THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
The truth is not easy to get to...nor changing the world. Apparently, Imaginator plans to use the Towa Organization.

In the 5th part of the Imaginator arc, we finally also get Spooky E facing his defeat. It's about damn time after the amount of people he's hurt. This episode also reminds me why Nagi is such a badass.

The fight scenes were nicely animated in this one =o

But I'm glad that Tomoe isn't brainwashed anymore and I am VERY happy that the cunt know as Spooky E is dead now, but man this series just refuses to give Misaki and Orihata a break TwT

If she dies, then I'm gonna need either Misaki, Boogiepop or best girl Nagi (My god she is truly the greatest in this show lol) to kill Imaginator ASAP....They need to kill him regardless tbh

P.S. I remember in one of the threads here, there was some piece of info saying that we were going to be getting like 3 or 4 episodes in one week? Is that still happening?

Need more Nagi nee-san. XD

Imaginator/Jin took out Spooky E and plans on taking out Towa from within. :o

You might want to reconsider how you view Spooky Electric, though. It is perfect, that I had an example to show to others, instead of having explain it from zero.
Spooky E is an artificial human, right? He was created to act on behalf of some higher-up scum organization. Like that committee of 300 from the Science-Fiction Adventure universe. He was made this way so that he can further the goals of the organization that created him. But in this episode, when he was basically stripped of his programming, he acknowledged Jin as insane (which he is with the help of Imaginator) and instead of actually becoming his tool, he did something he "wanted to try for a long time", and fried himself. When actually getting a choice what to do, he had chosen to stop himself from doing anymore evil. If anything, this series is trying extremely hard to paint every villain and character as a conflicting one, and not purely evil. So far.

Correction, Spooky Electric took himself out. Jin had an idea of using (e.g. usurping) the Towa organization to further its own goals of some great design. Your wording makes Jin and Imaginator sound like actual good guys. They are Madara.

This was my favourite episode so far. Things are starting to come together now. Nagi and Masaki are so fucking cool! I find it so amazing that you can tell wen Miyashita is speaking and wen Boogiepop is speaking. Aoi Yuki is such a brilliant voice actor!

Another wonderful episode from this wonderful series. It may be confusing and I'm glad it is because it forces me to be engaged. The action scene with Masaki was well done too, I suddenly got the urge to learn martial arts so thanks for that I guess? Seems like they ran out of resources for another action scene though since Nagi's (best girl btw, fight me) was just stills.

Also poor Orihara, didn't she suffer enough already? :(

I love this so much about this series. I didn't know he was astificially created but the fact he was, makes it so much more interesting. Guess I don't need to feel bad about being happy he's dead.

This episode was good! I don't know how to feel about Spooky E's end. He was about to be used as a pawn just like he used others, but he decided to take his own life before this could happen. Well, at least he is gone. This Towa Organization has some history though, they are even behind the death of Jin's father.

Talking about Jin I finally understand him a bit better now, I think, and also what he is trying to do, and it's crazy for sure. His powers are really amazing too. I guess it's safe to assume that Orihata has this perfectly balanced seed because there is nothing lacking in her synthetic heart? Or maybe there's another reason, but Jin paid a lot of attention to Masaki's call. I wonder what he is going to do now. Maybe her feelings for Masaki made her seed unstable or something, and now he is in the way of Jin's plans. Can't wait to find out.

Oh, Masaki and Nagi were really cool fighting, and I feel bad for Kotoe, at least she is free from Spooky E's clutches now.

You are actually right, I think. Orihata was tabula rasa, but Masaki's prolonged affection made her actually care for him in return, which is a foundation to conflict in Jin's book. So now he has to "reset" Orihata again. Obviously it will not end well for him.

Also they could change this anime title for Imaginatorpop, it has been 84 years since boogiepop appeared on screen and now just for few seconds.

Suema's investigation sure came close to ending there though. Still seems the good doctor now realizes that the Towa's are more of a threat than he realizes. Masaki's fighting ability sure is pretty impressive though. Numbers really won't work on Nagi lol. Spookie sure had a rather unexpected end though. Looks like things really are starting to heat up.

