THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
Lol, this episode had some bath fan service.

On a more serious note, we got some vampire attacks again in town and never seems to cease in this show. Dorothea and Ryoko are also getting along since their incident.

A pretty straightforward episode tbh. Yuliy and his comrades are still fighting the good fight.

Bath scene was my favorite thing in the whole episode lol

I wonder how the whole vampire business is actually in this series, looking now at this episode's huge amount of the vampires. Did they legit sneak in an army or have they've been turning people into vamps since they got to Japan, thus explaining the huge amount of them? Both seem possible, but didn't they say in earlier episodes that it's easier to figure out if one is vampire when they are "normies" and not the rich mofos? In that case, I doubt they could have come to Japan that easily if they had a big group of those trash ones with them. Any ideas? Or have I forgotten some critical detail?

So the commander can kick vampire asses too huh...

The action of the series always keeps me on the edge, love it.
Masahiro Sato is one of the best in the business at directing exciting action scenes, the last episode showed that as well.

4.5/5 Next episode seems to continue centering on the brothers' relationships, Seems like their relationship is the main focus of the show.

If there is an anime out there with better fight scenes, then please tell me about it. It made me speechless, the scene with the professor and later on when Mikhail appeared - this was just insane. The only anime that comes to my mind that has similar breath taking scenes is Shingeki no Kyoujin. I'm not the biggest fan of the series in general, but the fight scenes are also pretty dope.
Back to Sirius: 4.5? What's then 5 in your opinion? I'm so used to get disappointed by every show/tv series/book/manga, I learned to lower my expecations. I thought this episode would be pretty calm, the plot woudn't move forward, no action. I also thought we woudn't see the brothers together anymore (maybe at the end when they will fight each other in a very tragic way), because ... you know ... life isn't THAT good. Apperantly it is. I'm honestly thinking this is my all time favorite show. No joke. The joy I feel watching this is as insane as those fight scenes. On a sidenote: how the characters "bond" is written very well. I love Philip. The irish guy is the only one that's underdeveloped until now.

The best recommendation I could have given you is Stranger Mukou Hadan, being my favorite original anime action movie ever and having the same action director - Mashiro Sato. But you already saw that movie.
It's hard to recommend something so similar to Sirius the Jaeger's action other than stranger mukou hadan but give a shot to these:

Hellsing Ultimate - A gory vampire action, lots of blood and a horror themed show. The main character is very likable, and the action is very thrilling and exciting, it's not incredibly fast paced but give it a shot.

God Eater - Produced by Ufotable, it has incredible CG Visuals, and the show is pretty similar to Shingeki no kyojin. The soundtrack is incredible as well.

Vampire Hunter D (2000) - This movie has great fast-paced action scenes that you might really enjoy watching. And also focuses on vampire action. (You don't have to watch the 1985 movie before, but it's a great movie as well.
If you want more then contact me through pm or something.

Getting on topic...
It's not really expectation, but what I thought of this episode individually, I only think of the actual final score of the series when I finish it, I just find it completely meaningless if I rate beforehand.
5 is pretty much the episodes that I will remember for a long time.

I love this series a lot as well, out of this season it's my favorite together with Shoujo Kageki revue starlight with its brilliant animation, art direction, storyboard and use of the music genre.
Not getting too off topic again, I don't think this series is perfect, but it definitely has every asset to make it fun as it already is for me. I also like the soundtrack.
And yeah I think they are doing a pretty good job developing the characters as well, even though they're obviously centering on yuliy and his brother relationship.

Besides that, I don't know what to tell you about being disappointed with every show, I don't feel that often, and I don't even remember if I did. There are always things that disappointing but it never happened to me so drastically from what I comprehend from you. Open your mind, expect from an anime what there need to be expected from genre, staff involved, studio and such. I think that's the best way to enjoy an anime. Sirius the jaeger is in a good hands, so I doubt it will be on a different level than it has been, so maybe you have a new favorite :)

Amazing animation! I don't understand why Mashiro Sato isn't in the mal database; is he under a different name? Ughh cannot get enough of it.

Getting a lil crush on Mikhail slowly. Really how I wish I could binge this show.

Something really makes me think of B: The Beginning when I see action scenes from this animation. The rapidity and flow of it strike me as if being somehow related to each other. But maybe it is an overall impression as both series are extremely well-crafted.

It seems Gustaf has contacted the Major and will now bring the Imperial Army to fight the horde of vampires when everything seems lost to despair.

The vampires have made their large-scale attack on the mansion and so far, it has been really exciting.

