I'm just halfway through the episode and I can't take it.. now Kirito's mastered that sword because reasons...lol... The whole episode has been so mega poorly written so far (understatement) it makes me wanna rip my eyes out..the pain Imagine thinking this anime had any chance of being decent this time...back to being trash again sigh (some people will probably think it's good because of that awful action sequence....sigh SAO...you were so close) Pure garbage If you can't understand it, why don't you just drop it ? The problem is I do understand and it's stupid...so stupid (and come on.. This is freaking SAO) If you can't understand why someone is saying the episode is so bad why bother replying to them? It's just such a badly written and poorly directed episode all through. Honest opinion...get over it. Where were you when I was saying what was good about the show?.. When it's horrible we say it as it is.. I'm no fanboy After the first 3 decent to probably even good episodes watching the show flip into a dumpster fire so fast was just personally enraging... If you loved the episode all power to you. I wish I could ignore some things as well If you can't handle an opinion..your problem ..now I'm gonna just have to go into how bad this was when I'm free. Later They are right tho. You didnt understand why its possible. Kirito didnt ''master'' the sword. Previously his [Object Control Authority] which is similar to a strength stat or level, wasn't high enough so he couldnt wield the sword. After gaining experience fighting the goblins his [Object Control Authority] went up, as killing people in the underworld gives a lot of experience. So he can now use the sword without being burdened by it. No offense, but dont blame your poor understanding of a show on its quality of writing. The worldbuilding is much better in this season of SAO, but they did leave a few things out. But its by no means ''thrash'' or anything close to that. You just explained exactly what I understood...this sao..it's not that deep really guy geez lol.. Like I said if you are just going to fanboy because "OMG this guy said the episode was bad" without bothering to understand why (and yes... The portrayal of that idea is exactly what I'm referring to as stupid and I'll get into that later..time.. Just chill) I'll be back to explain my issues but oh boy..it's gonna be an essay lol. I'm not looking for a fight with anyone. If you like the ep that's great for you..this ep was straight garbage writing-wise and direction wise for me (lol how Eugeo passed out..).. Later.. Just..relax OK (I can't relax though lol) Or if you've figured me out that much you can tell me what I find bad about the episode before I get a chance to present my points (which I could have been doing instead of this lol) and see how dumb jumping on someone without bothering to understand their POV because you're triggered is... It's not like I've even attacked anyone. They were saying that because "No way someone could think what I like was poorly presented..no way.. A different opinion?...no that would kill me.. Damn this guy" ...and I know certain issues are a result of A-1 being A-1 and ruining the adaptation (again) but it's the anime so I'm not gonna justify this trash with what I read in the source material |

The writing was bad as usual, but SAO HAD A DECENT LOOKING FIGHT SCENE IS THIS REAL LIFE??!?!?? There were some questionable shots, but it was really well animated for being SAO. In the other seasons characters would just fling swords wildly at each other while talking and or standing around. Alicizaion overall has looked bad but at times the show animates super well. |

I'm impressed, really. The animation effort that went into the fight between Kirito and the goblin boss was knocking on movie-tier level. It had so many epic moments that actually had me on the edge of my seat. Bravo, A-1! ^_^ It was a close fight, but Kirito was able to win by beheading the goblin boss and with Selka's help from her sacred art skill, they saved Eugeo's life. And thus, Eugeo's sword training began and eventually, the Cedar Gigas finally got chopped down. The journey to the central city will be a long one, but it's a journey that I'm really looking forward to seeing and what other people and monsters that Kirito and Eugeo meet along the way. Great episode overall. =) |

Ah and I really like how the Japanese people don't give a dog shit about what the western hicks thinks. Uff thank God that Japanese people loves SAO so much that it is the best selling light novel of 21st century. For their love for SAO, we can still see this masterpiece still airing. Well really great to see this season of SAO, with the beautiful animation and wonderful pacing. The budget must be really big for them to be able to make an animation of this quality and that also for 4 cours. SAO must be really big hit on Japan to get such a great treatmnet. 😍😍 |

