What's this madness with wider furry spectrum than beastars lol, and even Trex teacher. Nice it's even educational with Jin talking animal tidbits while getting thru the insanity.
Looks like some good va's are joining Hanako later. Misaki Kuno just appeared at the end.
ED's kinda unique adorbs.

Thought it would be trash - actually wasn't that bad, some jokes fell flat and the OP is terrible.

I dropped this anime at approximately 1:37. This is like...the worst slapstick I've ever seen. What makes slapstick funny, is not just seeing characters get hurt, but there being some sort of set up. In the 1st minute when MC gets hurt, it happens so randomly, so out of nowhere, that it just has me more bored than anything. I can already see where this is going in humor: it's just going to be bog standard, childish, inoffensive, 5 year old anime humor.

As someone who hates kemonomimi, it irks me a little. But as a zoology nerd I really like how strongly they're basing the characters' behaviors on the animals they are. Looking forward to seeing how they're going to present those hyenas.

This show is basically Beastars on crack

and I love it
no but being actually serious, while there are many... many questionable things about this show it is just funny as fuck. I was laughing multiple times throughout this episode. The sole purpose of this show is to be funny, even if it is dumb.... it succeeds and is hilarious!!
Every single joke in this anime landed- every joke.

The girl voicing for the pinked hair wolf is amazing, her voice is so unique I haven't heard any voice actor to sound like that, almost like theyre a child. But, now that I think about it they remind me of Dororo's voice actor.
Also the OP is amazing!!!

Her voice is truly quite unique, but i knew i had heard her voice somewhere. Turns out she is Hina Kino who voiced Hanako Honda in Asobi Asobase. She made so much strange voices in that anime omg (and the character made so much strange faces).

Asobi Asobase own its on was super fun, but a lot of scenes were truly enhanced with her voice acting.

I read the manga, and this series is hilarious.

The MC is literally a walking animal encyclopedia

Tho I still find the stupid Lanka wolfgirl annoying as always... I know she's the real "heroine"...

I pretty much read/ watch this series for some of the other animal girls.

TBH, I did not expect Lanka's hair to be so bright pink...

Sorry, Jin, I'm gonna stomp on that fantasy human romance of yours in favour for the wolf-girl, 'cause they're just plain better. (source: Spice & Wolf)
"You know you've reached peak quality when a doujin is better than the actual source series." (Eg. To LOVE-Ru)

Just to list a couple of biases.
Likes: A good story, characters, writing, romance, a good plot twist or something that breaks expectations (In a good way), 'backstory' and justice.
Dislikes: Bad romance, too much fanservice, the harem genre, yuri, yaoi, and bad writing.

He disrespects ALL animals... so much, he actually has knowledge about every single animals...

I do think he can be "too much hate" toward animals, but...

I am sure anyone would get Traumatized after being beat up by 3 bears too. (get a random 5 years old kid, and have 3 adults dress up in bear costumes and beat him up, then watch the kid grow up, what does he become?)

I agree Horo is awesome and best wolf girl.

But Lanka... is just a big NO... do you really want to be constantly jumped on and licked while everything you say is being ignored and being interrupted trying to make friends with pretty much the ONLY OTHER HUMAN in the entire school? (IE: being the only other Asian guy in an entire school of Caucasian people trying to be friend the other Asian girl, but getting constantly jumped on by a midget pink-punk haired girl everytime)

You're acting like there aren't anime that had extremely weak starts and got better as the story progressed, especially over gags that are placed in starting chapters/episodes to give everyone the gist of that kind of anime it's suppose to be. I can understand dropping an anime after an episode, but to drop it after minutes (better the three rule) just seems over the top.
Also why even mention caring? I could say the same thing to you since you took the time to write how you felt about the episode and you cared enough to tell everyone you dropped it.

That's extremely rare, at least from my PoV. Plenty of anime that people say had weak starts, I thought had great starts.

Actually, I was already hesitant about watching this anime to begin with. Why haven't you considered that there are maybe other factors involved in why I dropped it?

At the time I'm writing this, I have 96 anime on my plan to watch list. I generally skip the OP and ED of anime, so I watch only about 20 minutes for each episode.

20 minutes x 96 anime = 1920 minutes divided by 60 (an hour) = 32 hours. I am not willing to spend 32 hours of my life to decide whether I'm going to like an anime or not. Especially when that plan to watch list is going to grow bigger.
Now. Aside from anime, there are a bunch of games I want to play, which will take far more hours of my life. I also have a bunch of manga I plan to read, books, movies, school, and a part time job.
Watching anime is not my job, so I'm not going to treat it like my job.

wept said:

You're not answering the question. Why do people on the internet dodge questions by asking the same question?
What do you think the purpose of episode discussion threads are for? What do you think the purpose of the social media part of MAL is for? I wanted to get my opinion out here, and was hoping someone would reply to my in a manner that is civil.

