I have watched this show each week since it started. I love the music and some of the episodes have been decent/good. Most episodes have been episodic with no follow up, excluding the one two part arc we got previously. The shows description mentions violence leading to makoto losing a loved but we are 8 episodes in (75% done) and nothing like that has happened yet. I've enjoyed this show to an extent but with 4 episodes left it doesnt really seem like that description is true. Its actually pretty misleading. Thoughts?

This show is an adaptation of a novel. I'm pretty sure the synopsis is based on the plot of the novel. I didn't read the novel myself though, so I don't know how true to the source material the anime is so far.

I agree the synopsis is really misleading. Like @0451 mentioned, I have no clue what the light novel is really about and how the anime portrays that. But judging solely from what we've seen so far in the episodes, this is an episodic anime which portrays normal societal issues you could find anywhere, not just in Ikebukuro, with a side of gang activity.

When I first read the synopsis, I expected a Durarara!! style anime with more emphasis on gang violence and criminal activity. I'm a bit disappointed it didn't deliver exactly that, but it's still a pretty good episodic series, especially if you take it episode by episode. As a whole though, I think it looks like the directors' are confused with the direction in which they want to take the show. Having this misleading synopsis probably also amplifies this confusion in the watchers' minds.

That makes sense. Some of the stories have been good for sure. Just wish there was a progression of a story

Definitly it should, the anime didn't have anything about romance, that should be changed as well