Finally some wheels turning, hope these 4 episodes of set up is worth it. I swear that huge slice of Eugeo seemed like it didn't quite hit right, and I immediately went "That's not how sword blades work!" Then he just actually bleeds, so... cool I guess. It'd be odd if people in the animation staff actually thought that was OK, so it'll be funny if it actually turned out that something was left out accidentally or something. Still though, if all it takes to cut down that huge practically uncuttable tree is grinding some random goblins and a goblin boss. The central city must really be a huge massive dick to not just send an experienced foot soldier or something to do it. Like "Oh yeah let's just leave that rural craphole be, we could like fundamentally develop this entire region while essentially not lifting a finger, but let's just leave a kid and an axe to do this task for like 9 generations". |

Like I said if you are just going to fanboy because "OMG this guy said the episode was bad" without bothering to understand why SAO isn't super deep no. But that doesn't change that you still failed to understand things. In fact you failed to understand information that wasn't deep. Which despite your first sentence in this post..you didnt actually understand at all based on your earlier words. I pointed this out. Omai...baka ja nai ka? JudoJD said: If you like the ep that's great for you..this ep was straight garbage writing-wise and direction wise for me It was a good episode. JudoJD said: They were saying that because "No way someone could think what I like was poorly presented..no way.. A different opinion?...no that would kill me.. Damn this guy" Theres opinions and theres facts. Most people dont seem to realise that presentation quality...is actually mostly down to fact not opinion. And that stupid opinions also exist. Lets be real here. You are just triggered because someone had the audicity to call your opinion bad, and to show you exactly why it is bad. Which I guess is why you feel attacked by my earlier 'matter of fact post'. Its okay you did 'a stupid.' Admitting failures is something you learn from, you know? There's plenty of reasons to dislike SAO; even the current show. But you arent helping yourself (or improving the community) if you just make up reasons that don't exist (in that form). |

What bad writing? I was expecting something out of Kirito in this episode already. Kirito is a natural born swordsman and those goblins were so damn weak, and we were presented with a stunningly well animated fight to boot. Just skip those little details about bad writing just because you felt like criticizing it, are you impressed with what happened? I'm not. Kirito is a swordsman, he would do something about those goblins sooner or later, and he had to find out how that world works not in the worst way possible, but by feeling real pain right there, you even noticed his overconfidence when he cut off the goblin's arm, he thought he had defeated it but no, there was more to it in that world, that IS good writing in my book, notice that the anime is just beginning, just keep watching it, now it gets better and better, enjoy the show and calm down geez... So much hate already. |

Cutting down the tree was eugeos calling not iiritos and technicly he wasnt supposed to help him with it since it wasnt his calling. So him not getting credit makes sense cause eugeo probably wouldve got into some trouble for keeping kirito from finding his calling again.Gosh that was an awesome episode and at least Kirito didn't just 1 hit the tree xD Besides that, does anyone also think that even tho Eugeo was the one to cut the tree, it was Kirito who taught him about the sword and basically everything else on it and I think that he should have gotten at least a bit of credit no? |

This episode was absolutely beautiful was nice to see the best boys going against those goblins, that fight scene was the best fight scene of SAO imo, kirito just nailed it. and i also liked their sword training montage, and finally cutting down the tree, the sound effects was so good, as you did expect from the adaptation of the best selling light novel of 21st century. really looking forward to know more about their journey and the underworld. zz the next episode will be on the real world, i want to see more of underworld as soon as possible. 5/5 for me |

I hope they won't skip the "Higa Takeru" scene if you know what I mean... yes Absolutely, one of the reason i like Alicization and think it's written much better than old novels, is the good use of foreshadowing and detail it explained to us at first 1-3 volume, that will be more important in last 1-2 volume. so showing us bits of info about the "Copy" and the things like Ichiemon and Niemon should be shown to us early on, so when we see them later it would not be abruptly and make the anime-only viewer be like, where the fuck these came from lol |

