I would be lying if I say I wasn't disappointed with this episode. I really was looking forward to Lemon debut.
But anyways, Kyaron and Lemon may be my favorite duo, both have good personalities, and for once, one of the magical partners isn't extremely sassy, and hold a respectful conversation

Kyaron and Lemon are such a cute duo.

Poor Lemon. Her social anxiety is pretty severe.

"Someday..." Indeed. Be strong, girl! You can do it! I think it would have been too early to see her performance immediately. She needs some time and proper character development.

“both have good personalities”

With all due respect, BlichoBoy, that’s just it. I don’t know about Carron, but Lemon? They made her into a stereotype: a shy “hikkikomori” who has no social skills. It felt like this episode was nothing more than 30 minutes of “reminding” the viewers what kind of person she’s supposed to be.

For this reason, Serafos, there was nothing “good” about this episode at all. In fact, I’d call it the show’s worst episode so far. “A cute duo”, huh? There’s nothing really cute about Lemon shutting down, her soul flying out of her body, and Carron having to put it back, which is clearly a metaphor for her lack of confidence around other people, which I don’t think is meant to be comedy. I mean, saying she has “social anxiety” would be an understatement. I also disagree about it being “too early”. The fact is, Hina, seeing her (and every one else, including Matsuri) as a rival, decided to take unfair advantage of Lemon’s hesitation, and perform in the concert LEMON was supposed to perform. It makes me wonder kind of point the show is trying to prove: if you don’t take the opportunity, others will take it from you? If so, that’s not the point at all. I mean, if I was Matsuri (and I know I’m not), I would have called Hina out on her “you snooze, you lose” attitude.

In any event, this episode now seems to be implying that Matsuri really is that shallow. Not the kind of shallow that Myamu and Miruki seem to be, but rather, shallow in that Matsuri only seems to scratch the surface when it comes to other people, especially other “Primagisters”. She even called Miruki one of her “Primagi friends”, even though MYAMU of all characters knows what kind of person Miruki really is (and before anyone gives the “backstory” explanation, nothing justifies Miruki’s attitude, or what she tried to do to Matsuri). It also makes me wonder just what kind of show this is supposed to be compared to the previous “Pretty Series” shows…

Are all shows in this series like this, or is this one just incredibly bad? Basically should I bother trying a different one?

If you never watched kids anime this and other of the same kind will never click with you at all. This kind of shows are 50+ episodes so they have lots of fillers. That's why idk people who are not familiar to this type of anime are watching PriMagi rn expecting it to be the anime of the year lol.
If you really want to try I can suggest you Pretty Rhythm Rainbow Live which is the most mature one out of the 10 serieses and dont have prequels or sequels.

Well, personally, I'm not expecting it to be "anime of the year", just that it doesn't try to be contrary all the time. In fact, I'm going to say it: I'm not going to be happy if this show turns out to be either a deconstruction, or even a deconstructive parody of the Pretty Series, among other things...

Pretty suprising for this episode, I see XD. Hahaha, poor Lemon Kokoa, she always got her ectoplasm released a lot from her anxiety. And plus, I lost counting times her ectoplasm got released XD

Now I was thinking, when will we see Lemon idol form? I thought this episode will have one, but oh well. Someday she will be on stage XD

Well, I could say, this episode is quite fun to watch. And this is Hina second apperance to appear on stage which is exciting XD. Hehehe, next week looks like they're about to enter the magical realm, I see XD

Also, this scene is scary, but also hillarious. I was laughing throughout the entirety of this scene XD

I have watched other kids shows that sucked and ones that were awesome. I'm watching Tropical Rouge Precure right now and it's vastly better than this in all aspects. I don't need anime to be "mature", I just need it to be good. I'll try Rainbow Live. Thanks.

Well, if you are enjoying Tropical Rouge maybe Pripara will also be good for you because it has lots of comedy and characters that are really eccentric. The only thing is that it has lots of episodes (I think 180 or something) so characters takes long time to develop and some seasons can be more hard to follow than others (like if you dont like the trope where kids have to take care of babies season 3 will be harder to follow). Over all Rainbow Live is a fan favourite and I think you will not be disappointed.
Pri Chan to me was no good except for season 2 which was pretty cute; the other 2 Pretty Rhythm serieses are good but they aged bad to me because they are more on the early 2000 maho shojo anime wave and style (also they are connected so you cant watch Dear My Future without watching Aurora Dream).
