There is not only one team, there are many of them, and they do rotations, they are used to it, it is their job.

i mean zombieland saga is their series so its not surprising theyd be handling any of the projects in the future, but yes it is awful. i hope one day there is a big strike and boycott. the worst thing ever was that chainsaw man trailer; it is the most stunning animation ive ever seen in anime, and that really sucks because its Mappa and that means its been and is going to be absolutely hell for those animators.

They can start whenever they can since it's their original project. So I'm assuming they will airing the movie in 2023. And looking back they took 2 years to make ZLSR (+1 year cause pandemic).

I can guarantee this won’t start anytime soon since the director is directing another anime.
And because they have different teams, they need works to have money. Like you cannot just let like 2 teams of your company doing the work and the rest just go to the headquarter with no work right?

Since this is a movie of their original project then I'm sure they'll take it easy just like what they are doing with Yuri on Ice movie.

Man the uproar after the Chainsaw Man trailer should have continued a little longer.

Exactly. The guy who made the post thinks there are too few animators to do 500 anime at once.
You also have the freelancers and you have the subcontracted studios to do animation. For example, in The God of High School there were more than 20 studios involved in the production (yes, that's right, more than 20), because it is impossible for a single studio to make such a well animated anime in such a short time.
https://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=23279

Do people really think that Mappa studio does everything themselves just because they own the projects? There has always been subcontracting in the anime industry.

As far as I know mappa there are two buildings, so I'm not surprised they put out anime like X or Y or something like sky or land. However, I'm only stuck with the Zombieland story so far.

I'm pretty scared to know where this movie will going... I hope this isn't a recap as season two made me think "give koutarou-san a break!".

other than that this anime can introduce every new thing to become a tourist attraction to Japan... I prefer time travel or character side stories than fighting aliens.

after feeling they weren't easy to become an otome game... I gave up thinking about it, but... doesn't this probably explain the visuals of the first season's opening theme. very interesting.

MAPPA is a huge studio. They have somewhere between 400-500 employees. And then you have to consider all the freelancers and contractors they outsource work to. The working conditions at MAPPA are no better or worse than anywhere else imo. I could be wrong of course, but considering this was just announced I wouldn't worry too much.

nope they aren't that big as you think but most of the 200 employees are either anime producers or production managers while the animators are 50+ only with freelancers counting that they rely heavily on outsourcing to keep their productions afloat but sometimes it can't be enough because their schedules are usually tight.

Looks like you were closer than me as the last figure I could find was 250 employees.

https://cgworld.jp/feature/202104-why3dcg-anime.html

I'd be surprised if only 50 of them were animators.

Yuri on Ice movie was announced four years ago and they still didn't release it. They were supposed to release it in 2019,but it got delayed and they've done so much other stuff in the meantime.

Just like any other studio in Japan. But you don't get to see people expressing their concern of animators for other studios. You'll only see people expressing their concern for Mappa only. I've never seen people saying they feel bad for the Animators until Attack on titan final season.

I guess the movie is just being shelved at this point. They are releasing so many movies like JJK or https://myanimelist.net/anime/49303/Alice_to_Therese_no_Maboroshi_Koujou
So why do they keep delaying Yuri on ice movie when it has such a massive fanbase?

That's just Japan's work culture in general, bro. Doesn't make it justified or anything, but to act like MAPPA is unique in this situation is stupid.

the thing with mappa is that they just take advantage of the increase of demand on anime by taking many projects more than they can chew with schedules that can be below the standards too and the worse thing that they really mean it without even hiding which isn't a good thing.
