Here is a list of the most prominent spoilers in the movie, read at your risk, although, I highly, Hiiiihgly recommend that you wait and watch the movie without knowing anything, it's worth it.

Is there any indication as to what timeframe in the One Piece timeline this movie takes place?

I would like to know if I need to catch up on any episodes prior to watching to avoid spoilers.

Thanks!

Like @Hyperizon119 said, eps 879 but in my opinion, if you have finish reading or watching "Dresrosa Arc" its watchable.

I was only at ep 572 before going to Japan. I skipped out on this movie. I only was able to watch Tenki no Ko.

Simple incredible, the animation CGI was insane and story for a short movie like this was very nice too and the fights were great

It was good.
Specially how marine, pirates, regulation army, war Lord all fight together. It was exciting... *-*

It was enjoyable. Action-packed from start to finish. The music is upped up a notch. Team-ups, one on one battles, and special appearances made specifically for the service of the fans.

Since it is pure fanservice for the hardcore fans, other details like plot and storyline fall way too flat and bland.

IMO best One Piece movie so far, many good things in one package.

I thought it was okay. A lot of action but almost zero depth to the story.
Character mashups and teamups were nice though.

I'd call it an empty spectacle.

Not great but fun, bring back nostalgia to people that watched the show on 90s back then before the show went to rock bottom.

Pretty fanservice heavy movie.I'm alright with this movie solely existing for shoving in as many cameos as possible, but I really prefer Film Z in terms of story and characters IMO.Film Z's villain is also much more compelling.

It was fun. Many references and fights I've always wanted to see. The movie actually brought me back to One Piece again. And I'm sure glad it did.

It was hard to like. The comedy was good, nostalgic OSTs. The animation in the action scenes, on the other side, was horrible. Stupid of Toei to make a Godzilla fight the main protagonist and the rest of the worst generation. CG-animation doesn't suit classical anime like OP or DBZ. All in all, a fine 5/9.

its 2020 fam, if one piece ended way back in the days I would have considered it as a classic I kind of liked the cgi but ufotable does it the best but toei did good

It was garbage compared to previous movies. But I can see why people like it.

True. But cgi is never used in the anime, not a single bit, why introduce it to the movies. All the best fights of the entire series have been without CGI. It's ok to have it, but not with a series that haven't seen a glimpse of it in 20 years.
