Seiyuu Agency Aoni Production has announced that seiyuu Toshiko Fujita died on Friday from the invasive breast cancer. The announcement mentioned that various treatments were tried but did not work. She was 68 years old. The funeral will be done privately among family members.

Born in Dalian, China, Fujita had been active since she was six years old as a child actress through TV and radio. She voiced Ikkyuu from Ikkyuu-san, Eris from the Saint Seiya series, Dai from the Dragon Quest: Dai no Daibouken series, Eiichi Kite from Kiteretsu Daihyakka, Taichi Yagami from the Digimon Adventure series, and more. She also dubbed many foreign drama and movies. As a singer, she performed various anisongs, as well as released six CDs through CBS Sony Records (Currently Sony Music Entertainment) as a Kayou singer. She received the Best Seiyuu award at the First Annual Japanese Anime Awards in 1984.

RIP this lady, big-ass condolences to her family.

P.S.: Ladies and gentlemen, the Life Event tag has established a new record: 5 deaths in a row!

P.P.S.: Takanobu Hozumi died 2 months ago (October 19 specifically) and no one is doing anything about it?

Just to clarify, she only voiced Big Mom in her first appearance.
People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime.

Your taste in anime isn't a personality trait.

MAL is literally just anime Twitter as its own website lol.

Is it just me or are all the legendary voice actors passing away this year? It really is quite sad.
Fujita has voiced so many notorious roles, from Digimon to Seiya. It really is a shame. Oh well, all great things must come to an end.

RIP.

I remember her best as Maraich from Patalliro. She had a distinctly feminine but tough voice, and was one of the earliest seiyus to bring such qualities to a female character.

RIP Ms Fujita.

I recently rewatched Saint Seiya: Jashin Eris with Toshiko Fujita voicing Eris...
She had such an amazing voice, such a shame.

We lost another awesome voice actress.

As an all-time Digimon Adventure fan, I'm devastated. Her role as Taichi was fantastic, so much it almost feels as Taichi has died too. :(

Also too young. Rest in peace.

I will remember her as a great seiyuu, who dubbed Taichi Yagami from Digimon and made Eris from Saint Seiya movie even more awesome character. For me, dubbing these characters made Toshiko Fujita immortal.

Rest in Peace. Condolences to her family.

I already knew about Kouji Wada. I was just referring to the voice casts who passed away.

Cat's Eye sisters will be appeared in the new City Hunter Movie and her role of Rui Kisugi will be replaced by Keiko Toda, who voiced Hitomi in the original anime and will be voicing both in the movie.