Your problem is that I dropped an anime in less than a few minutes. Yet instead of trying to convince me to pick it up again, you keep telling me that I shouldn't have dropped it. You haven't said anything to convince me to pick up this anime. Which actually has convinced me further that I was right: this is an anime with humor for 10 year olds: random, in your face, with lots of screaming, like Aho Girl, which I loathed.

This was funnier than expected. Reminded me about this show

But with cute kemonomimi girls instead. At least the main character here has a human female this time to make him company.

Genuinely surprised by the Anomalocaris director. Japanese people seems to love Anomalocaris, but still was nice to see one in an anime. Since there are also prehistoric animals in the academy such as dinosaurs I hope we can see too some cute prehistoric waifus.

That loli pink haired wolf girl is a tsundere. Jin saving Ranka's ass twice from bears and zebras. And he put the zebra girl Chloe in her place saying that zebras are donkeys than horses. By showing the students her donkey tail. And explained how zebras are more closer to donkeys because of their frame and attitudes toward others.

Harem anime isn't really my thing but I think it's winning me over for the same reason Nisekoi did: It's SO ABSURD and not taking itself seriously IN THE SLIGHTEST and there's something about when a show is just that over the top that I find endearing.

You know? As a completionist myself I can't force you to watch a whole anime you don't like but at least to watch a couple of episodes to know where things are heading is usual in these cases.

You say all the animes you've seen and others said they started weak you thought they started great, are you telling me you thought Punchline had a great start?!1! (Don't know if you've seen it but the good part of that anime begun at the end of the 4th episode so that's one example I give).

I won't say you'd like this one as I see you didn't like Aho Girl (or maybe you did the same and didn't even watch the first episode but just a gag), but being this elitist can't be good; I personally think having a "trash food" anime to watch every once in a while is good, to make a comparison, is like if you only ate gourmet food, they would all be delicious and refined dishes but after a while it would get boring and the gourmet food would just be "normal" in the end, but that's just my opinion which I'm not supposed to give.

I'm not an elitist. I don't like this anime, so I'm not going to watch it.
I'm confused: you saw my score on Aho Girl, so surely you also saw I completed it?
No, I'm not going to waste my time watching an anime I don't enjoy, much less complete it. I originally thought Aho Girl was hilarious in the first few episodes, but then I realized it was absolutely a pathetic comedy, but still kept watching it out of fascination. But those days of finishing anime I hate out of fascination are over. I never understood the completionist mindset, because it results in wasting so much time on stuff you don't care for: isn't the point of entertainment to be, well, entertaining? If it doesn't entertain you, then don't continue watching it. You can spend that time doing much more fun things.

Never said I saw your score, you were the one who mentioned Aho Girl as an example and I just read that.

About not liking and therefore not watching is okay, but the "humor for 10 year olds" thing does sounds elitist for me, don't know about you.

And the mindset might just be an OCD thing, at least that's my case, where I don't want to leave "unfinished tasks" so I try not to drop the animes I watch (that's why I try to be careful with the ones I start watching even tho I use my gut to do so). And about doing other fun things rather than watching an anime I don't like... Not really my case... Still, 99% of the time my gut has been right (only one that comes to mind and was a total burden was Valkyrie Drive Mermaid) so, so far we good.

In that case, I'm confused what elitist means: because I assumed that it means someone who thinks their tastes in anime are superior than others.

Never said I saw your score, you were the one who mentioned Aho Girl as an example and I just read that.

Ah, sorry. In that case, my bad.

About not liking and therefore not watching is okay, but the "humor for 10 year olds" thing does sounds elitist for me, don't know about you.

In that case, I'm confused what elitist means: because I assumed that it means someone who thinks their tastes in anime are superior than others.

In that case, I hope you're good at picking anime you know you will like.

Well, being elitist really means that, but I was explaining how saying the anime had a humor "just for kids" (not quote on quote) sounds elitist because kids are dumb and inexperienced.

And thanks, me too, again, so far so good, I'm happy with my choices from the ending season and, for now, the news ones I'm beginning from this next one are good.

(Probably realized this but I rarely log in)

Maybe saying "the humor is for kids" wasn't what I meant: more like, the humor is just...stupid. Generally, when I watch comedy anime, it's like watching a 6 year old screaming and begging me to laugh. Or to put it in a more formal way, comedy anime, this one especially, just throw random jokes on the screen with no buildup, have characters overreact to everything, pointing out the joke, and expect me to laugh. With little irony. And it annoys me. Aho Girl pretty much is all this.
Konosuba felt more grounded, in the sense that the comedy came from the horrible characters just...being themselves. I never felt the characters unnecessarily overreacted. The jokes would actually evolve into a bigger joke episodes later.

Well, it's just what it is, you don't like slapstick humor and that's fine, I personally love that humor, specially when I just watch something with my brain off (so to say). But anyways, hope you have a good repertoire to watch in this season.

And I agree, in Konosuba the jokes are outstanding because it's just about the characters interactions and the way they're presented.
