Anime Recommendation Thread

You can use this thread to ask for recommendations for a similar anime you liked or to ask for something different from what you usually watch. Or just to tell others of an anime you think others will like.

I'll start off:

Kaiji (Manly as hell)
Clannad (Yeah, I know, I'm surprised too)
Welcome to the NHK! (The story of your life)
Baccano! (It has alchemy, so you'll probably watch it)
One Outs (Baseball+Gambling=WIN)
Elfen Lied (Kind of gory, so if you're uneasy about that DON'T WATCH)
The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (;_;, that's why)
Golden Boy (Because it's very educational, only for the guys though)
Detroit Metal City (Because it's hilarious)
Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex (Because you'll be pretty much forced to watch it eventually)
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann (Same as above)
Cowboy Bebop (Same as above)
ef - tale of memories. (Romance on acid)
Also, a good show that is almost done airing: Bakemonogatari (This show should appeal to both boys and girls, same studio that made ef)

It's not even worth mentioning Death Note and Code Geass, because if you haven't watched them yet, you probably shouldn't be here.

gundam 00 (mecha & amazing)
Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann (really good not hype)
Sengoku Basara ( decent fight scenes )
Buso Renkin (funny / technically has alchemy)
Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion & R2 ( hey i liked it )

^Well yeah, that's what I'm saying. Code Geass is one of those you will probably check out anyway, because of its massive popularity. Just like TTGL. Personally, I didn't like R2 as much as R1, but if you like the show's first season you'll watch R2 anyway.

Forgot to mention that Memories: Magnetic Rose is a definite must-watch.
