Looks like Albert will be sticking around after all (post-credit scene). No joke, I thought he was gonna be used like how Part IV character Rebecca Rossellini showed up for a little while towards the finale of Part 5. But this time around it looks like Part 5 character Albert, is being set up to be present throughout this season.

Interesting. Lupin leaves England at the end of the episode. So perhaps there will be some episodic episodes with Lupin around the world and when Lupin returns to London, that will be when the overarching plot comes into play. I guess we will see.

As expected, Sherlock Holmes is just a title and this Sherlock is a descendant or a really smart detective with no relation. Though it looks to be the former at this point.

Sherlock really showed what he is capable of this episode. Besting Goemon in a one on one close quarters duel, trading gunfire with Jigen and getting the drop on him, and winning Fujiko's heart. His face off with Lupin though got cut short. Guess that will be saved for later down the road. Sherlock really is impressive when he wants to be.

So Lily saw Lupin over her dead father, Watson. It's highly doubtful Lupin killed him, but it will be interesting to see how that plot point develops.

One thing that didn't make so much sense was that Sherlock chose that abandoned building after a quick motorcycle chase and then Lupin was already there despite not having a vehicle, at least not one that we see, and them leaving first. Plus, Lupin somehow rigged the building to explode beforehand. So either Lupin somehow knew that Sherlock would run to that building or he has explosives in various abandoned buildings just for that scenario. Well, it's Lupin logic, so it's best not to think too much about that.

Either way, it was a very entertaining episode. The Fujiko cleavage in this episode was hilarious and she just had a poster rolled up there for half the episode, haha.

Good episode all around, definitely leaves me wanting more with what happens next, although Lupin's 'on vacation' now from England. Curious as to how those episodes would turn out being, this series is 24 episodes though so time is plenty. Sherlock when he wants to be, can come across as pretty damn cool like how he was when facing off against Goemon and then catching Fujiko like that and making her blush after he got the drop on Jigen and her. CG with the police car at the beginning of the episode was meh but rest of the episode looked solid. Still prefer some of the previous seasons though visually so far.

Yep, the previous one Kiyoshi Kobayashi announced his retirement last month I think and the episode 0 for this season was a special episode that featured his last episode voicing Jigen. It's Akio Ootsuka who's the voice for Jigen from this season onwards.

Yes. The special before this season started (otherwise known as episode 0) was a commemoration of the voice actor's last time in the role.

Damn, Fujiko is even hotter this part. Nice fanservice xD And good follow up episode.

Yeah, Kobayashi Kiyoshi retired. Episode 0 of this part was his final episode. Ootsuka Akio is doing an awesome job, tho.

That's a spin-off manga that atm doesn't have an English translation.

I'm really digging this so far. I doubt Lupin is going to be the one who ended up shooting Watson but I like how they've kinda portrayed him as the villain so far. He is a thief and murderer at the end of the day after all.

So looks like the gang is going to have some non linear adventures outside of England for a while which is cool.

The next episode is some real whiplash. I guess they are going the classic Lupin standalone episode route for a while. I was hoping for some more connected arcs off the rip like part 5. Still Akio Otsuka is doing a perfectly fine job as Jigen so far.

I think the pipe is unnecessary as Sherlock has the cane and uses Baritsu. That's more than enough Holmes indicators. I do hope they show Holmes off as a master of disguise as well.

I actually prefer the new OP to part 5s OP but Adieu is probably my favorite Lupin ED ever, so this new ED is just ok.

I'm looking forward to more classic heists but what I really want is Albert and Sherlock to do a lot of cool things this season. Rebecca showing up would be nice as well.

Sherlock's gonna be a very interesting opponent for Lupin. I like the call back they made to Part 2 when they mentioned Holmes the 3rd(at least I think that's when he appeared).

Anyway, the animation was amazing when he was dueling with Goemon and the way he bested him showed how Sherlock's always a step ahead. It did surprise me if I'm being honest. He did seem to have a little more trouble with Jigen but he took care of him and Fujiko after getting the drop on them.

Sherlock winning Fujiko's heart there might lead to something down the road(possibly shown in the opening credits with her driving by Zenigata), but I might be looking too deeply into it. I also agree with what other people mentioned about how Lupin's probably not the one who killed Watson, and that's going to be interesting to see play out.

Glad Albert's sticking around too, can't wait to see what he does down the road. All in all, a cool second episode and it'll be interesting to see where we see the gang next.

