I've watched the movie and I'm wondering how anime and novels relate to each other.
A main focus in the movie is (anime spoilers):

It seems that the problems are resolved. There is nothing (interesting) left - I don't see big plot that connect each of the novels. Is it just a "one story per novel not connected to other novels"?

Well, the main plot is presented and resolved in the movie, but of course, the movie just basically summed it up because of the time restriction. Each and every book of the novel is based around a different character, a different story (except for the last two books, because that's a two-part story). Konoha and Miu's story, the main plot is introduced from the start and is resolved in the fifth installment and the movie is focusing on that. I would, however, definitely recommend reading the novel, because it's way richer and gives you a better understanding. Not to mention that Touko's story is interesting and important as well.

I see, so they are "almost" unrelated. Good to know. Thank you.

I'm trying to collect the novels currently. I have 3 of them so far.

I just finished the movie so I'm excited to read the novels to get a deeper perspective.

But I also at the same time I would love to see more of the series adapted.