Well, Imaginator idea is like what will kill humanity more or less, humanity progresses via conflicts.
No wonder Boogiepop is hunting for him.
Also Spooky E at least had balls to commit suicide instead of being a marionette.

Thank fuck Spooky E is dead! Ppl like him always piss me off!

And as for the ppl complaining about the lack of boogiepop... I feel u! I wanna see smoogiepop some more! But, I'm holding my hopes up that we'll see a lot of her soon!

I had to laugh when Konoe snapped her fingers and a bunch of goons came out to surround Nagi...like, where where these guys when Masaki was beating her up? Still, Nagi is awesome, so I'm happy she at least appeared and did something cool.

I have to say, I don't feel like this is a particularly good anime, being a speed adaptation of multiple books. Most the characters feel like they're acting according to a need to be somewhere at certain time to say a certain something. I think the characters that feel the most developed to date are Masaki and Orihata, since they're the only ones we have a decent sense of what makes them tick. The psychological portraits of the other characters have been cut away. This anime is not an instant psychological classic like Boogiepop Phantom.

Hehehe, nice pistol whip to Konoe.

Imaginator is going for complete mind domination so that everyone can be happy...Spooky E is out, but Jin is taking over. Looks like Masaki is going to take the bait, Orihata will be a sacrifice, and Boogiepop will be forced to act. But now we need to see how Jin will make snow. He might manipulate the Towa Organization to make that happen...

Why would you need to pinpoint enemies?
Life is not black and white.
Everyone there is like in real life - they are grey. Imaginator has his own reasons and philosophy of what he does. I think that it's wrong, but...
Even Spooky E had shown himself as a man with a strong will.

I'm glad this episode was so good. I was just about ready to drop this show after the super-slow pace we've had so far. Last week we didn't even have any Nagi or Boogiepop or even Jin and concentrated completely on Masaki. I'm glad this week was much better.

I still don't get why Boogiepop (the real one) never lifted a finger here to help even though there are clearly people dying from Spooky E's actions, and she is clearly aware of it since she's in the same school and knows about the occurrences. Like she helped that one kid from a few episodes ago to save him from Spooky E's influence but it was barely anything compared to the bigger picture.

I guess maybe she was relying on Imaginator to do something but it still feels a bit inconsistent to her previous actions, where she said she would appear if there was a threat.

Although there truly is something meditative about that whole whirlpool narrative approach but in the end, one does want to feel something for characters sometimes - and Boogiepop does an outstanding job of not giving you any reason to care about the characters or feel for them.

You mean you, such claims are merely your personal experience/subjective claims. Be aware of that it does not apply as a default to others and is not universal.

yay your right, it was asukai's (imaginator's) father that died from the experiments. That explains why he doesn't feel sadness like kotoe, he saw that his father was unlucky so maybe he himself was expecting his father to die an unlucky death. He saw that coming which makes it despair rather than sadness.

Those are the exact words he said to kotoe.

So now he's going to use the organization that killed his father to save the world his own way. This dude is simply the Shonen protagonist of his own story.

Now this is the best kind of antagonist.

Asukai Jin's backstory and arc are quite interesting, how his father died from the drugs the Towa Organisation was using, and how one of his old students became addicted to the same drugs, and how it ties in with what Orihata was doing with the fake-Boogiepop plan, that she was trying to rid the drugs the organisation was providing, and that Orihata is the seed that Asukai Jin was looking for, ah, it's all coming round to make sense.

I like this more and more each episode. The action sequence this episode was actually really good. Much better than the fight at the end of the first arc. Spooky E killing himself really puts in into perspective. After Jin had removed his mind control as he has done for several others, he just decided to off himself rather than be a dog for the Towa organization.

Jin's whole thing seems to be more or less explained at this point. Seems he intends to use Orihata as his sacrifice. I.e. take the "perfectly balanced" seed from her to spread around. I guess it would make sense that she would be "perfectly balanced" since she's artificial and has no real personality. Does that mean everyone else would be like Orihata after having the seed implanted. That's some real utopian shit.

Don't recall what that key Masaki ran off with was for, but I'm sure it'll come up soon.
