Apparently they went for the OVA/DVD release to avoid censorship (Not like there’s a lot to censor since they barely show anything considering they don’t have any restrictions and the LN has a good amount of erotic content that’s completely removed anyway) also the fact that this route is just all around more profitable to the studio. |

Strike The Blood's LN has 22 volumes, and with the fourth season of the anime, that has been adapted up to the 21st volume. So there is only one volume left to adapt, this means that the fifth season will only have three or four episodes. |
