The official website for the Strike the Blood anime series revealed four new cast members on Sunday for its fourth original video animation, Strike the Blood IV. Two new key visuals—one depicting the series' new heroine, Shizuri Castiella Kasugaya (pictured right)—were also unveiled.

Synopsis
Koujou Akatskuki awakens on a beach illuminated by moonlight. Standing over him is a girl with white hair, dressed in monk robes. "Koujou Akatskuki" she says. "I finally found you. I am Shizuri Castiella Kasugaya—your observer."

Itogami Island, 300 kilometers south of Tokyo, is Japan's only Demon Sanctuary. With no memories other than his own name, Koujou faces a harsh mission on the shores of the solitary island.

Cast
Shizuri Castiella Kasugaya: Saya Aizawa (Chio-chan no Tsuugakuro)
Yuno Amase: Ayaka Asa (Mairimashita! Iruma-kun)
Rui Miyazumi: Seiichirou Yamashita (Orange)
The Blood: Souma Saitou (Haikyuu!!)

Staff and cast from previous anime installments will be returning to work on Strike the Blood IV at animation studio Connect.

Volume 1 containing the OVA series' first two episodes was originally scheduled to release on Blu-ray and DVD on March 25, 2020, but has now been rescheduled for April 8, 2020. The next five volumes, each containing two episodes, will ship on June 24, 2020; September 30, 2020; December 23, 2020; March 24, 2021; and June 30, 2021.

Warner Bros. Japan also posted a new promotional video for the Strike the Blood: Kieta Seisou-hen special that was announced in conjunction with the fourth OVA. The special will ship on Blu-ray and DVD on January 29, 2020.

Strike the Blood is based on Gakuto Mikumo's ecchi vampire light novel of the same name, which has 20 volumes in print as of June 8. The series received a television anime adaptation in Fall 2013 and three other OVAs between 2015 and 2019.
