So, can Al be used as the stone without being fucked up in the process?

Figured Scar had more to tell and that he would end up dying... but I'm eager to see how the last episodes pan out.

Very hard hitting episode, though slow. FMA really developed Lust.

I seriously hate Ed at this point , all he does is tell people that they are wrong for wanting revenge etc while he went after scar for revenge . He is pathetic while Scar was the true hero , he saved his people and did good . Dammit he didn't had to die . I want him back , I was hoping they won't kill him but ugh

i was so worried for al in this episode, thank goodness he was ok! but its an interesting choice to physically make him the stone after all that, now it means everyone will be after him and ed

lust is my favourite of the homunculi (along with envy what a dude) and i'm liking this development we have been getting of her character in the last few episodes

one thing i keep wondering is who is the "you-know-who" that the homunculi refer to as the one in charge of what they are doing, who is even left to be that guy? only 9 episodes left and i'm sure a whole lot of surprises are still in store

Wait, Scar died? Mayne, all these deaths so far have been anticlimactic. But I guess with this one a Philosopher's Stone came out of it so there's that

Surprised that the stone was actually made. I thought they could prevent it somehow but Ed seems kinda useless. He always just screams at people without making much of a difference. RIP Scar, sad that he died but at least he got shit done. :D
By the way, some scenes are just weird: Ed just killed Sloth and Wrath but he already knows that they don't stay dead. So instead of getting out of there before they recover, why not calmly chat with Rose and praise her for talking again...seriously?

What I don't understand. If Al is the stone, has the stone, doesn't that make him am Alchemist of extreme power? Or can he not tap it because he is it? weird.
Good question, I assume that he cannot. Otherwise the last 9 episodes would be meaningless since he'd be way stronger than anyone else.

One thing though, why did the town got wiped up as well? I though the ingredients are ONLY live humans?
That surprised me as well. Maybe they really ran out of budget and a desert scene was cheaper... ;)

Lust was a complete afterthought in Brotherhood but damn she is well written here. Also an unforgiving episode for the most part with death everywhere (especially Scar) and Al being the Philosophers Stone.

2022 rewatch
kinda like the previous episode this was decent but i honestly didn't care about it all that much. al is a philospher stone now so that's interesting. and archer finally died. he was cursed of being a one dimensional and unlikeable character from the start..

I didn't think we'd actually see a real Philosopher's Stone in this show but they made it and we're only 9 episode away from ending. I don't understand Lust anymore. What does she really want; is being a human really better than a Homuculi? Who is the mastermind behind all of this? So many questions. I don't like how Scat went out. I had hoped he would die in battle with Edward or the Military but he sacrificed himself for Al. 5/5 episode.
