The 46th 2019 issue of Shueisha's Weekly Young Jump revealed on Thursday that Jun Mayuzuki will create a new manga series titled Kowloon Generic Romance (pictured). It will begin serialization in the 49th issue of the magazine on November 7.

Mayuzuki's previous series, Koi wa Ameagari no You ni (After the Rain), launched in Shogakukan's monthly Gekkan! Spirits magazine in June 2014. It transferred to Big Comic Spirits magazine—switching to weekly releases—in 2016, and ended in March this year with 82 chapters compiled into ten volumes.

A 12-episode anime adaptation from Wit Studio broadcast in Japan starting in January 2018 and streamed exclusively on Amazon Prime worldwide. The manga also received a live-action adaptation that premiered in May 2018.

Also revealed in the same issue was a new manga by Nene Yukimori, who has penned Ningen ni Koi shita Oni wa Warau in Comic Ruelle web magazine since August 2016. Yukimori's new work, titled Kubo-san wa Boku wo Yurusanai, won the popular vote in Young Jump's Shinman GP 2019 Season 5 manga contest and will be serialized beginning October 24.

Oh, that’s great news!

I, for one, really enjoyed the tv series and found the relation between the two main leads to be really interesting so here’s to hoping we’ll get another delightful treat of this sort from this new piece!

It’ll be best case scenario if Wit Studio picks this up in a couple years time or so too...

I don't know that I would read it seeing as I have way too many publishing manga to deal with as it is but if it ever gets adapted I'd be interested. After the Rain was stunning and one of the few romance anime I even like.

I don't know what kowloon means but I bet it won't be generic, judging by after the rain. The main woman looks nice.

I thought it meant Canton but it's actually the northern part of Hong Kong.

it's quite infamous.

Ah yeah, Gibson actually mentions this in one of his books. Been awhile since I've read it though.

At any rate yay for qipaos.

My fault for not reading all the info. It looks intriguing already.

Looking forward to another romance from this writer, I enjoyed KoiAme very much.

It's got a Chinese angle, so that's interesting.

I hope it is a Older Female and Younger Male romance this time. As the manga and anime industry are low on these types of romance.

Even if it is somehow, they will always chicken out and do a non-romantic ending.
