THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
Now that the preliminary tournament is over, we can finally dive into more of the plot, and this episode's a BIG one that Webtoon readers have been waiting for: Nox vs. The Six, and the claim of the power element known simply as "The Key".

Jin Mori's adoptive grandpa Jin Tae-Jin facing off against the cultist group, the Nox, the TRUE fight's about to begin!

The prelims over, and the nationals to choose the representatives are up next. The Judges have every right to monitor the current situation against the Nox, and this'll be a VERY HEATED battle to come.

As for Jin, Mira and Daewi, the 3-on-3 team tournament only serves to upskill their powers and strength. Their involvement in the big picture is nowhere this big for now (but intuition through Mira and Daewi has uncovered this), the engagement will definitely change the entire game. Meanwhile, Jin still in his own world and training for the purpose of being strong.

Na Bong-Chim's presence as one of the former Six is NOT to be underestimated, and Park Mu-jin's summoning is the first step to containing them as best as possible. His meeting with Jin was a short one, but a very important one.

Quite happy to see the blind Judge T a.k.a Shim Bong-Sam and his family of wife and children, even if it was a short moment and teaching Mira his deal of experience pertaining to her Moon Light Sword powers, albeit himself being one blinded by the same power. It's sad that his death by the Nox was a quick and swift one (along with Commissioner Q), and the tyranny will only continue to be THIS BAD.

Daewi may have won the battle but lost the war, but Park Mu-jin has faith in him to continue this war, the opponents that are vastly different in Charyeok.

"Drawing forth the power of the gods and making them one's own...is what God of High School Is about."
More characters incoming, although their introductions are kept swiftly short to build things up.

Rushed episode as usual (well, what's new?), but hype incoming.

Kinda sad that the show has fallen so far in ratings on MAL as of late, dropped from an 8 to a 7.8, I think the episodes have been getting better if anything.

We got some very important backstory to the powers we saw on display a couple episodes ago and an introduction to the power system of the series.

These Nox guys must be insanely strong if they made short work of Q who we saw had crazy power a few weeks ago. Scary stuff, can’t wait to see where we go from here.

Also, saddens me to think Sim’s kid is going to grow up without their dad :/

Meh, the buildup episode this week was boring. The training looked more or less like a joke and while there's something darker going on behind the scenes, it's not making me feel interested in it.

I guess I'll look forward to some of the upcoming fights as long as it's meaningful.

Not impressed by this week's episode at all.

Even more super natural bullshit without a single thing explained. This time we have some cult that's similar to rezero's witch cult.

The announcer seemed to be killed by some organization called nox, well that means we will at least have some fights in future with evil organization and all.

Also stop complaining about score dropping and get some taste in anime. This anime has horrible pacing issues and it deserves the drop. The director doesn't know how to build things up.

RIP the commentator... so now it's 3v3 matches, it seems interesting and we can expect more things with the team play, and the main villain organization is still quite mysterious...

A build up episode for the upcoming episodes thou due to horrible pacing it felt like one random thing after another happened.

We got to see some other GOH participants and damn Mori's grandpa is a beast.

Sigh the announcer is already dead and even Q is down, things sure got quite messy really fast.

Compared to the webtoon this adaptation is garbage. Things were dealt so much better in the webtoon. Give the webtoon a try and you'll surely understand.

So the cult is named Nox and they are already making a move by having the announcer and Q killed.

Well, not a bad buildup episode. We finally got a bit info on the supernatural stuff in this show.

Welp, this is even true for Tower of God, because the pacing is already horrible to begin with, and correct me if I'm wrong, that sadly set the standard for Webtoon anime adaptations to follow thereafter.

The score can drop. It's a 10/10 for me and it will only drop if they really fuck up in the second half. This ep. made me hype for next week. Gives me vibes of the Chuunin exam from Naruto.
The only weak episode was ep 4.

Pretty sure you havn't read that far in the webtoon. While I'm not claiming it's a masterpiece or even close to one and yes it has it's downside, a lot tbh but overall it has been a great journey. Maybe my opinion is a bit biased cause I've been reading it since 2015 but tbh I'd still stay it's a great action webtoon.

You are pretty accirate tbh. TOG adapted entire season 1 of the webtoon which was 70 chapters iirc and from the looks of it GOH anime is gonna do the same. Adapt entire season 1 of GOH which is even worse 110 chapters.

