The score has dropped suddenly yesterday from 8.56 to 8.25 and the number of voters too. I created this thread just in case if mods doesn't notice this ! Edit: So this happened when MAL changed the number of the eps from 1 to 6 eps, and the rule say that users should have watched 1/5 of the series to their score included, so most of viewers that rated it when it was 1 ep their scores aren't counted now, only 10k votes is counted from overall 48k votes. Mod Edit: Title to tag issue as resolved. |

Must be a glitch. I doubt this has less ratings than obscure shit like the blue seed DVD specials. |

There's something wrong. If you look at the Stats tab, there's over 9,000 people that gave it a 10 but for some reason it says there are only 950 scorers. Must be a mistake. |

Must be a mistake. 90% of voters have been flagged as trolls or brigading. It was obvious this would happen when they implemented this hastily made system just to remove a smutty anime from top 100. They broke reviews and after 5 years they still are unable to fix them, now they broke scores too. Great... |
Humans are suspicious and jealous creatures. When they see something perfect, they wanna find a flaw. Ratohnhaketon said: You have much to learn if you have not joined the witch hunt to down vote every anime that rises above our underrated favorites. I am currently on a campaign to get Training with Hinako into the top 12. Shit taste is hard to fight though, it's like trying to talk sense to an army of hallucinating loonies. Ty-Ki said: It's hilarious to see morons wasting more time with the series they hate so much than the fans of it. |

I hope this get fixed soon or at least a mod check this thread and tell us what happened It might be because the number of episodes has been updated from 1 to 6 (since I think it was released both as a movie and as six individual episodes) and that is why all of the reviews now show "completed 1 out of 6". If so, then most people who marked 1 wouldn't count because you need to watch at least 1/5 in order to be counted in the score process. Now, they would only be counted as 1/6, which isn't enough. This is my theory which may be incorrect or irrelevant in this case. Or it might be a temporary glitch. |

It's a not a issue from brigade detection, it's merely the episode count change. I wonder it it's possible to automatically change a batch of users from 1/6 to 6/6 or if they are stuck until the user manually does it. |
Good Lord, BeanChagBear just walked through the clubhouse walking perfectly normally. He said he had “no time” to talk. Too busy watching anime, evidently. |

I finished Zoku on May 20th and it was a 6 episode thing, so I think it was always 6 episodes. That and I don’t remember the score being 8.25 when I had updated it so it must’ve happened sometime between May 20th to now. |

The episode count definitely changed from 1 to 6 at a certain point recently because I only just saw the episode count error on MAL-GRAPH recently and I check it every week or so. If you see the reviews you can see they only completed the watch with 1 out of 6. |

Pretty sure when it was a single “episode” it was like 8.65, looks like it’ll just be at 8.37. Still think it’s wrong though since it says only 3,350 people are scored it lol. |

It seems people don't know how MAL scores works so I should post it here: How are MyAnimeList scores calculated? All scores given in the database are calculated as a weighted score. Weighted Score = (v / (v + m)) * S + (m / (v + m)) * C S = Average score for the anime/manga v = Number users giving a score for the anime/manga † m = Minimum number of scored users required to get a calculated score C = The mean score across the entire Anime/Manga database † Note that v does not correspond to the "number of scored users" as seen on the database page. Scores from users who have not viewed 1/5 of the series upon its completion are not included. Scores given from illegitimate accounts created to sway votes are also not included in the scoring algorithm. The vote of people who complete it as 1/6 won't count in the weighted score... |

Can you brief them about this glitch again!! sorry for bothering you with this I actually did, and it is to do with what was previously mentioned about "Scores from users who have not viewed 1/5 of the series upon its completion are not included." I'm not sure if anything can or will be done at this point. I know users should have watched 1/5 of the series to their score get counted, but the movie was originally included as a 1 episode, and number of episodes suddenly changed to 6, most of viewers rated it when it was one episode, now their scores aren't counted. |

So if it's not fixed by that, I'll give them another jab about it. Two months have passed already! @HaChiiman I discussed this problem with the tech team ~2 weeks ago when Shymander mentioned it to me. Before that, I think we assumed it was part of the other calculation errors affecting the DB. We determined a solution, and will implement it as soon as the tech team is able. The server instabilities are giving them a lot of grief at the moment... orz. |

@Simar Thanks for poking me. I checked our bug tracker and see recent activity on this issue from the dev team, so it's still in progress and hasn't been forgotten. |

@Kineta Just wondering if there's any updates on when the score issue will be fixed? :) |

This issue has been fixed. Scored Users is now ~55k, instead of ~20k, and the score has gone up a bit as well. Thank you for your patience! (Also, sorry I was unable to reply to the mentions from November.) |

(Also, sorry I was unable to reply to the mentions from November.) Will it take time to update visually? It's still displaying as 21k scored Statistics seem fine though Score should be at something like 8.5ish from statistics instead of 8.42 right now though. Unless there's been boosting going on and it was weighted but it doesn't seem as Zoku Owari is being boosted or downvoted too heavily for manipulation |

PrasantGrG said: It wasn't when I posted last night. The entry seems to have travelled back in time while I was asleep :'DIt's still displaying as 21k scored Dev team should be asleep now so they'll follow up on it "tomorrow". It normally would have taken a few days to update (since it's completed) but we forced it to update on release. Perhaps the calculation code gods didn't like that :'DDD Anyway, it'll be sorted soon. |

Thanks Kineta and the dev team for getting this done! And thank you HaChiiman and everyone else in this thread who pushed the issue until it got done. It took a while folks, but the fruits of the labor finally paid off. |