So can someone tell me a few things please: I was a fan (a big one) of the first half of the first season of SAO, the REAL "SAO". I also watched the rest of the season and season 2. It's not what I wanted, obviously, and not the best of the best. Now this comes out and I'm already close to dropping it. So please people who've read the novels, spoiler for these things please: - Is the new guy going to be as strong as Kirito without any reason just to make him viable?/Is Kirito still the OP char I used to love in the beginning? I mean why the fck can he swing a fcking sword made by gods or whatever he said, only because he tried to fight a goblin who in the end rekt his ass. - Are there going to be more dumb things that are completely contradictory to what a non-we-have-to-make-it-dramatic person would've done? - Is Kirito going to be that weak idiot even longer than the five episodes we've already seen? I mean he obviously knows he's able to use all his skills, so why wasn't he just killing that stupid goblin shthead? And why didn't he use the system commands? He knows more than the NPCs or whatever they are do. He could've asked the girl for a command to heal him or something because he obviously has his skills from before and should be able to use stuff like that like a pro - same goes for swinging the sword. Why is he still able to use super crazy skills but can't hold the damn sword from the beginning on and has to regain certain stuff but other stuff is just there? - Where is the reality? Is the whole season going to play in the virtual world? I don't want to spend 100 episodes watching something that actually accurs in a few seconds in the anime (because of that acceleration stuff). That's worse than Dragonball and Yugioh together. - Is there anything happening ACTUALLY? Like I said, I don't want to watch something that happens in a few seconds. Even worse would be if those few seconds didn't mean anything because he was talking to AI the whole time which had no cause or anything on "reality". (SAO -> you die, AHO -> asuna gets molested, GGO -> you die but slightly edgier, Underworld -> nothing, it's like a 100 episode long dream sequence) Please tell me what's happening - in a way that I can still enjoy the show (or at least start enjoying it). No hardcore storywise spoilers. Only "Does it actually matter what he does? -> Yes" kind of spoilers. And if you already know that I'm right, just tell me it isn't going to get better. Then I will watch the show and maybe get some positive surprises because it's not as bad as I thought. If it's complicated and with thousand plot twists just tell me "Watch it, you'll understand." Thanks. |

Thanks. It's the same kirito you love but he is not OP here coz He don't have anything from his old game here ! he is like a level 1 person ! I don't know why you think he got all his stat and power from his old game, but he don't. this world is not made to be a game, it only have a few "game-like" features. Kirito can use the Sword Techniques, coz he got a lot of memories of these techniques and had mastered these techniques in his mind. the mainframe of this world is not made from One and Zero data, they say its a dream like world coz it can get effected by memories, Aincrad Sword Skill are in UnderWorld coz that guy from the Movie joined Rath with his copy of old Aincrad. he is shown even in the Opening. but even if they did not added those Sword Skill in game, Kirito would still be able to use the techniques if he was stronger and knew how this world work. but there is tons of ppl in UnderWorld who can use Sword Skill and kirito is weaker than most of them right now, he goes on training with Eugeo, there will be another time skip like in old season 1, Kirito Say Eugeo is more talented than him in Sword skill so if he can train and have more experience than Kirito he will be stronger than Kirito. but kirito is more experience than him coz he got 2+ years of living with these technique in Aincrad. watch today's ep, it probably show a few stuff, it's in Real World. about if these really matter, well these people living in UnderWorld, are not NPC, they are not different than real human, they have the same soul ! they are like a bunch of cloned human. w;o a body. and if they die in UnderWorld, they die for real. as for kirito and others, there is also danger to their life in this Arc but from other sources and not the STL Machine. anyway, watch the show as it is, don't think to much about it, Kirito is always talented and strong but he is not OP, at least not until the last few EP. and 1 more thing about this last EP. Kirito's Object Control Authority was very low ! i think even lower than Eugeo, coz he was working on the tree for 6 years more than Kirito. the reason they could not wield the weapon was coz it needed a higher Authority. after Kirito and Eugeo fight the goblins and kirito killing the goblin leader, it gave them a lot of EXP and their object control authority increased, so they could now wield the Weapon. there is 2 way of getting strong in this world, one is just killing other things for getting EXP, which is a fast way but risky. the 2nd way is practicing, like Selka, practice her Sacred Art days after day to be able to use stronger arts. but it' slow. the Taboo Index won't let them kill other things but if she could just go and kill stuff, she would be stronger in no time. LASTLY, if you really wanna know the story better, read the novel ! manga isn't bad either but its only 9 chapter or so out from alicization arc :| and if you want more Aincrad, just read novel or manga of Sword Art Online Progressive. |

