I kinda prefer the rebuild ending as gendou's character got fleshed out. Throughout the series we only see gendou being a piece of shit and not really a solid reason for it.

And I also prefer the series ending over EoE.

End of evangelion for me by a landslide. I thought the rebuild were def cool but i dont think any moment from the rebuilds come close to any moment from eoe

Im partial to the rebuild movies, but you can’t really compare the two, since each serves a different purpose. EoE is the finale to the original show, whereas the rebuild movies are a finale to Evangelion itself, if that makes any sense.

The rebuild movies had a better way of explaining it's ending and the end scene with Shinji and Mari was just beautiful. But it's definitely a hard comparison to the depressing end of evangelion cuz when I saw the moment where shinji choked asuka i just felt an emotion that I never felt in any other anime. So I really loved both ways evangelion ended.

The Rebuilds are good, but End of Evangelion is the best movie of all time. That’s the difference for me.

I gave EoE a 9.5 out of 10, 1.0 9 out of 10, 2.0 9.5 out of 10, 3.0 7.5 out of 10 and 3.0+1.0 a 8.5 out of 10, cause it was too long, 30 minutes less and 3.0+1.0 could have easily been a 9

The End of Evangelion is great but I narrowly prefer 3.0+1.0. The Rebuilds get to have their cake and eat it too, with the not-so-subtle hints that the Rebuilds take place *after* EoE, which sort of makes it tough to compare the two as endings. The Rebuilds are worse in terms of pacing and tonal consistency, but we also get better animation, more Kaworu, more time to expand on the motives of the central villain, Mari Makinami, less ambiguity, Mari Makinami, an equally-optimistic ending, and Mari Makinami.

I like the Rebuilds because closure and Mari Makinami. However, it’s hard to argue against anyone who says EoE is superior or the best movie ever, because a great case can be made for that too. People seem quite divided over “which is better” but the good news is that we have both

The EOE was just the perfect masterpiece ending , tho it was not satisfying . The rebuild movies are for people who wanted a peaceful ending and stuff . For me , I prefered EOE , cuz it felt like the best ending
