Shi and Yon can both mean 4 in Japanese. So Shin is not incorrect

Shin can also be used a prefix meaning "new" as well though but that's a different matter

Basically the numbers 4 and 9 are considered unlucky numbers in Japanese because Shi and Ku are pronounced the same as "death" and "agony" respectively. Therefore people normally use their alternative names Yon and Kyuu instead of the more sinister Shi and Ku. Same is also true for 7 (despite generally being considered a lucky number) where people normally use Nana instead of Shichi since the latter at least includes the character of Shi

Source for the Japanese title? The kanji used for "shin" here is 神 which means "god" or related kind of stuff.

It's not wrong, Yon and Shi both can refer to 4.
In case of numbers shi and shichi (onyomi) is used when you are counting things. For example, ichi ni san shi go, ... It is also used in months, like 四月(shigatsu) and 七月(shichigatsu)

However Shin can also mean 'new' but that's not the reference here.

So does that mean they are stopping the numbered titles, and making up whatever?

What if they were making a word play? Using the god "shin" to mean both god, new and four??

Since I see people are saying "Shin" means "new", spoiler to the non-manga readers:

In Japanese, there are two readings for every kanji, On (Chinese) and Kun (Japanese)

On is: Ichi, Ni, San, Shi, Go, Roku, Shichi, Hachi, Kyu, Ju

Kun is: Hito(tsu), Futa(tsu), Mit(tsu), Yot(tsu), Itsu(tsu), Mut(tsu), Nana(tsu), Yat(tsu). Kokono(tsu), Too

For the main 10, they mostly use On reading, but change 4 (Yon) and 7 (Nana) to Kun reading because 'Shi' can be interpreted as meaning 'death'. So if they keep up with naming it all in On reading, then Shi is the correct choice.
