Nope. Nope. Noping the fk out. Magic and spirits or not, the bitch mother didn't REMOTELY get what she deserved, didn't seem to even properly apologize, there's nothing to stop her from doing it again, and i don't even see how she could rot this fast to begin with, and suddenly change into being 'nice' this fast either. And the girl got to suffer even more to make this miraculous change happen, while the mom just got some jewelry and clothes destroyed. This is making a joke out of abuse, deifying parents, and completely ignoring psychology too, the mom was a bitch, and she'll stay a bitch, if anything, she'd become even WORSE after this, yet here we are. Fk this show, i'm out.

Same, I didn't cringed that hard during episode since Okaa-san Online and their approach to parental abuse.
but I will stick because of 3-episode rule.
Manga recommendation:
- Spy x Family (Ch.108/? - biweekly) | Sakamoto Days (Ch.195/? - weekly)
- MARRIAGETOXIN (Ch.111/? - weekly) | Machi and Oboro (Ch.18/? - biweekly)
- Make the Exorcist Fall in Love (Ch.81/? - biweekly)
- Monochrome Days (Ch.10/? - biweekly)
Anime recommendation:
- Deca-Dence (Finished) | Wave, Listen to Me! (Finished)

Well, good luck, but if i where you i'd start making some rules for three episode rule exceptions, some stuff's just not worth it!

This is so bizarre and odd, yet kind of intriguing.

And yes, the mom sucked a lot.

Yes, this pretty much giving me the whole same vibe with Muhyo to Ryoji level of supernatural-ish theme in the first season. But this show will focused more into the way of curing peoples from the supernatural diseases. Its kinda giving me a refresh matter despite so many isekai and fantasy heavy theme out there. Guess that iyashikei can't cured me much, so my decision to look over this won't be a bad thing after all.

Anyway, they held the same dynamic too, exclude how their traits looked pretty much the opposite. Ramune sensei last psychological attack against those abusive mother unexpectedly serious enough to clear the trouble. Guess, their interaction will be more gold in the matter of times. The episodic episode might be the real fear for the show, as same as Muhyo to Ryoji that showed the later development in the next season. I hope these one not going into that direction, instead, they are giving out more of character background development too while doing the episodic episode.

Also, these episode explanations were good enough to make me attach too. The deep feelings that accumulated, condensed as a condiment tears. Yep, its creepy as hell. The way the receptacle took the important role to the change of character was also good shit. Then in the end, i am surely prioritized this one more than i thought before. Okay, next episode!

That was very weird but enjoyable and the ending is heart-warming. I like. Lmao Kuro's "emotions" were gold.

She just needed an extreme situation to get perspective and see where her priorities truly lie. This totally does work on people.

A kidnapper and a peeping tom as main characters mmm... jokes aside the mother is obviously a terrible parent but that film crew sure ignores some obvious signs of abuse. At least things turned out okay.

That felt a bit rushed at the end there. The idea that she so quickly got over being a materialistic mum seems a bit unrealistic.

This anime is odd because its giving me mushishi vibes x Mob Psycho.

Sheesh I thought this was just SOL but they have a supernatural disease concept going on which reminds me of Mushishi < but that's a miles better than anything else. Also the balance between the comedy and drama is really struggling here. I do like the OP because it's Yuuma Uchida singing and it's catchy af.

straight up FACTS

update - so, it's been about two hours and the more I think about it, the worse it gets. the whole episode makes it out like the girl almost brought it upon herself by choosing to supress her emotions instead of communicating them to her mom... like her mom wasn't aware of what was going on because the girl chose to stay silent, thus she got a bit carried away oops! if only the girl told her sooner and asked to be cooked for again!.. and then the girl was given a magical teapot and lenses, and told to make a choice. and she chooses to supress herself again! what a dumb kid huh. that "doctor" asks her "why did you make that choice?" it's such massive BULLSHIT omg kids have NO AGENCY. they are not SUPPOSED to make big choices and they can't as they are still developing and would just choose whatever to secure their parents' love, they are not supposed to guide and help out "carried away" adults, they are not supposed to go to a doctor on their own too btw, tf. Anyhow I really really fcking HATE this show bye! if someone reads this who was abused as a child and was left with subconscious belief that it was their fault they were abused... it was NOT your fault, the adults around you just failed you! you did nothing wrong, you were a good lovable child!

Yep, exactly. But since writing this i realized a whole lot, and one of these things is that Japan's culture is highly immoral, victim blaming and has a 'say no bad thing' kind of suppression culture going on, especially toward people in higher status than you or authority. Even if a certain company or individual was blamed and CONVICTED of doing something horrible, like child abuse (sexual or otherwise), worker exploitation, driving someone to suicide, beatings, or ANYTHING, journalists and afflicted individuals aren't really allowed to voice and blame the abuser publicly, because even a guilty criminal can sue them for 'ruining their good name' and will likely win. Let alone blaming such people BEFORE the trial, then the life of the one blaming will usually be ruined instantly instead... So yeah, what I'm saying is, while in the west expecting a slightly more advanced level of understanding like in my comment is already asking much, in Japan where your parents and superiors are always right and you can't talk bad of people, expecting this slightly above base level of understanding of morals, psychology, family roles and obligation is like expecting an ant to lift an elephant...

Buy yeah, i agree, its not the children's job to say what's wrong and manage their parent's feelings, whims and emotions, quite the opposite, in fact, its the parent's job to MAKE their children feels safe and trusting enough to share every hardship with their parents, also prepare them for all, or most hardships they might encounter. If the child doesn't tell something to their parent's that's bothering them, and doesn't know how to handle bullying and other issues, it just means the parent failed in preparing their child for the outside world and their bond is very weak.

@mkzxwing Yeah I've thought about this a lot in the past and this all + the culture of overworking are a big part of why I can't really say that I am a "fan of Japan". Shit is depressing. But still you can't help but expect some breakthroughs even slight... -__- maybe acknowledging that supressed emotions are harmful IS a breakthrough of sorts though

You are so right! When I see in anime/manga a kid from a "perfect&loving" family shown bullied I think "here we go again...". But it's certainly easier for people to think that bullying just "happens" and they got nothing to do with it. Who cares about psychology. So immature.
Anyways lets hope this stuff somehow improves soon.

I doubt it will move from that standstill anytime soon, even in the west when these things are more or less known most don't seem aware of them... But yeah, here's hoping.