This episode was very nice as a breather. It really felt slow. And god the comedy in the beginning was so nice.

However, I have a new found hate for the mc. The most basic-simple minded character I have ever seen. The author/creator said he uses Tekken 7 and other fighting games as a reference/inspiration, well goddamn he should be a shame, this is an insult. You'll have 1 or 2 of those simple characters but at least their likable. Nothing about Jin is likable.

Now on the other hand, his grandpa, boi!!!!!!!!!!!! I am lowkey hype.

Also I get the feeling now that demon powers being explained and whatnot that this story's action is about to turn into OPM x HXH x DBZ. That's just my hunch tho seeing Jin's grandpa destroy a forest with his kick, lol.

Another lowkey hype moment was the introduction of The Six but not as hype as Jin's grandpa to be honest.

So............ I might be missing something but in regards to the plot, are the tournament organizers the real villains or is now this group called Nox? (If I did miss something forgive me, first time being weekly watcher to seasonal anime)

The organizers are good people, the Nox itself is your typical villain team who comes to be a disruption and change the course of the game to benefit people as tools for their gain. In a nutshell, generic.

Damn... You must hate 80% of the shounen MCs. He is another Goku and that's fine. He is funny, dumb, friendly and likes his friends more than anything. The only troop missing is eating 10000 bowls of food like it's nothing.

So Nox is the cloak and hood groupie? I thought the tournament commissioners or whoever organized GoH are with Nox, it seems they're a different group altogether and having their own conflict of interest. Apparently they've got Charyeok magic summoning shite too! Are the cloak and hood team from Jeju shipping with Nox too or that's just their mojo?

The "pear"-looking fruit they gave to Jin last time before his match which maybe-almost-killed-him, so that's the Sage Fruit?

I almost took one of the newly introduced character's grandfather/and one of the Six to be Batou from GitS. LOL

One Piece is better than this even with its slow ass pacing. I just watch this for the fights. The webcomic is just as bad so honestly isc if its rushed still a 5/10 because of how stupid the writing gets.

And we're back, one great episode and then we're back to the same shit. What the actual hell is going on in this episode? I can't believe I had to rewatch this episode right after I watched it for the first time, shits way too confusing.

I was just started to like the announcer guy after seeing his cute little family and how he was blind, I was starting to feel for him, and boom. The guy dead. Welcome to God of High School.

I know comedy is subjective, but most of the comedy isn't working out with me. Like how is it funny when everything literally goes chibi and then Mori starts rolling on the ground?

6 god damn episodes in and still nothing was explained about the cult or the stand thingys. "It will be explained next episode!" sigh. Half of the time I don't know what the hell is going on. There are cards dropping here and there, people getting killed, some guy name Q got killed, more cards are being dropped, homeless guy, some kind of witch cult, Jesus it's all a mess.

That is your argument? Lol nice try. This ain't 2012 buddy, you need to grow with time. No one will give you acceptance just cause you hate on SAO. SAO is actually good and if you still hate it on 2020 then you're nothing but another blind hater. One Piece is actually good for what it is, it is one of the big three, how about getting better arguments before making dumbass comments like this?

Damn, this episode was rushed compared to the other episodes. I haven't read the Webtoon yet so can't really compare the episodes and how much they are rushed. But this one felt rushed. It would have been nice seeing the characters train imo. I didn't know Jin Mori's grandpa Jin Tae-Jin was alive. But damn is he strong af.

Seeing Jin, Mira and Daewi in a team fight will be very intense and interesting. Hope there are more intense fights in the future episodes. Park Mu-jin summoning The Six seems like something interesting is coming. Even if they were introduced quickly like the other characters.

It was nice to see blind Judge T, a.k.a Shim Bong-Sam and his family with one cute baby. But it was sad to see that he was killed by the Nox. And even Commissioner Q, who is supposed to be the strongest commissioner was killed by Nox.

Anyways, hopefully, the next episode isn't as rushed.

also people making such statements have watched only 1583 episodes and haven't watched 1 of the titles they mentioned , yes the pacing is a bit rushed . Also what kind of insult is that ? Also if 6 episodes of an anime is enough to make it your favourite then don't think that it would be void of any criticism
