Ooh, Sai getting some spotlight this arc. He got put into quite a risky mission to gather information.

Glad to see Sai showing that no matter what the risk, he's willing to take it. Really got a cult-like vibe from the episode.

Konohamaru and Sai are on a spy mission. They successfully managed to get inside Boro's hideout and get some information out of them. Can't believe Boro manipulated them up to that level that they don't believe in anything anymore.

Delta destroyed the hideout and teleportation device. Some casualties and some people were rescued. Kara is a really dangerous organization.

Yup, second filler episode, but no bad

It's hard to see how Boro had so many people following a false faith

In the next episode Kakashi will appear again, I missed him 0.0

Boro arc is still going strong. Sai is getting some screentime after a while.
The first girl and Inori have some beautiful designs. They managed to find some information. And even after showing so much proof, not a single follower believed them. Boro is on a whole different level of manipulation.

Kakashi next ep? Yessir.

Oh yeah for this kind of thing, Konohamaru got a screen time again. Welcome back after being hospitalized almost two season, Konohamaru. But its just sucks that the investigation mission was once again be a failure. Because the objective to find the teleportation device unexpectedly diverted by those useless file of deceased boy. Oh well. Its expected tho. Still, at least they knew Delta alive, made the pressure at Naruto's shoulder kinda heavier. Don't care much about the cult that somehow kinda slap this real situations here tho. But, for another break, lets see another dang episode of Chocho and her team. Its has been a long time without them!

Even with all that evidence Sai and Konohamaru were presenting right in front of their faces, the cult members still didn't believe it. Boro had these people brainwashed masterfully. What happened was unfortunate but that's what happens when people refuse to accept anything that goes against the cult. I'm happy we get to see Kakashi again next episode.
People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime.

Your taste in anime isn't a personality trait.

The animation in this episode was pretty great regrading the facial animation it was nice for charevters to show emotion when talking instead of just the lips moving also I’ll never skip that ending song lol

Was really cool to see Sai and Konohamaru get some spotlight this week. I felt horrible for Akari, seeing how devastated she was at the end knowing her little brother was gone and everything she knew was a lie.. really hard to watch. Inari and the rest just couldn’t break free of Boro’s hold on them, a true shame.

Did any of the BC staff work on this episode? It felt like it had some black clover vibes.

This show has completely turned around for me, I LOVED episode 65 but then It was ehh until the Time Travel Arc(which I loved). But since 190ish I've been absolutely loving it. Side note I LOVE Jigen's voice actor and the Kara theme so much.

Where did that bright priest come from towards the end :)). I had such a premonition when Delta entered the portal that Boro will appear. The next episode will be full of action as I see what Delta is doing. I hope to see Boruto again in Borushiki mode :))

This episode was actually painful to watch (in a good way). I felt shivers when Kagari's sister realised he was dead, and honestly it was such a good episode to explore the cult and Boro's influence. I don't know if this was in the manga, but if it was filler - then it was damn good filler!

Been a while since we got good OSTs from Naruto, so that Kara theme slaps. Reminded me of all the old good Naruto songs.

This episode was quite unexpected in terms of what I saw in the preview.

One, I wasn't aware that Sai would join Konohamaru to infiltrate the cult. I also was under the impression that this would be a multi episode ordeal. The fact that this type of mission started and ended in this one episode was a surprise to me.

Konohamaru and Sai easily infiltrate the Cult and try their best to get intel on the Kara. The only real intel that they get is that there was a machine that Boro used to produce the virus. This sort of confuses me as Boro told Sarada that he made the virus within his body. Does that mean that he uses the machine to create the virus and put it inside his body or that he uses the machine to mass produce the virus within his body so that his followers can spread it themselves? Either way there is some left out information in regards to that.

Delta showing up to decimate the facility was a surprise. For Konohamaru's sake I'm glad that she didn't notice him. Given the difficult that Naruto had fighting her I doubt that Konohomaru would've been able to do much. Escape would've been the only option if the conflict ever came to be.

Apparently the Kara having Teleporting Machines?!?!? NANI?!?!?!?!? This is some next level techonology which is funny considering that roads and cars aren't a thing in the series as of now.

I love the fact that Sai gets some time to shine in the series a little bit more. In terms of the pre-Boruto characters, Naruto, Shikamaru, and Sasuke are the ones that have the most involvement in the series. Ino as well given that the Yamanaka clan is responsible for sensing the chakra in the village to make sure that no danger arises.

With that in mind I'm wondering what will happen next...

the tense atmosphere in the air at the destruction of that place was something that didn't have much information even about Kara, Episode itself was good.

this arc was offensive considering FMA and FMAB already covered cultism in anime in almost the same identical way but much, much, much better. When you have such a great template to use, how could you screw up human nature so badly?
They copied from FMAB's work, but they didn't put in the time to figure out why it worked in the first place.

first of all, what made FMA's cult so chilling was in how it was explored through the perspective of one woman. She has to be developed enough that we can understand her motivations and complexities. What I don't understand, is that they had perfectly laid the groundwork for this but just didn't bother to take the time developing her character. If we had of cut off that bland introduction and just started from when they enter Boro's temple, then there would have been enough time.

second of all, in order to make the greatest use of this new character, have a climax where it is their decision that decides the fate of the entire cult / the lives of the Shinobi. Give her a moment where she can choose reason or faith and have that choice affect the outcome of the episode. Once again, the groundwork was laid for this, but instead they focused more on the two priests, and then had Delta come in from nowhere to raze the ground, reducing all the consequences being built up.

Faith vs Reason is such an interesting and intense type of story and when done well it's impactful and memorable. This show is just so lazy and it would honestly be 100x better if it was just a seasonal anime. But even then the core plot elements couldn't stand up to the big seasonal shows like MHA, JJK, and DS, so I can understand why they would instead prioritise consistently releasing content.

Was surprised konohamaru didn’t get sent to the hospital this time, like every other Kara encounter. Couldn’t enjoy it that much because it was filler and sadly next episode is going to be filler too.

Holy shit those Cult people are so denial in the end they are all killed by Delta.
I'm expecting for Delta to whoop Konohamaru Ass lol
Lucky day for Konohamaru i guess.

Next week the last Anime Canon Episode, Kakashi with Ino Shika Cho investigating Kashin Koji?
This is interesting.

I watched these five episodes over the course of a month, so this review wont hold as much as I want. A couple notable moments was obviously Momoshiki taking over for the first time, which was insane to see btw. The buildup to something like this happening, we've BEEN waiting... and to see it happen was such a huge moment.

The anime canon episode with Kawaki and Himawari I hated halfway through, but by the end it was one of my favourites thus far. The way Kishimoto/Ikemoto/Periott wrote this episode was beautiful. It was a great theme/analogy of Kawaki's exact situation. (8-1-23)