All of the fight scenes have been animated brilliantly. The choreography, plus the sound and visual effects of the guns, crossbows and swords make each scene really engaging, thrilling and gets me all excited!

Yuily does have it tough as he and Philip are up against Yuily's brother and Kerschner. Now that will be another potential great fight scene that will have to continue next week. Looking forward to it. =)

Say what you want, but this series is constantly moving with no real filler and I absolutely respect that. We're still a bit far from the factions coalescing since it seems like Iba is still collecting information, but my guess is that after this battle, Ryouko will join the main cast (she's basically eating up screentime like main cast at this point anyway) in their fight abroad and Iba will chase after them too. At this point there's no chance that Yuliy and Phillip will be able to fight off Kershner and Mikhail so someone's gotta make a difference, whether it be Dorothea/Fallon, Professor, or Ryouko.

But at this point I don't imagine anyone dying since this series seems to be setting up for a 2-cour. Maybe Kershner will be wounded and Mikhail will leave on the pretense of trying to save his life so he could avoid a head-on battle with Yuliy, or maybe the police will show up because of the fire, but a death doesn't seem necessary or plot-advancing here so everyone should get out in one piece. Either way, looking forward to next week.

Do we know yet if 2 cour? I certainly hope so as my enjoyment of this increases per episode. Great vampire hunter show with actual evil vampires that act like monsters. Time period set up is actually a nice touch. If you thought this show was missing something in the beginning, stick with it cause you won't be dissapointed.

A really good episode with some really top-notch animation.

Ryoko is determined and has some ability to fight so I can appreciate that she is not a useless girl in an anime like this, where most females would be portrayed as useless.

A huge horde of vampires are now attacking and its looking tough to handle. Especially since Yuliy and Philip have to take on Mikhail and Kerschner. I'm pretty excited to see how that's handled.

Tenrou's biggest problem for me was that the story wasn't really progressing well enough, but now it's getting better and better, so that's a good sign :)

"Dont you want revenge ? Dont you think about exterminating every one of those responsible for the death or your parents ?" No because i'm not edgy battle shounen character.

I can see it now already, MC and his brother, their relationship is the same edgy kind of like Sasuke and his brother lol.

I like this episode a lot. My most favourite character now is Mikhail yuliy older brother he is badass. I wonder how Yuliy and phillip can handle kershener and Mikhail. As Yuliy struggle to fight against Mikhail let alone beat the both of them.

Williard is pretty badass as well seems he knows how to fight vampire pretty well and he is pretty strong himself.

This anime deserve a season 2 for me. This along with SNK and Overlord have been star of this season for me.

The mystery of this series is what is the sirius Arc? and what can It do?,what is yegraf goals, what is Mikhail goals and why he made blood pact with vampires willingly when he use too care about his brother before? We get the answer this soon or later.

Saddened to see that they're giving Ryoko a chance to shine. Idk she should just keep it to her studies and her regular sword training but not get involved in a world where she doesn't belong. Her romantic interest towards Yuliy is getting on my nerves too, the boy just wants revenge, let him be.

Im hyped for next episode, im really liking this anime, nice art and animations!

Please let Ryoko shine, she is really good character, and of course cute, want to see her development and Yuliy's development aswell!

Cant wait to see Yuliy resolving this fight, and of course his brother Mikhail is really badass.

I agree. I still do not understand why people hate Ryoko. It's nonsensical to me. She can't be a character because she has a crush on the main? She actually has some depth to her since despite her crush (which, let's be honest, why wouldn't the teen girl be interested in the mysterious, good looking boy who can kick butt with ease?), her desire to be more is pushing her towards this adventure. The possibility of romance is more of an add-on right now, but the story seems to revolve around revenge and the journey our main character must go through to realize he should not make his life revolve around it. Coupled with his brother, his growing relationships with the other teammates as friends, Ryoko may provide a meaning to his life that he doesn't have right now. It's the journey back to personhood he is making, despite him still being defined by "hating vampires".

That's my opinion so I'm speaking for myself only, but I've always thought and still think that one does not necessarily need romance to find a reason to live. The plot of the main finding himself a girl who will give him a reason to live is so boring and outdated. Why would Ryoko be the one to give him that reason? I have nothing against her being there, I have nothing against women warriors (I love them a lot in fact) but I have a thing against girls falling in love with the first mysterious guy they see and following him just because "damn that guy is so handsome and interesting".
Anyway, I say that but it's not that bad in this show, if it was it would've ruined my enjoyment but it didn't. I'm just writing this to explain why she's kind of annoying to me! The story is amazing and doesn't deserve me dropping it over that, it's still a 9/10 to me.

