| it havent played the game but im thinking of getting it sometime soon. i also havent watched/seen much gameplay but from an anime only stand point its pretty bad |

| I second the sentiment that this anime adaptation is poorly done. I found the game to be very enjoyable not a masterpiece by any means but a solid game nonetheless. One of the only things about the anime I can give it credit for is that it is covering the major story beats of the game however it is simply impossible to completely cover the story of the game in a 12/13 episode anime and as such all the background context is cut. This also means that all character development for the supporting characters is chopped as this happens outside of the main story missions in the game which in my opinion gives anime only viewers little reason to care about what is happening in the story. The combat scenes in the anime are really disappointing, all ending in the matter of just a few seconds and not showing of the games strongest point, it's game play in any meaningful way. However the "Other" designs are very faithful to the game. The next point I have may be just me but I also find that some of the characters just look off to me. My go to example would be Kasane, every time she is on screen I just feel that something is off. I also really dislike the way brain drive is used in the anime. I will not tell people to drop the anime, however I strongly suggest that you give the game a try if you have an interest in the story or characters presented in the anime. For clarity's sake this post was made after the fifth episode of the anime aired and as such won't speak to the quality of the anime if the later episodes are large improvements. |
