OMFG i did not expect something so sad and horrible to happen in this show! That was a really dark episode and the way it deepened the main characters was excellent.

I hate how underrated this anime is. If people would just stick with it through the first 3 eps, they'd find it's really awesome!

Good initial fight. Not sure how or why Ashura extracted a pellet from Indra, guess I'll have to rewatch that bit (I can understand Indra having earthly desires, but the pellet implies he ingested Vairocana's halo without noticing??)

Aasha's story was pretty grim. Interestingly it also shows the vicious circle of meddling (would this had happened if Indra and Ashura had'nt helped in the first place?).

Wow, this episode was a massive tonal shift, from the norm... Not that I’m complaining. It was actually pretty profound and heartbreaking. Reminded me a little bit of Dororo, actually.

I was not expecting this series to go THAT DARK - GEEEZ!! I definitely think the series could've benefited from cutting out SOME of the silliness from previous episodes and had this been a point earlier...
if someone had told me early on a little girl was going to get abused and then shot to death I wouldn't have believed them... that was awful. I don't blame Ashura for being pissed off.

That was a great episode, the backstory of Ashura and Taishakuten was pretty intense. Those villagers weren't merciful at all, hell I hate them for doing that Aasya.

I admire Ashura's resolve in trying to save Aasya's soul from hell, but he is drastic in trying to kill his ex friend. I don't trust this Mara will make his wish come through though.

This was a meaningful episode and the best one yet.

Finally the main plots are revealed - but they were all hinted at since first episode. I knew at some point along the way there would be an explanation.

Ashura is truly a glorious tragic hero. I hope SOMEHOW he, Tashakuten and Bonten all get along at the end of the season...

Wow. That episode was actually.... GOOD! Like, REALLY good! What a great backstory - so sad & tragic. I did not expect the girl to go crazy like that, and was shocked again when the villagers all shot those flaming arrows. I sure hope this is a sign for the future as to how the quality of the show will trend.

I started the episode pissed off at Boneten for not chasing after Taishskuten right away and ended the episode wanting to hug Taishakuten and Ashura. What a great episode!

This episode really caught me by surprise. Sure, the tone shift was sudden, it went dark very fast, but I was caught off guard by what happened. Definitely one of the better episodes of the series so far. We finally have plot development!

That's some jaw dropping change. Finally explains the brooding conflict & develops Bonten, Taishakuten & Ashura. But Mara's just using him to gather gold orbs (power) from buddhas & vices.
Nice art while fighting on golden sand. Ashura finished him in the same arrow barrage as what happened to the girl. He has a goal but man he's angry.

Best episode so far!
I didn't like the fact that everything was in that sepia tone though.
