| Hi everyone!^^. I’m a new member as you may have noticed. This is my first time staring a forum on MAL. I’m here to ask you, as WMT fans, what you think are the most important things which make WMT anime special or what differentiates them from other anime? In other words what makes a WMT show worthy of being included in this category/title? |

| What makes a WMT anime special is not just the fact that it's based on a book, but also the point of view of how the story is told, the development of the characters as the story progresses, and the fluidity in the interaction between the characters and the landscape. Also, the feeling I have is that WMT animes, although they are soap operas, try to give us the same feelings as when we read the books that originated them. That's what makes them special to me. |

| The fact that these anime are based on works that have stood the test of time, which, in turn, should mean the anime should stand the test of time too. (Though some non-WMT series could be described as such, Xi You Ji and Toei's Saiyuuki being classic examples). |