The stage was set for Lupin III and Sherlock Holmes to clash after ten years, but unfortunately that will have to wait as Lupin has already left London. I doubt Lupin was the one who killed Watson because Lupin is a gentleman thief who would never kill innocent people. It's more likely that Watson was killed by a member of Raven for digging too deep and Lupin just happen to be the first one on the scene and knows the truth which explains why Lupin is banking on Lilly's memories to come back to clear up the misunderstanding. Holmes on the other hand, proved to be a formidable rival as he bested Jigen, Goemon, and Fujiko.

Next episode is when the series goes on its episodic run as the gang will go on random adventures.

Really banging episode. The action was spectacular and the direction is real fine. These episodes are keeping real beautiful. I really like how this episode establishes the skill of Holmes. He’s a powerful figure much like Lupin. The status he demands makes so much sense. Especially at the end when he leaves the police to get him, he feels very alone and capable.

So the plot of Watson’s killer is beginning to show now. It’s of course not Lupin, but I wonder if Holme’s is the one who killed Watson. And perhaps due to him being allied with Raven or such. Lupin is quite sad in the memory, suggesting that maybe he’s sympathising with Lily over Watson’s murder or even the role he played. While of course the photos of Watson in the house are covered to pay respect, it may be that Holmes also can’t stomach what he had to do. And so he is protecting Lilly to lead her out of this and not let her be swayed to think he’s in the wrong. I Laserdes or whatever his name was is in cahoots with Raven. Cause it’s clear that someone from Raven is going to be a plant, as Lupin has explained, so to have it be the guy who couldn’t tell Holmes anything about the crime scene would make a lot of sense.

Great episode, lot of intrigue. And the confrontation with Lupin was awesome. He’s quite a matured man it seems compared to other shows, I really like that. I also like that Lupin has to leave London for now, we’ve got globe trotting back with a method that fits the care free but calculated nature. Just doing something else to kill time.

I wondered if maybe that’s where Watson had died and so Holmes left the fight to find Lupin and then figured out he’d be there. Since Lupin admitted that Holmes figured out their entire plan and where he was likely to exit. I remember the first teaser trailer certainly focused on this shot and it may have just been cool, but that’s the only significance I could guess as to why and how they went there.

Good episode. Really interested in the Holmes-Lupin backstory now that we were given info on Watson. The Holmes vs Lupin's gang fight and chase scenes were really nice too.

I'm really enjoying this Holmes vs Lupin cat vs mouse game, but why aren't all the usual seasonal junkies watching this? They're willing to watch a lot of mediocre series like that ASMR one, but not Lupin.

A lot of people are put off by the Part 6 in the title and the monstrous length and age of the franchise, possibly thinking they would need to watch everything up until now to watch this installment.

As shameful as it sounds, this is my introduction to Lupin but because of the way this series is (episodic like Dirty Pair) it's pretty easy to follow along. But I can understand that people who know nothing about it get intimidated by the size of the series.

It's not shameful at all. I would say the majority of people these days watch the more modern Lupin shows before deciding to check out the older installments (with the possible exception for Castle of Cagliostro).

That's true because I didn't watch Lupin until Parts 4 and 5 aired on Toonami a few years ago. From there I watched Part 1 and movies like the Castle of Cagliostro, Goemon Ishikawa's Spray of Blood, and Lupin III: The First. That's basically how I fell in love with the series.

Looks like Holmes is a force to be reckoned with, pretty interested to see where this arc goes but not hooked quite yet. Parts 4 & 5 both started off much stronger for me, but I'm sure this arc is going to ramp it up a lot very quickly.

The first fight with Holmes was kinda dumb but if anyone's a Gary Stu, it's Sherlock Holmes. First fight so lots of time for the writers to sort things out/portray it as a part of something bigger. And maybe, just maybe the young female character of this series won't fall in love with Lupin. I have high hopes but every Lupin writing team seems to want their own Clarisse lol. It's not going to happen, but still they try. Hope these writers are different. And good to see I wasn't mistaken in getting red jacket feelings from this series. On with the episodic content!

And numerous previous installments aside, the pacing/theming in Lupin is just not necessarily going to appeal to fans of more contemporary anime. The visuals are contemporary but the storytelling, for this series so far at least, is staying true to its 60s/70s storytelling/narrative core.

So Lupin is investigating a secret society controlling the government that's not Cambridge Analytica? I miss when the franchise was explicitly political; the classic series referenced events such as the Cold War, the Arab-Israeli Conflict and the Lebanese Civil War.