It's Kirito-kun Of course they can't handle the sword...at least they weren't able to handle it so well as to do enough damage to cut down the tree..definitely can't use it...definitely (seriously..all that damage... I love SAO man....you know they won't be doing that type of damage when using it onwards but I digress.. lol) If you're just going to keep fanboying on me please don't bother wasting your anger on me and replying. Thank you They are inside a game, and thats probably the starting area, he should be able to beat the lower level monsters at his level, and the tree is probably fodder to high lvl characters within this game so them destroying the tree is probably nothing, you are talking to much crap so early, This Anime didnt do anything wrong yet and you shouldnt trash on it so early because you cannot see simple stuff. But its by no means ''thrash'' or anything close to that. chriskor022 said: JudoJD said: im not saying i am fanboy. But you arent helping yourself (or improving the community) if you just make up reasons that don't exist (in that form). geez...if my opinion means so much to you guys that I have to explain my POV for not loving this masterpiece of an episode. Said I'd explain earlier but it's been a busy week (so busy I had to get a notification with a reply as pretentiously braindead as that last one...lol...that had to be a troll (no offence...you aren't that dumb IRL right?...anyways)...Everyone has to think this was good apparently and also since apparently not liking this episode is such a sin and OMG such a hater …”If you don’t like don’t watch” (actual response to saying you didn’t like an episode… Ironically this is to someone who’s gone out of their way to showcase their trash taste and say good stuff about SAO of all anime and LNs ..) AKA “Stop saying you don’t like what I like…shut up”...how dare anone have the audacity to sa the didn't like this...kill them...kill them with fire lol - Once again our Lord and Savior Kirito -kun must save the day....but this time gaspu...he is struggling!?!..OK guys, this is epic.....is what I'm supposed to say.. The fight tries convincing me there’s a reason to feel a sense of tension by having Kirito’s arm get injured….but that bit immediately gets blown away by the inconsistency in having his arm function just fine..better than ever..whenever needed throughout the remaining course of the battle…but since SAO thinks as a viewer I’m an idiot so sure..let’s ignore that...shush...cool fight scene..sakuga ree (was I entertained? yes...do I find this dumb? yes....mindblowing) - Let’s also ignore how the goblins just refuse to go after Eugeo the whole time cause they were knocked down and pushed back a bit because this is SAO..shut up....great episode reee .. Don’t worry..they’ll try going after Kirito when he’s done killing their boss (after magically re-appearing after disappearing so Eugeo has a clear path to the Goblin boss king Dude…fantastic directing if I do say so myself - Fight still trying to convince me there’s tension…The spooky goblin king boss guy who is in such a rage over his arm being cut (Imao) goes for a cup of tea after knocking down Eugeo to allow Kirito and Eugeo to discuss their dreams and goals and what their future kids names will be.. He could have even just carried Eugeo out..made him a nice meal..gotten married and come back to finish the fight in his spare time (it’s not like the goblins are gonna stop them..we’ve pretty much figured out they’re inconsequential by this point).....how could anyone feel like what's going on is dumb? (Like someone said...there's opinions and then there's facts...you're right lol) - Let’s not talk about how dumb it looked like when Eugeo passed out lol…are we sure he wasn’t faking it there cause there’s no way the director saw that and was like “this looks great”..that’s just me… I actually laughed there ...Eugeo is just a sociopath who's bad at improv.. DON'T TRUST HIM KIRITO-KUN!! - Oh yeah… I think we’re supposed to care about their bond here cause…this is SAO homie...really complicated.. God this characters' relationship is so well portrayed reeeee.. - Where are the goblins as this happens also?......when they're leaving you're saying Kirito took out all of those goblins?... Turn your brain off and don’t ask me..this is SAO homie. Shut up and stop hating…this fight scene is so good…totally makes sense. great choreography btw...seriously...you're nitpicking you HATER! - I’ll let how cheap having him use sword skills flawlessly is because “I can use sword skills here…”…and this is SAO so.. Eh....wrong pllace to be looking for in-world progression.. Get em Kirito-kun chan (like some people told me..