What did the line "Listen up kid. There ain't no shame in losing to third rate punks like him. I guarantee you are the real deal, or my name isn't Nanbu Gansaku." in Episode 1 mean?

He knows joe is a great fighter and can beat anyone one of those guys but he makes more money if he takes the L on purpose

It's pretty obvious he meant that Joe is actually really talented and could easily beat any one of those fighters in the underground

He meant that Joe is a very talented even without equipment because the equipment in Megalo Box can really enhance the ability of the fighter(you'll find out if you finished it).
