THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
This was kinda painful to watch, especially the part with the Astaroth suffering all that pain.

Same with La Hire. Seriously though, Montmorency deserved the beating from Jeanne. Episode's action felt all over the place tbh. At this point, I don't care too much about the plot anymore even as it's still focusing on the importance of the philsopher stone.

2 more episodes left.

What the...?
Did this show literally try to pull an Arc V? At least in Arc V, the main protagonist Yuya is still very competent, even if he’s a character with understandable flaws, and when he turned into an evil entity himself, there was at least buildup for that.
Here, Montmorency was practically useless up til now when they decide to throw in a twist outta left field in an attempt to make him seem more relevant to the story.

The insight into Astarorth's past was pretty interesting. So in the past her master sealed away the gods that created humans. To think that Mont's activation of the stone would transform him into a demon god though. Man demon mont's treatment of Astaroth sure was brutal. La hire's display of her skills after taking the stone was pretty impressive. But its good that she bought enough time for Jeanne to arrive. Her response to the god's reply was just priceless. An interesting ep that did featured some pretty good action via the intro of a demon god no less. Curious to see where this goes with this new angle.

Boy, that was a new level of trash... btw that was anime original content, it was completely different in the book. Maybe they wanted to adapt 3 books at first but fucked up somehow and were forced to prolong this shit and end anime with second book.

WTF 1st there is a space ship , does this suggest that monster is rom another planet and was being transported by a bunch of ET's , but somehow manage to escape nd killed all of those ET's and decided to go to earth to cause mayhem???? Next there is La Hire taking the philosophers stone, so how the fuck did she got another philosophers stone when there were only 2 pieces of it one with Montmorancy and the other with Jaenne?

Saber goes EXCALIBUR! duh (why do you think she hurt herself with the sword?)

anyway, if this anime wasn't already hard enough to watch, hurting poor Astaroth like that just made it even worse <.<
i've dropped so many animes that are better than this, but decided i'll finish this one just for Jeanne + Astaroth lol

COME ON...NOT THIS FRANXX CRAP AGAIN!!! What are you doing AXsiZ!?

From here on, let's just say that more than just a disappointment, this is a plot device that's filled that amounts to nothing.

And thoroughly so, it's one of the worst trainwrecks of Fall 2018.

Remember Trigger and A-1's Darling In The FranXX? IT'S TOTALLY THE SAME TREATMENT.

@Ryuseishun it has been that way since the first half. @Arugustor you think this is good? Coz it's not.

It's meant to throw you offguard like how Darling In The FranXX did. A plot that has a promising start but it shifts gears too soon.

So Astaroth and her old partner sealed a God who ruled over the humans. The humans wanted to be free from their reign so they rebelled against the Gods...

Whoa, demon Gilles looking nice...

Waaaait....spaceships in medieval Europe? This I can get behind! But with this new plot twist, I think this series isn't being Jeanne D'arc anymore...But whatever...

I like how this story of the Philosopher's stone circles back to Astaroth.

Oh my God, now that is ultimate torture. Coming back to life only to die over and over. Poor Astaroth!

A gun that never misses even when you can't see the target...That's OP....

Oh, so they did show Jeanne being burned at the stake...what a horrifying image...

I like "God" Gilles. For the few episodes that the series has left, he's a pretty convincing villain.

This was a hilarious mess of an episode. I'm kind of glad since, beforehand, the show was just boring trash. Now...it's a trainwreck and I can't wait to see how crazy it's going to get. (Hoping for more aliens and spaceships or whatever other random crap they can throw in.)

I literally watched the first episode when it first came out. Then I skipped all the previous episodes before this one. I can tell you .. wow.. that changed a lot - but I expected that from skipping so much.

Surprisingly, the plot is pretty easy to follow IMO, somehow Monte loses control of power (philo stone) and becomes this random God-like being with a spaceship (cool - reminds of the Darling in Franxx surprise ark lol). Then these meta humans with philo stones powers in them or something? are OP as well like gun girl and prolly the other characters too? idk?. Jeanne seems like best girl material and very good girl material from 1st episode and this episode. Asatoroth fairy girl seems nice too - not too much detail on her.

I just want to know - how similar is this episode to the previous episodes? tbh i am digging the high pace high action! Even if this anime is shit, the action is nice and mind numbing - especially with all the added up drama and back reasoning. Really satisfying to watch Monty get beat up by jeanne.

I heard monty is a weak azz bish until this episode ? True?

Is it mostly just jeanne fighting and gun girl or something? Are previous worth wathching if u like monty fighting? Or are they worth watching if u like jeanne fighting?

Are there good Jeanne best girl moments throughout the season? worth the watch or not?

thanks

This is one of those times when I wish I could erase my memory of this episode so I can experience it again for the first time. That space ship scene is one of my most favorite moments in all of my anime watching career. If only the rest of the series was better directed.
