| i prefer asuka langley soryu, because she is more badass, and because of her past, you have more of a reason to like her, in the seires, she isn't that interested in shinji... obvisouly i can't complain that much untill the 4.0 movie, but so far, which one do you prefer ?? |

| It depends. Most people probably prefer NGE Asuka over Rebuilt Asuka because she has more backstory and depth in the original series. I can't decide which one is better. :P |
| Series Asuka by FAR! The movie Asuka really delves into the territory of generic tsundere. The original Asuka was absolutely perfect for the purpose of developing the series's iconic "hedgehog dilemma". Combined with Shinji and Misato, this series trio brings a level of character depth I have yet to see matched in any other anime. |

She had some development: -Before 3.0 she wanted to do everything solo and not trust her team mates -(Not necessarily a positive development but it's still a development) >>> She has become more aggressive. -She listens to other people a lot more -She's a bit more mature in general I agree that she has less depth than her NGE counterpart right now, but I bet that Anno will flesh out her character more (And other characters too), when they show what happened during the timeskip. Who knows, maybe Shikinami will have the same amount of depth like Soryu. |

| The series are better in terms of character development, but in movie we got some good fanservice for her 👀 |

| Series Asuka is so much better due to her backstory, personality, a good interaction with other character, and some funny moments, however it didn't show up in the movie because she seems a little bit different with all the rage and anger without any development of the character whatsoever |
| In general, every character in the rebuilds is for the worse aside from maybe Kaworu |
