DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- The new OP and ED are pretty nice, I also loved the episode, it had a bit of recap, but it was mostly new stuff and interactions, and we even got to see Ayame outside of GBN! |

| There's an inherent conflict in how people view recap episodes I think. On the one hand, nobody wants to sit through a droll series of reused animation. On the other hand, the better they're made, the more difficult it is justify skipping over them. So there's an odd situation in which I would kind of prefer the episode to be worse than it was so I didn't have to actually see it. That said, as far as recap episodes go, it was okay. Not great, not even particularly good. Just okay, especially compared to the last episode. From the post-credits scene it looks like we're going to get into the plot of the second half next time. Hopefully they manage to raise the stakes so that there isn't such a disjoint between character's reactions and the plot. It's been obvious from the start that Sarah is an AI like the mysterious girl in dot hack. In fact, I'd go so far as to describe the series as a whole to this point as a kind of dot hack/gundam mix. |
