Yup, the final episode of this season. The most important fight for Hiroto and everyone...

To me, this definitely has the feeling of a finale with everyone's fighting spirit. Even Nanami is relevant in this fight. I guess that entity realized the power of bonds, something that it didn't have. For Mei, I think she learned a lot about human feelings.

Tbh, I'm going to miss this anime. It's one of the few mech shows I've seen this year and lived up to my expectations.

Holy hell, this finale was amazing!

The battle of GBN turned into one of the biggest animation spectacles of the year that's every bit the fanservice spectacle we've come to expect from the Build series as a whole. We get even more answers for strange phenomena in GBN, and some satisfying and resonant payoffs to several character arcs! Hearing the SFX version of the OP was also a real treat.

It's hard not to feel for Alus and what he's been through, especially as we see his mental breakdown in real time. He was one of the better Gundam villains.

That was... amazing. What can I say? I was grinning all throughout! Lots of great scenes here.
I didn't expect much from yet another Divers show when this was first announced, but it turned out to be a very enjoyable show.

This is not your planet to rule. The Fallen shall rise again.

What a finale! A great team raid with plenty of flairs and references and everyone getting their little moments here and there. So many things to unpack, so many things to take in. The ending was incredibly satisfying and the cast is fantastic, loved how the main characters grew over the series.
Definitely worth the watch!

I've to admit that my prediction is wrong that the whole town as teleported to somewhere else before the beam hit, look like it get destroyed for real and hundreds of Eldora citizen died.

Build is my favorite, no, more like the only watchable Gundam part, I'm wondering if Build Fighter and Diver will cross the path together someday, instead of introducing new Build ...er.

Penguin Research (OP artist) is the name of scanning method in the beginning of this episode??? LOL

We've GPD (Gunpla Duel) and GBN (Gunpla Battle Nexus), what will be the next step? Bringing a real Gundam war into the real world?

I have to say that this was a massive improvement over the first season. We finally got to see where the El-Divers came from and see old characters along the way.

You have to love the finales for Gundam shows. It's always an epic all out brawl. Nearly all of the old characters got some sort screen time, Hinata was able to see GBN, and we learned May is a reincarnation of Eve.

With the world building from this show, the door is always open for the story to continue.

I'm honestly having a hard time choosing a rating for this season as on the one hand it's a major improvement over the first season on the other hand its also a step back.

now I argued with my friends all day before making this post, hell we even rewatched the last two episodes to justify our arguments. In the end I changed it from a 5 to a 6. now for those interested in why I originally rated this a 5 and the points that made me change it to a 6 just click the button be warned might be long.

My original reasoning for rating this a 5 had to do with the fact that it didn't feel like a gunpla series but rather an actual gundam series. now that's not necessarily a bad thing but it lacked what previous gunpla seasons had which was promoting or rather showing off gunplas that makes you say I want that. Yes I'm aware that's a really stupid reason for rating a season and again the story is great a major improvement over the previous one and if it wasn't a gunpla or build series and just a regular gundam series this would have been a solid 8 maybe 7. however that's not the only reason why I originally I rated it so low the other reason was Hinata or rather wasted potential. Hinata to me is that one character that they had an idea of what they wanted to do with but somewhere along the way they just forgot she existed and when they realized it they had to figure out a way to include her (and hiroto's parents) in the season. now what I mean by that is that she could have been the fifth member of build divers right away instead of just adding her at the end (poorly by the way) but instead they just try to tie her in as much to the story as possible like masaki's sister being her senpai or she hangs out with hiroto's parents (which is really weird especially during her archery thing where hiroto's parents say that they're often mistaken for her parents). what really get's me is that she's obviously supposed to be hiroto's love interest but I guess the writer's thought "no get away you nobody, make way for the best girl may". I mean she shows so much interest in hiroto and obviously wants to get closer but she never does anything she never tries to build her own gundam, never really talks to him, never tries to go to gbn and never ask's anyone for help. I mean come on I was expecting her to ask masaki about understanding more about gunplas and gbn as well as eldora buuuuuuut nope nothing even close to that happens instead she's having trouble with her archery, she's loosing focus, she's afraid that's it... that's literally it. she literally could have been removed from the season and the show wouldn't have suffered if anything it might have improved that's how much of a waste she was.

