I have this on hold and I wanted to know if the show gets better. Don't get me wrong, this show is good and realistic, but are there tournament arcs bc I really look foward to those

pretty sure they’re asking so they don’t waste their time.

to answer the question though, no, it doesn’t get better. i would recommend dropping it. it’s not worth your time in my personal opinion.

If you're 22 episodes in and aren't enjoying it I'd say drop it. It's a decent sports shounen basketball story with decent realism and some likeable characters however the production is pretty bad, actually it's really bad and to be honest it doesn't get better. The story doesn't get incredible either and there isn't like a big hype tournament arc within the anime so you can't really look forward to that. I see you're watching Kuroko which is one of my favorites. If you're looking for another basketball anime and possibly a more realistic one lots of people suggest Slam Dunk however I haven't watched it myself. If you're just looking for more sports shounen there's a lot of way better options than Ahiru no Sora as well. Hope that helps!

Nah it’s a slow burn, and in my opinion it needs a season two if it wants to get anywhere

I really liked it and it does get slightly better. I enjoyed it from the beginning so I can't say much if you want more motivation to get back you should read top review's.

it was aight for me at the beginning, but started to really like it after mokichi (tall guy) was introduced. not sure which ep that was.

i understand that you find it slow tho, because it really is at the beginning. to answer your question, yes, it does get "better". you're hoping for tournament arcs and yes there is one.

There are. But
And I fell in love with the characters & coming-of-age stories really early on & that’s what kept me going even tho the animation was really lacking. If you still don’t like it you should drop it!

but i’ll probably remember over and over again
you were there and everyone else was there

yeah but they win a lot of games in manga, momoharu becomes a badass and other characters are really good too, they even defeats one of the best teams in their local district and a new short player also joins their team and he is really good player as well

@PeanutButter789 ah you make me want to start on the manga. I do plan to, I already love the anime so much but mainly for the story & characters. I love Momoharu!!!!! I think I’ll really like the manga too.

the best thing about the show is that it's extremely realsitic and the characters are all top tier, especially momoharu and kenji natsume

I'm a big fan of sport anime. But this anime really disappointed me. Nanao could get the coach instead of try to be one. So frustrated when they could be better but lack of guides. So this anime doesn't get better. Better drop it after episode 33.

I kinda like this anime. Rewatched it too. There are many things to be missed on the first view. Mainly becoz the animation was so bad. Actually it's worse. OMG, the amount of stills were atrociously heavy. Drawing so bad. Nao looked like she had weird hands soo many times. I understand why the creator was anger with the studio.

That being said, I really hope there is a second season on this. Yes, they didn't win one match, and they don't have a proper coach, but I still want a second season for that reasons.

I really liked Backflip. It's animation was top notch. Hope the same studio picks up this one. Slam dunk was good too but I don't like the hero. I like everyone else on that one. Burning Kabbadi is awesome too. Everyone should watch it. Seriously. Sports anime are few and far in-between these days. Instead of creating new ones please revive the old ones.

As a manga reader, EP 50 covered about vol.16-17
but it took about vol.
to at least win one proper match. Quite a stat lol!

This one is probably better for manga format. It took reader's patience, and it contains a heavy drama for each character backstory with a basketball as a cherry on top.
climax in vol.
was the most heartbreaking imo.