…I just simply don’t understand this and it’s not like Kirito’s a sword master or anything in this world already………….yah....you're right...this is way to complex I admit…how to defend SAO 101) - “I’m Kirito the Swordsman”…………………………………..pfffffff.. Go get em buddy..rawr. .lol - Let’s also ignore the camera just closing up on the characters to distort the spacial sense of the scene and have you no t realise you’re being BS-ed but…OK...wonderful directing by SAO standards I guess.. - “Selka! Please wake up!”….and after all that racket the damsel in kinda sorta distress wakes up (after sleeping through the noise… I’ll say sleep because this part would just get funnier if we say she was actually unconscious) (Eugeo and Selka are faking it I swear.. Kirito..they messing with you homie..buncha sociopaths)….. This could have worked so much better if she got woken up to see the trying to save her (because there was probably a ruckus from that) in order to save me from this next part … - Lol she doesn’t care about Eugeo. Don’t lie to me Selka..you’d be fine if Eugeo died….some rocks look more worried after you smash their brethren. “Oh he saved me..guess I’ll try I guess”….. She so wants him dead..the level of urgency in her demeanor screams it - But but but.. Muh insecurities > this guy’s life…the episode later tries to convince me that there’s a semblance of emotional connection she may have towards Eugeo’s existence (where Eugeo gives her the talk) - Advanced Magic with the oh so fatal side effect of…making someone faint…fall asleep?...whatever...he'll be fine in a bit…SAO Sugoi!! Kawaiiiii…(I totally agree with presentation quality boiling down to "facts" in certain cases....this was stupid) - That random Alice bit with Kirito was just cringe tbh… was it supposed to feel mysterious..or personal or…I’m honestly trying to care here…so many reasons to care I swear - We all know the cutting down of the tree was just a BS way of getting on with the plot after hammering down how hard it was to cut it down…we know it…don’t lie to yourself....you know it to.. They really tried explaining away why only that axe is used when we’re clearly shown there’s access to other kinds of tools (swords) from the town…they def do more damage than that axe (I bet someone fighting won’t be using it to inflict any lethal damage as compared to a sword so…..after all those generations no-one even thought to use something like the swords available to them to cut down the tree?....sure….this makes a lot of sense…great world building) - Now that they can handle this deus ex machina …excuse me..I mean…sword after fighting some goblins ( watch them try to make progression in this world look kinda difficult later lol)…amazing… that tree plot line was just a convenient and unnecessary excuse to have the characters exposition world building after all huh..OK . They try making the training montage look cool though so SAO fans are probably going to attack anyone who notices how BS this resolution is narratively even after showing how much damage the sword did when they swung it at the tree…but sure let’s just say they don’t have the skill to handle the sword to cut a tree like you guys are telling me..case this is so complicated... If anyone didn't like how this was done they clearly haven't understood what leveling up is...SAO is so deep guys (mahn...sidenote: that sword better do this much damage when used in a fight onwards I swear lol) - Kirito praises Selka’s bravery? in going to the cave?...... - .........this is already long enough and look at how long this is while actively skipping stuff....please don't make me go on *And as someone who's read the LN ("didn't understand"...what was going on in the anime adaptation?...lol..that's really guys...really?)