DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Episodes 11-14 were streamed on Netflix Japan on June 16th. this time it's Cynthia's arc, holding a grudge against some world renowned auctioneer James Coleman. was pretty good as a setup for the arc. wonder what kind of auction machination they'll make up btw, Edamura helping out a small french cafe is the mvp. even if it's 20k euros instead of 20 million.. |

| Abby and Edamura going out was really sweet, I loved those moments. Abby with longer hair is cute. I knew he would fuck up with that painting lol. Let's see how they will get it back. End of the episode got me hyped for the case. Also props to the show for having foreign characters being played by people who actually speak the language. That's very rare to see. Last time I remember seeing that was in Giovanni no Shima movie. Really shows how much they are willing to go for this show. |

I'm actually thinking that's all talk. We haven't actually seen him with anyone, just tons of flirting. And remember, this series IS called the Great Pretender. Expert conmen who can present themselves to be anything they want to be? And Laurent has shown again and again that he's the best of the group. Considering the ring he carries and the ED, I think he has a tragic past with a lost love. I doubt he's gotten over that and so while he talks a lot of talk, I don't think he can yet get into a romantic relationship. |

There was that one ep with him in the shower and he had that ring on a necklace. If it's a wedding ring, maybe he had some tragic event happen to him were he lost his fiance/wife or something. Then that led him to be a conman. I'm sure we'll learn about his past when his arc happens in the next or final case. |

| Because of how the previous arcs started, I kept on thinking that all the bad things that were happening to Edamura were because of Laurent's plan, but this time I was proven wrong lol (unless it really was part of Laurent's plan...?) Edamura tries once more to get an honest life, but decides to con once more to help the people of his boarding house by selling a painting... except he didn't know that it's a legitimate painting by a legitimate painter. Looks like he's gonna con once more to get it back. Also, should it really matter what Laurent's sexuality is??? This is an anime about conning, not about fucking?? If it does really matter though, then if what Abby and Cynthia is true, then he's most likely bi or pan. End of discussion. We do not need to delve into these details further cause it has nothing to do with the main story. Probably. |

| Case 3, and we're on our way to London with Cynthia's arc. And once again, Edamura is toasted in his "true-to-honest" work living in France, and the boarding place which he is staying is closing in heavy debt. Ancient paintings with a unique flare, and Edamura attempts a resell of a rarer-than-life painting with marked-up prices for a conman tactic to save the boarding house, all without Laurent's help, and it went without a hitch. To think that the painting was a lucrative figure that costs millions rather than thousands, Edamura has kinda lost his gangway. Abby in her new hairstyle looks great, and she's pretty much composed in what happened over in the Singapore arc. But Cynthia's the talking point, and with the start of her arc, really wondering what's her substance as a conwoman. This arc's off to a good start. |

| Love how the second it's hinted a male character is attracted to another male everyone's quick to try and challenge the idea as much as possible. The way I see it personally: Laurent calling Edumura "cute" multiple times in earlier episodes, Abby's remark, and finally what Cynthia said to him here all clearly hint to there being an interest in Ed. Whether legitimately or just in a sexual way, I don't really care. I'm honestly just glad bi/pan people can find at least some form of representation in this genuinely great show, and in a more casual way that doesn't have to be hyper-focused on. |
