| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Welp, the school life of Hatena Illusion. Ema is so popular! Kana's personality between her double life and school life may take some time to get used to. At least their uniform looks nice I guess. It also seems this anime is taking its time to get the audience used to its character chemistry between him and Makoto. |

 Man that Kokomi was really annoying, but it looks like her bodyguard/assistant seem very suspicious, I'm guessing she probably one of those spies sent by some evil organization to steal some of those so called "artifacts." |

| Looks like the visuals are already taking a dip. Pretty disappointed in the non existent ecchi. Genre tag needs to be removed. What kind of ecchi anime has a girl fall onto a guy only to land normally on them instead of face inbetween legs? Pft. Weak. |

| The animation seemed really janky this episode, especially the facial expressions and mouth movements. The episode also felt a little strange story-wise but I can't really tell why. So far the anime is fine overall but it seems to be missing something but I can't put my finger on it. |

| Story wise we got some trivia and all but....just what the fuck happened to the animation? I am getting My Sister My Writer vietnam flashbacks here. Anyway, not that I have high expectations, just deliver some good humor and/or romance xD. |
| I still like the direction, characters and voice acting. OP song is probably my favorite of this season. But what the hell happened with animation? It's only 2nd episode... I'm rarely complaining about the animation (unless it's 3DCG of course), but that was pretty bad. I would understand if it was about action scenes and character movement. But even mouth animation? |

| It's only Episode 2, and the infallible has happened in the animation department. Clearly new studios are made without firm foundation (for majority of the time) and this show is reeling in its effect. In Hatena's family, magic input into items named Artifacts that was once a family secret, now strewn around the world for evil, and her family (Hatena being in-training in particular) is gearing to retain these magical items back. And Makoto, being ALSO in-training for the family's butler, caps learning points. Standard decent fare of clichés. I sense the devilish evil in Kokomi despite her playful, childish self, and though in relation to Hatena through "company subsidiaries". Mediocre and still boring episode... |

| What the fuck happened to the animation and character designs? Holy shit it was like I was back in the early 90's. This was almost unwatchable. Add in the fact that this was another episode that was insanely boring. The only good thing so far is Ema and the Younger sister. Thats it. |

| I still want to like this but it feels sort of empty right now. There's the makings of an interesting premise. I really like the world-building we're getting. The art is nice even if the animtion isn't as good as first episode which had some really great flashes. I think the main girl has a really cute design. But as this poster said... And as other posters have said, this doesn't live up to the ecchi tag at all right now. It feels like if one wants good ecchi these days, it's old anime or bust. And yes that's a pun because every ecchi I've watched in the past year has been been "look big boobs lol" rather than actual erotic content. |

| shocking but not that shocking to see such a quality drop in the 2nd episode calling it this show will get delayed at one point this season as for the episode i didn't find much to enjoy due to Hatena sucking any small amount of joy out of it and the tropes are real in this one. show feels pretty souless |

| I'm relieved that I'm not the only person who noticed the serious drop in animation quality. The plot in general isn't even that bad, but the awkward, crude-looking animation was a huge hurdle to get over in order to enjoy Hatena Illusion this week. Here's hoping episode three will look a little better. |
| Wow the quality drop on the animation tho.. Is it just me because Hatena just so annoying? She really gets on my nerve lol with her bitchy tsundere attitude especially her unreasonable hating on mc is just so cliche and meh adding to "beat the shit out of mc with no actual reason" as well, her reason to hate him just because he is a "boy" also sound stupid.. The mc also pretty lame, well i can guess how this anime turn out later.. |

| Egh, I didn’t really have super high expectations of this show but I thought it could be kind of a cute and fun watch initially, but it’s just, really boring.. the animation dipped considerably since the last episode, though I wouldn’t have had as much of a problem with that if the story/characters were interesting. At the moment I’m not sold on them at all. And i just. I really can’t hack Hatena. She irritates me so much, I hope her character improves. My stubborn ass won’t let me drop this show though so I guess I’ll carry on watching and see where it goes. |

| And so... this is basically another version of "Hayate no Gotoku" after they introduced magic (king jewels) into the series.... Where they have to go around and find/ steal Artifacts. So... judging by this episode, they're going to spend most times at school... are they even going to travel around and find Artifacts? (or will this somehow turn into something like all the Artifact just goes toward them for some reason and they'll have a huge battle and shit, IE: Fate series plots) BTW, Ema, highschool maid... red-hair maid is still the best thing in this series. ___ ___ ___ And we still don't have an explaination why the girl hates males so much even tho she goes to a regular school and not a girls only school. (since girls that attends girls only usually ends up having complications about being near males, unlike regular school where girls gets used to being around males) ___ ___ ___ Also, I noticed the lil'sis has a 3-monitor PC set up... |

| Idk, I am pretty okay with this anime, sure it is nothing too great but for now, it seems plenty watchable. There is a pretty serious backstory of the existence of these magical artifacts, I wonder if they will be doing anything more serious stuff with them or the anime will be a just basic rom-com (it might be fine for me either way). Also, I am super glad the anime is not living up to that ecchi tag. I guess art has become quite worse, but as long as it is watchable I usually don't really care. I find Hatena to be okay, sure she is somewhat the basic tsundere character, but in recent times I tried to continue watching The Familiar of Zero and Shakugan no Shana, compared to the classic tsunderes there she is totally fine. Also for me, it helps that she has this long scarf thing, there are some anime girls I really liked and had this long scarf as a part of their image. Sadly, this is often only explained in later parts of the show where some people might already have tuned out. It is sort of explained though. It is very simple: she wants him gone from their house. It is a mistake why he is there in the first place, as Hatena thought he was a girl, and when things got clear she immediately changed her mind about having him in the house, but then others didn't let her. Here is a not so great theorical real-life example: I am renting a room of an apartment, my old flatmate moves out, so my landlord is searching for new people for the other room. There is this dude, who looks okay, so I am agreeing to meet him. Although it turns out he is a crackhead, so I change my mind about having him in the other room, but the landlord gives him the room anyway. Wait, do I need a specific reason to hate new poeople in my life (male or female), am I playing this game of life thing wrong? xd Anyway I think by inviting "her", Hatena wanted a friend, that friend turning out to be a boy complicates things, that's what she doesn't like. He isn't the person she had in her mind, but after a while in future they probably will be getting along better. They also mentioned the school turning into co-ed just this year, so maybe she thought it was an all girls school. |