... I'm being super fair here by sticking to the anime cause I can just also get into A-1 going back to being A-1 and just messing up the adaptation on this again (some issues bleed through into how the anime's presented of course but I'll avoid justifying the anime with the source material) Fine.. It’s alright if you love this sort of stuff in an anime and the episode was such a masterpiece that anyone who didn’t like it is such a hater and should keep quiet about not liking what they saw (but it’s OK for people who liked it not to shut up about liking it ?...get over yourselves..the people being referred to here know themselves)…I won’t even bother with what’s dumb about the rest of the episode…now can we freaking move on to a show that tries to be decent at least.. As much as I enjoy SAO I understand I’m being unfair and just hurting myself by expecting certain things from it but if this is the masterpiece of an episode of SAO that warrants childish insults to anyone who doesn’t like what they see then thumbs up (understanding that SAO actually deserves all the well earned hate it gets now after trying to defend it if saying you didn’t like an episode gets this reaction….you don’t wanna see my inbox and whatsapp groups lol) ….and yes to that person..SAO has trash writing….I know it…you know it…the most hardcore fans know it...the writer himself knows it… just because I enjoy it doesn’t mean I have to delude myself into ignoring it’s flaws or insulting people who don’t roll with it and coming up with "uh...you said reasons and didn't explain to my self entitled behind why you didn't like it because I would definitely tell people who said they liked it to explain or else they didn't understand cause what are opinions?" (This anime is trash and all…..but so am I so I like it lol) Noone said you can’t like this just because I didn’t….they are called opinions…deal with them instead of coming for people’s throats just cause you feel this is great (by SAO standards at least).... Noone's opinion matters. There's no point to be so triggered over someone saying they didn't like what you liked. Now if it makes you happy cause this is what you want me to say and I don't need senseless fights online over SAO of all things: This episode was amazing. GREAT writing. OMG did you see how well choreographed that fight scene was?? It was so tense. Kirito was awesome in this. The feels!! Dumb haters can't understand the deep writing of SAO and if they say they didn't like something, they definitely did not understand it. Luckily, I am so smart and a mutant..such that read their minds that I will tell them how wrong they are for thinking otherwise on the most basic thing I liked even when they didn;t say what they didn't like (I'm not a fanboy btw). Only stupid people wouldn't like this. SAO may be really hard to understand but you know what's way harder?...how to freaking @ people goddammit...if someone could explain that? I'm actually serious lol....(might be an issue with my phone's browser or something idk) |

It's just not thrash either, as you seem to wish to believe. I've said that before...maybe twice even? I forget~ I have no idea why you'd get worked up that badly over an episode like this. Light knows there's definately anime episodes worth getting very upset about, but I've yet to see any in this show. Most shows dont have any. You called it thrash, which isnt ''your opinion'' but its making a statement about its actual quality rather then your like/dislike. Disliking is fine. But then you know, actually have some courage and say just that. Instead of finding excuse in the shows quality or whatever other excuse you can find. Also, I didnt bother to read the list with points of...getting triggered I guess? Seems like a pointless waste of time, even for me. |

Very nice and interesting episode for 2 reasons, the first that the tree fell finally and the plot can advance and the second is when Kirito was hurt in the Goblin fighter, I think he does not know yet, he is not aware, but he can die in this world and possibly will die in the true, here is my doubt, for me someone was bad in this new experiment!!! Well, it continues, directly to the city!!!! kekekeke |

Was hoping for a good reason but i guess not lol..... wouldve been better if kirito just totally kicked its ass tbh Not here to just hate on SAO btw before i get attacked by ppl. This arc is really interesting so far |
