Welp, a date between Shido and Origami. But seriously, the moment the two went out together, I knew she would tease him endlessly lol

Natsuki is still playing mind games against Shidou and she's stepping up her game. Quite frankly, I think she's one of the most cunning spirits he's faced so far in the franchise. Oh boy, another cliffhanger.

God dammit, Engi didn't participate in this episode so the art is looking like episode 1 again. JC Staff should really let Engi take care of the 2d animation, after episode 2 there's no going back.

So short, the dates I mean. But I believed Origami's moments here were the best which is fair enough for the those short times.

The Natsumi business finally comes to an end...NOT!

Tentatively agree that with this game of lies and deception, Shido is unfortunately caught with the plot twist that is redoing the entire mission yet again...although Natsumi sure is cunning with her games, this has been dragged on for too long.

Again, RIP to character designs. Much preferred Season 1 and 2's design. That's my only nitpick and a great concern. But regardless, just going to binge through.

Why does everyone think season 2 looked good when it didn't? It looked even worse in some parts.

I dont know about you guys but I'm ok with the art now, ep 1 was horrible but 2 and 3 were good enough for my taste, better than S2 but S1 still takes the cake.
Loli spirits eh? I don't mind, I don't mind at all!

Another great episode! Date A Live keeps knocking it out of the park this season! Shido sharpens his wits against Natsumi, who continues her plan to destroy Shido's over the incident in the first episode. One of the best things of this season is the way it portrays Shido. We get to see how determined, smart and benevolent Shido can be, both to the people he cares about and a complete stranger who is trying to destroy his life over something that wasn't his fault.

The conflict with Natsumi reaches a turning point, especially now that we catch a glimpse of Natsumi's true form. I don't know how faithful is the adaptation to the light novel, but I think the anime is keeping a good pace with the storyline. Does anyone else find it weird that only the Spirits were transformed into little children at the end and the normal humans are fine? Maybe it has something to do with their magic powers or something like that.

The episode also fair amount of progression for whatever is happening between Woodman and Westcott. I don't read the light novels but I do keep up with the summaries in websites so I do have a rough idea of the story in the source material. I'm not eagerly anticipating Shido's involvement in their conflict, I think the anime is doing a good job at keeping Shido's story tied with his dates to the Spirits, but this is something that will happen sooner or later.

This episode was definitely worth the wait. Date A Live is my favorite show the season and it's definitely the gif that keeps on giving. Good TV shows should always leave their audiences wanting for more and Date A Live easily accomplishes this.

We're now done with the first volume of the 4 this season is adapting. The next episode is possibly the last one which contains humor in it, the rest will be pretty serious, you people will finally see the real nature of the series.

So, Natsumi's secret is that she's actually a child and, in response to being found out, she turns everyone into children? Well, I'll give this show credit: I never would have expected that at all, and it's pretty amusing to boot. Just curious now about what they're actually gonna do with this and how they're actually gonna eventually resolve Natsumi's arc.

Tbh I always watched this anime for Origami. Even with her limited time I'm still not disappointed. That cinema scene made my day.

Oh well... thanks for warning. I guess I'll wait until this season ends then. I'm really not interested in serious side and would hate to get stuck on some drama or cliffhanger.

I can't remember a time where Kotori has taken her ribbons off herself, that might be the first time I have seen her hair down like that.

That's a better costume then what Miku normally has him wear, he gets to be a man today.

I was so fixated on all the people that I completely forgot about Yoshinon, very clever of Natsumi to pose as a puppet spirit.

Ah so Natsumi is a actually a loli lol, and now she's turned all the into girls into loli's, things got even more interesting, but fun I guess.

I'm more worried about what Wescott and the others are up to.

I was kinda hoping the mystery would go on for all 12 episodes. So, I'm a bit upset this wasn't expanded on a bit more. But, at least the background plot is moving forward a little bit. So, I can look forward to that. I would have never guessed it was Yoshinon. I guessed Yuzuru, Origami, and Tohka but they all were taken away. Too bad Shido's gonna have to talk the FBI out of arresting him now.

Date a Live is actually Date a Cliffhanger. So will Natsumi has the most number of eps/introduction arc among Shidou's harem (excluding Miku since her joining the harem mixed with a more serious arc)? I just hope when the series got darker like some ppl here said, there won't be cliffhanger each episode anymore.

