Since I already don't have a life and the quarantine has just added to it, I've probably been watching around 15 eps a day and completed over 20 titles in the last 2 weeks. The best shows I've powered through recently are definitely Nadesico, Neighbourhood Stories and Gunbuster (don't think the last one would count though, since it's only 6 eps). Nadesico was particularly entertaining in the latter half, but I don't know if it would appeal as much to someone who hasn't watched Macross as it contains a lot of Macross references.

I completed Idolmaster 2 days ago and before that I finished Gokinjo Monogatari (Neighborhood Stories) and Ascendence of a Bookworm.

Despite the Idol premise, Idolmaster I felt emphasised the slice of life elements more than other idol shows I've watched. There were a few plot points I didn't like however in general, I really liked the character interactions, was very cute and enjoyable. Would recommend if you liked the cute girls doing cute things vibe in K-on, or the dramatised comedy in Working!!.

As for Neighbourhood Stories, its a 50 episode long romance series set around 20 years before Paradise Kiss. It boasts very unique and glamorous character designs, iconic of Ai Yazawa, the original creator's work (another one of her works, Nana, is also something I would highly recommend if you're interested in a punky, romance drama) gives very particular attention to the relationships between multiple main and side characters. Episodes are usually based on short arcs, within it focusing on their interactions and troubles. Though the events sometimes felt a bit repetitive (it could have been a shorter series), overall, there was a good blend of comedy and drama which made it an enjoyable watch.

Next up, I'll probably watch something a bit shorter. Maybe something out of Hourou Musuko, Haibane Renmei or My Roomate is a Cat.
