| Hmm I won't say that I enjoyed it more than Your name ( I maybe biased cuz it was my first Shinkai film so I am connected to it) but still Weathering with u was a perfect movie for me like I enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed Your name they were both different from each other.....but I liked the ending of weathering with u more than Your name..... |

Is this another Shinkai "style over substance" movie? Yes. 100%. That didn't stop me from having a good time. Is it disappointing that I couldn't feel like this during Your Name? Yes. 100%. Though thanks to a lot of people who checked out my other forums, I've learned that that's ok and it's fine to have my own opinion. This movie has truly opened a gateway to me, so I think I'll finally give Kimi No Na Wa. another chance within the next couple weeks. (hopefully.) Can anybody relate or express their own thoughts? (Overall 8-9/10) |

I would rate both equally but as I have seen your name more times than weathering with you and it impacted me more I would say your name takes the cake. It's very rare that an anime wins on the basis of music for me but I'm not complaining. Your name will be more memorable for me personally but I believe that objectively weathering with you was a better movie |

| I liked WWY more than YN, I think in part due to the fact that the characters actually interact with each other directly lol. It was hard for YN to sell me on the romance since they never spoke to each other but WWY's relationship was much more believable. I'm always gonna be in the minority for thinking it's better but eh whatever. |
| In Weathering with you, the interaction between the two MCs are much more than Your name ... Maybe that was the reason why you liked it more than Your name . |

| Both have plain stories and involve japanese folktales. I like Your Name more because it’s a little more realistic and more SoL I guess? It involves alternate universe which can be easily dismissed as a dream. It ended with both MC having no memories at all but fate unites them. Meanwhile the MC of Weathering with you is literally a rain god manipulating the weather. |
