| THIS IS A MANGA ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS ANYTHING BEYOND THIS CHAPTER. ---------------------------------------- This chapter served as something quite important! Firstly, we got a more in-depth look into Gin’s ambition. Through Izawa he wants to push into governance over the business world, control of banks and loans, to then gain power over the biggest companies in the world. While depicting this, we continue to see Gin covered in shadow like a demon, if I recall this was the initial way Gin was depicted as Domon entered the room too. We also triggered a death flag for Gin! Morita is his successor and if he dies tomorrow then his boy will continue on his path!! That's definitely quite scary, our second leading man has been set up to die at any time. But before that we should probably get to know him a little better, such as why his ambition is so far reaching. This may be answered, or at least become a closer look into who Gin really is. All the way back before the serial killer arc, we had Gin speak about ‘the old man’ as, what seems to me, a mentor figure. Morita represented somebody that filled all of said old man’s requirements, as if he was being trained for this old man's ambition. It seems time we meet this man. Of course, I suppose this could be a different old man that is close with Gin and chairman to one of the biggest companies, but that would be quite the coincidence. And interestingly, the situation that presents itself is similar to the ethical murder dilemma that Morita was placed in as a test to see if he was applicable for a partnership. Recall, if I remember correctly it was a situation of Morita killing an old man who wanted to die and whose family was in on it too, a victimless murder. This is interesting because outside of the certainly different but somewhat similar situation, Gin even brought up the notion of euthanasia. I could imagine a scenario in which the murder dilemma occurred legitimately, and the information we were given was the same, however it was actually lies from a family who was going against the will of the old man. Lastly and most importantly, while Morita has been given full control over this mission and shown a great display of trust in doing so, he has been given a partner, and said partner is a girl!!!! Saori Tanaka is another female supporting character in Gin to Kin!!! LET’S F*CKING GO!!!!!! That was honestly the biggest surprise that could have been pulled on me, Fukumoto certainly draws female characters, however it isn't so common that they play meaningful roles alongside his male leads. Therefore, it's really a pleasure to see. I look forward to getting to know her. |
