Great wall of text ahead.

Some background— I watched this movie a couple weeks ago on Youtube. It was adorable, a little sad, and... completely in Japanese. No subs, and I'm not sure if there's a fansubbed version anywhere since it's a fairly obscure kodomo movie/series. Haven't had much luck trying to find one. In any case, it's a movie for little kids and pretty easy to follow. It's not hard to find plot summaries either, albeit on Japanese websites.

I grew up watching "Tama & Friends", the 4Kids-dubbed version of the
3 Choume no Tama series. If you check out the Wikipedia page for Tama & Friends, it says 4Kids only dubbed 13 episodes (26 segments).

Seems like they just wanted some cheap, kid-friendly anime that was easy to half-ass a dub and drop. Beats me why they screwed around with the order and pairing of episode segments so much, though. I know there's a few episodes they'd probably skip. Like "Wandering Collar"/"Devil Pochi". (If you know, you know.) Others, I can only assume their reasoning was something silly like "too Japanese".

Now about this movie...

According to Lost Media Archive, an admittedly iffy source, 4Kids might've dubbed this movie in addition to 13 episodes of the Tama & Friends series. There's two bits of evidence that might support the existence of an English dub.

1) This video of clips from the movie, with the 4Kids English voice cast and translated(?) lines. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C6nK4icBRc0

This is the uploader's only video, and they haven't been active since 2006. As much as I'd love to contact them and ask where they got this footage, I'm not sure if they'd respond back.

As for the video itself... It certainly could be a compilation of clips from a dubbed version of "Onegai! Momo-chan wo Sagashite", but I've got this nagging feeling that footage was only dubbed and used for teasers/trailers or something. If that makes sense. As in, ads for Tama & Friends that'd air on Kids WB or wherever else it was syndicated. Who knows.

2) The English Tama & Friends OP has clips from the movie. (Compare with the Japanese OP.) I'm not gonna link to the movie itself, but it's on Youtube (and I think NicoNico?) if you'd like to compare.

So... 4Kids at least had access to this movie, and decided to use bits and pieces of it in their edited theme song, but it's unknown if they actually dubbed the whole thing.

If it exists, is the 4Kids dubbed version of "Onegai! Momo-chan wo Sagashite" even worth looking for? Probably not. As much as I liked Tama & Friends as a kid, the dubbed voices were a bit grating and most (if not all) of the music was replaced. And that's just in the episodes they dubbed. I can only imagine how much more annoying their 'tweaks' to a rather decent (and poignant) 45-minute movie would be. There's especially a really nice song towards the end, and that likely would've been replaced due to licensing issues, the fact there's Japanese vocals, or whatever other reasons.

Still, it's an interesting mystery to me. The 4Kids-dubbed Tama & Friends episodes are on Youtube, all 13 of them last I checked, and the show never received a home video release. If there's a dubbed version of "Onegai! Momo-chan wo Sagashite", it's absolutely nowhere online. Even the Wikipedia page doesn't seem to acknowledge its existence, as far as I can tell.

Sorry for rambling so much, and definitely let me know if you have any clues about the 4Kids dub of this movie! ^^;