now the gundams I'm not going to lie they sucked every single one of them, good concepts bad designs now I want to be very clear I'm talking about the main cast build divers (and maybe masaki) not the other's that appeared in the final battle (because that new version of that no name astray is definitely on my list of must buys). Honestly the designs we're a miss for me at first aegis knight looked awesome then did that weird claw/funnel thing and then was like nope don't want it anymore. that one scene ruined it for me that one scene but it still is an improved design but not by much. par's really didn't impress me either mainly because it didn't really look all that different except that it's now a longer dragon but when it goes into it's sd form I genuinely don't notice a single difference from the previous season other than now it can use it's own unique version of a trans-am (which by the way I still find weird because it's not all that different from a regular trans-am at all not in speed or power just that it goes by a different name). moving on to core gundam not going to lie the armor pieces are nice but the actual gundam design's when it combines feels like it's missing something but I can't really figure out what. the idea that it's an interchangeable gundam with multiple armor's is nice in concept but other than venus, the sniper one and the one they used for getting to space none of the other one's looked good, the weapons were nice but yeah that's about it. moving on to may what can I say may's the best but her gundam didn't change and I'm talking about the actual may gundam not the one she normally pilots all that thing got was blue armor hell her sister's gundam got an upgrade but not her's. in terms of which of them I would buy the answer is none of them I already have 3 may's from the previous season because she was the only one worth getting and this may doesn't have any improvements so why would I buy this version or for that matter any of them? and that's the problem none of the gundams are interesting enough to want to buy which is kind of sad when you consider the fact that the entire build series was made to advertise and sell gunpla kits and this season failed at that (except for that awesome no name astray I really want that astray).

What changed my mind? well my friends pointed out that this season as well as the previous one were trying to take a more story driven route as opposed to the previous seasons which I agree but also respond with "then why not just make a different gundam series instead of trying to make it a gunpla series it would have been received better"? to which they follow with "yes the series did suffer I kinda wanted to drop it after 6 episodes of story, no fighting, forced insertion of characters, nothing really happening and not really all that exciting to watch but in-spite of all that every build series pays off at the end and I'm glad I continued to watch cause those last two episodes we're some of the best episodes re:rise had to offer". to which I quickly respond "isn't really saying much". he did however make a good point that every build series pays off at the end especially with that scene with all the gbn members fighting it out trying to complete this event mission. however he didn't disagree with hinata being wasted potential but he did like aegis gundam and may but absolutely bashed on core gundam and morgiana way more than I did. besides that what made me change my mind was how he explained that they took a risk by making it more story and lore focused some might not have liked that (like myself) but if you ignore that it's a gunpla series and just view it as it's own thing it's really worth watching. which he was right I did enjoy this and that final fight was amazing and although I have my issues like hiroto basically being setsuna 2.0 just not as good or the self proclaimed leader getting a furry waifu that he doesn't deserve or how may is just a reincarnated eve (which is still bs) or par... aside from par fixing the wing he didn't get much in terms of development but besides that and literally everything I mentioned before this was enjoyable and talking it out with him helped me change my rating from a 5 to a 6 (which did the exact opposite for anne happy which went from a 7 to a 6 then a 5 and as I'm writing this a 4).

Welp this show failed to live up to OG build fighters. Try, divers and re:rise introduced new concepts but failed to deliver a hard punchline.

Surprisingly I was right about may being eve in some way. Basically this show is pretty uninteresting. even the deaths in this show was hilarious. alus as a villain was a total joke. i hope the next build series gets properly developed.

I would never hate on a Build series because they all have heart and charm and I love them all. But this one pretty much exhausted the last idea. The featured gunpla were uninspiring and the dog people of Eldora seemed like pieces of some failed other anime that got shoehorned in for convenience.

I enjoyed the first Divers series just as a good Saturday morning chill anime, but i didn't think it was really amazing or anything.

Re:Rise however, what a turn around compared to the first series. After the first couple episodes it was really entertaining to watch and i think it ended fairly strong. Curious as to whether the scene at the end means anything more. What do you guys think?

I'm not a fan of climaxes that get "Everyone" involved to the degree that our heroes feel kind of lost somewhere in the middle, and since the stakes are immediately dropped upon entering a virtual world it lessens the impact of this final episode unfortunately. I think, although this would have stretched the idea of GBN even more than they have been, that had Alus somehow manifested on the real earth it would have been a much intimidating final battle. However, doing something would have needed more time to do right, at least one more episode if not more. I also find the revelations about EL-Divers, while forshadowed and guessed by many, were a bit too tacked on to be given the weight they deserve. A revelation that huge should be shown to have an impact on our protagonists.

This said, an uninteresting follow up to the previous "Final" battle and questionable last minute world building does not marr the show too much I feel. There has been so much done so very well, it's honestly inspiring what the studio has accomplished with this sequel. I've come to really care a great deal about the world of Eldora, and the epilogue of the characters hanging out there (thank god they can still visit!) made me happy. Especially Kazami standing next to Maiya, I don't care if it's cringe I definitely ship them.

GIANT GUNDAM PUNCH FROM THE SKY!!!

So yeah, I enjoyed this series a lot. It makes me sad that most people probably wouldn't get a lot of the references and all of the different mobile suits that were shown. I was quite a surprise that this "isekai" gundam entertained me as much as I did.