Really loved the action in this epsiode! The scene in the bar was quite violent and awesome! The Professor doesn't hold anything back!

I am starting to like Ryoko, in the end, I don't really care if she's a character for romance or not. I just hope that she can put her "Swordmanship" to good use to help V Shipping out against those Vampires.

I think Ryoko will only be part of that reason. Family, friends, a potential partner - all of them together are going to be the larger answer and this show is not focused on the romance. You can actually see it thus far with Yuliy spending a lot of screentime wrestling with his brother, understanding that his friends care about him to the point of giving up their own prejudices, etc. Ryoko is getting no more time spent on her than any of those other influences. I might have a problem too if this was a traditional romance where the whole reason for being is the "soulmate", but this is FAR from that. Yuliy still barely registers with her, and Ryoko isn't doing everything just for Yuliy. The scene with her defending the family has zero to do with Yuliy really. If this show had made that annoying cliched character you are thinking of, the first thing she would have done is abandon the family and looked for Yuliy just to "be with him". Surprisingly, in a very good way, the show is mildly complex when it comes to our main protagonists.

Thank you for the recommandations! Oh yeah, now that you mention Stranger Mukou Hadan - hell yeah! It's the same feeling. The fight scene were crazy good in this movie. I have also seen Vampire Hunter D and some episodes of Hellsing Ultimate. For some reason I always had a hard time to get into the latter. I don't know about God Eater though. I will check that out.

Talking about Sirius: I really loved episode 6 for several reasons. I must say I'm not so happy with episode 7 that aired today. So ... I wonder if I will get disappointed again? Haha! No, I'm just joking. Getting disappointed by a story - or should I say a certain kind of storytelling? - is not necessarily a bad thing. It was the reason why I started writing my own stories 12 years ago. I thought I could do better! LOL And now I'm a professionall writer (since 3 years). I'm German, btw. So my English is a lacking.

With the Ryoko romance route, I feel like if the creators decide to pursue that they will make her an extremely useful and talented fighter. She said that she wants to be in Yuily's world and understand him. Hopefully they develop the romance at the same time they'll develop her becoming a badass.

And that's why I said "it's not that bad in this show", since they don't focus on it too much etc, but still I'm kind of annoyed by just her being in love him. At least she knows how to fight, I hope she'll become more of a good fighter than a romantic interest, seems like it's going that way since Yuliy doesn't really care about her. (Though she kinda followed him on the train and went to visit him when he was supposed to stay hidden from the others, those are cliché and not clever decisions)
Anyway I guess everyone has that character they don't like because reasons!

"Her romantic interest towards Yuliy is getting on my nerves too"

As long as handsome, sulking Yuliy keeps her in the friend-zone while acting totally clueless towards her, I'm fine with it all.

Now, if he was totally on to her and knew exactly what he was doing by acting clueless ... even better!

His big bro is fine. Long, lean, sex Vampire machine. I don't care for the haircut though. His long silver locks are lovely but I just can't get past the buzz cut that comes before the flowing locks ... still, this series is my favorite this time around.

Good episode, I liked the action and the brother relationship is also keeping me engaged.

The show is so-so, but these aspects are still entertaining enough to continue.

If we're comparing anime originals, this is so much better than Re:Creators so far.

The ending action was beautifully animated. I thought bath tub scene was hilarious. Can't wait to see the rest of the fight.

Lol scientist really did get upset over Michael killing his favorite toy lol. The whole segment was hilarious.

Ryouko challenging her father's command was admirable. "Stand back father, i will protect us"

Overall probably the weakest episode out of all aired so far.

I feel bad for the bartender guy. And that Major Iba, will he help exterminating the vampires or not? As per Ryouko, it's a good thing that she's showing her skills and it maybe really useful. Her, protecting the people in their mansion is a good idea instead of deliberately jump in the fight between the fight of Jaegers and Vampires. I understand that her father is protective and I hope nothing bad will happen to them. So is there a chance to reverse Mikhail?

6th episode was great.

The action was good. This anime is underrated, I have seen worse anime getting more love than this one. Just because some self-important MAL sycophants went all out hate on this show, doesn't mean they are right.
Good thing I refuse to listen to apologists and gave this show a chance.

Ryouko who is a reckless child seemed that way and I expected her to become the damsel in distress of this story but looking at it another way, we can see her joining the Hunters (Jaegers) and maybe forming a Japanese branch of Hunters in the future. They had to put in a Japanese character in the midst of all these foreigners.

We are halfway through the show and I am still hooked.
