| Ahh I’m so glad to hear that. My main deal is that I want nao and izumi to stay together. They’re adorable together. I also want for nao and eiji to remain good friends but the tone of this manga is very solemn (completely different from nijiiro days) so that I could see mizuno going for a scenario where they drift apart by the end and that hurts. But I’m confused because I thought for certain ikezawa and eiji were going to be end game when I first started reading the series. In fact, the manga felt completely different at the beginning - I actually thought ikezawa was main girl but there’s way less focus on her now. I feel like Mizuno made a mistake making ikezawa fall for eiji so early. Or actually the bigger issue is that she made ikezawa into a bore - where is her earlier personality? The strict, cold girl who was strong willed but still had a heart. She made her into a shallow character tbh so I hope Mizuno does something on that front soon. However given the spoilers manga def seems to be heading into taichi-ikezawa pairing. Which is meh but makes sense because they’ve been shown as secondary characters to the main 4. Ikezawa and eiji genuinely did have good chemistry in the beginning but her character right now is a bit...idk and their interactions are soulless. Eiji is by far my fave, then nao. But eiji is def the most interesting character in the entire series. He seems so indifferent towards everything and everyone except nao and izumi. The frustration and loss at what to do with his feelings makes me really feel for him. And there’s nao’s self awareness that eiji has always been the more popular one. Mizuno did a great job with writing the two boys because there’s so many layers behind them I quite like the idea of eiji and fujimura - tbh I always thought they had interesting chemistry and low-key shipped but I’m sad for ikezawa. I didn’t think eiji and fujimura had a chance until that moment where he apologised for hurting her wrist. They’re cute and have seen each other at their very worst, not to mention they can act like their true selves. Fujimura is warming to me and is the most interesting out of the girls whom I all like sorta. Izumi and Ikezawa are cute but just sort of there. I hope the girls develop a friendship with each other. Taichi is okay but I always find his character trope in shoujo manga to be an irrelevant bore so I’m annoyed that it seems likely ikezawa is going to end up with a wet wipe like him. A waste of screen time. This manga is so emotionally intense and I’m so invested which is weird because I hate love triangles let alone the mess in this manga lmao. |
