| I Haven't watched it but I have heard that most of the Lupin Seasons are Self Contained with 1 or 2 references to the old stuff for the Old Fans. You ca Probably watch it while missing out on some references but really minor ones so there shouldn't be a problem |

| Yes, you can. However, this season contains a bunch of jokes and references to prequels, so you should at least take a look at the last season. But it's not necessary to cunderstand what's going on. |

| My only experience with the Lupin franchise was Yamamoto's Lupin III: Mine Fujiko to Iu Onna before watching Lupin V. Other than knowing who the characters are, I was pretty much unaware of the originals. It hasn't mattered at all as this series is pretty self-contained. |
| In terms of story, Lupin has, in the past, kept things pretty self-contained, with the only recurring thing essentially being the main cast. The only thing this series has are some minor cameos and references to previous series. The stories themselves can absolutely be followed just fine. The only thing you need to know going-in are "Lupin and his gang are thieves that go after grand treasures." |