Ps. Rentarou still has more loli harem than Shidou, but at least Shidou's are aLive...

Poor Kaguya, she has it rough after Yuzuru's disappearence.

So now Natsumi removed Yoshino & Tohka :(

That Origami though XD Teasing Shidou like usual!

This game of Natsumi is just something I have not quite seen before. Shidou is really struggling. But he pulled it through! So Natsumi is actually a small girl! Can't say I saw that coming! She got mad after they saw her like that and transformed everyone into loli's... That's a lolicon's dream come true right there XD

Also, seems like Kurumi won't make an appearence at all in this arc? Kinda sad about that to be honest!

The art style looked a bit different on the characters, then I saw that this episode wasn't outsourced/co-produced by ENGI, so I guess that makes sense.

ENGI's artstyle choice (especially the coloring) seems rather lighter. Also some of the art derped out at some scenes, I think it's less noticable on episode 2 and more like episode 1 (after pre-air)

The second episode was all done by ENGI. JC Staff took care of the backgrounds and CGI but the 2D animation was done by ENGI. I think it's safe to say ENGI does a better job at portraying the character's traits better as well as having a much more refined artstyle that resembles season 1. I'd have ENGI do the 2D animation any day now but unfortunately that doesn't appear to be the case. JC Staff are no good for me, this episode confirms the gap in quality that both studios display in the TV screen.

-sigh- I guessed wrong then. >.< I thought it was Yoshino too for being too bold. Also thought it was odd when Yoshinon claimed to be an 'idol' instead of a 'hero', and when Yoshinon talked about 'staying over at Origami's house'. I think it was the third book that said Yoshinon was a separate personality within Yoshino that emerges when she wears the puppet.

Savage move by Origami, stabbing the photos just in case Natsumi transformed herself into a photo. o.o b

Art seems okay... Didn't immediately pick up that Natsumi shrunk their bodies at the end since their clothes didn't look too blatantly oversized, and their faces look about the same. Might be due to the way the shot was framed waist-up too. I thought To Love-Ru did the art better when it did the same thing. O.o

So as I thought, Natsumi doesn't like her true form and uses a transformation......but why? She's a freaking cute loli! And as farewell, now all are lolis........ knowing Origami this can bring legal problems xD. And speaking of her, her moments are always fucking hilarious.

The only complaint I might have is that I would have liked the dates with the main girls to be a little longer :/ ....but otherwise, great episode.

Can refer to @DarklordVor's post. This is the accurate depiction of the character change. Thanks for clarification. Much preferred ENGI's outsourced design. With the way J.C.Staff is doing it, it is unfortunately very much like their generic go-to designs.

It's true that Season 1 and 2's designs weren't the best, but it's memorable.

Can't remember the exact details from LN but I guess they're really rushing things here and Miku and Origami date well a lot had happened there but they just had to cut it down.

Man, really loved how much Natsumi harassed Shido in LN though but that exactly isn't looking the case here.

Also, wasn't that scene where they meet that old man also changed.

Pretty enjoyable episode, this!

Numerous dates for Shido once again, and they were all intriguing to keep up with in one way or another. Kotori’s, at the start, was hilarious, xD she was expecting a kiss there and Shido took full advantage of her vulnerable state to pick on her hair bands. Origami’s was obviously the most hilarious, she just knows how to tease Shido and her straight-forwardness is a treat to watch! Lol, the teacher had a marriage registration form. Miku was a little bit of a let-down this episode though but thankfully Shido came up with the right answer thanks to her. Damn, that scene of Shido breaking down after losing Tohka was impactful though. Overall, the mysterious vibe of the episode was pretty well done imo. Shido and the other four discussing the probabilities of who Natsumi’s impersonating and such was very interesting too, Origami really is a security agent worker no wonder. Interesting cliffhanger again, looking forward to seeing how the girls and that one guy return from their chibi forms.

You're wrong. ENGI works on ep 2 was only animation, they didn't do the coloring. Same for JC Staff. This task is outsourced to another studio (like in many anime). In episode 3, ENGI worked on inbetweens and finition and JC made the Key animation and 2nd key (with the help of another studio if I'm correct) with other task like background and compositing.

They surely rushed alot of the episode, on the LN there was alot of time given for guessing, and Origami showed her brains alot there...

Nah, you havent seen Origami arc yet, save that statement for the last 6 episodes of S3 (it is gonna be wild).
