In my opinion, it was a good idea to skip the other matches until the finals. And oh my God was this match good! Even though I already knew deep down that Tachibana was going to win, I was still nervously rooting for them hehe And someone please make Shiraki shut up xD I guess karma is bish?

I think it's safe to say that this concludes the first half of the anime.

Pretty good rematch against the team that beat them the first time. It looks that all the basic training really boosted this team now. I remember when they won their first match but needed to realize they were still too weak. Now it almost seems the opposite to happen: the coach reassures them that for the lower tier teams they are good enough and don't even need specific plans. They seem to have progressed from being very weak to very strong, talk about change! xD

I think this is especially valid for the first years. Compared to the first match with Yokohama now they could receive Kyoko's spikes. I laughed at Kyoko's face when Kimiko received the ball in the match point, when in the previous match Kimiko was like the most targeted one xD. Well, they warmed up for it in the first set, and they trained with the older guys against this kind of attack; maybe it worked a bit too well, though the coach said some mistakes were allowed. I guess the lighting's different mixups did also make the difference, great teamwork!
Although Mimi's reception this time looked much simpler than the Willow reception, it was still very effective. Kyoko was really shocked, so much since the first match she taunted quite a bit!

If anything, the coach of Yokohama should have tried something different to counter, like Mitsuru's team did; this time they were completely shocked and didn't have a reserve plan. They probably were too confident with Kyoko's special move, but they relied only to her, and probably for all the games. On the other hand our coach is a great addition to the team, really decisive when it comes to strategy. Without him the girls would still have a hard time despite playing well

Yes they skipped the other matches, it's a bit odd going straight to the finals, but it's a qualification for a bigger tournament after all, so I guess that's ok.
And yes now that they qualified, Shiraki should shut up for good, hopefully xD
I now watched the preview of this match and they showed a frame of Kyoko defeated. What were they thinking xD
