Does anyone know their other credentials? Strangely, if you take a peek at the staff roster, Megalo Box is the only listed under many of the staff's bios - including the director. I was almost certain that they had people from the Eureka 7 team on character design and Champloo team on music but now I'm a bit confused. The only thread I can pull is that it's the same audio that did Mine Fujiko, some of which worked on Champloo, but that's it. Anyone have any deets on this?

I got the same vibes too. Funny thing, the art style and music are probably the best things about this show. The animation leaves a lot to be desired unfortunately :c

I don’t necessarily agree, I think the creators/animators of the show aren’t trying to blow their budget on huge, dynamic character movements, or large moving crowd shots. Instead, what I think they’re doing is holding out for the big final fight with Yuuri, giving us a couple pretty alright cuts here and there, (such as Joe and Yuuri’s first bout in episode two) to keep us from saying the show is just a bunch of still shots strung together.

I’d also say don’t expect this show to have a brisk pace, since it’s pacing is clearly meant to be slow and methodical. A lot of buildup, with a really good payoff (hopefully).

I think its reasonable to expect the fight scenes to at least look good. Ashita no Joe didn't have the budget per say, but the animation is way better than Megalo Box despite being in the 70s. I bring Ashita no Joe up since Megalo Box is supposedly the spiritual successor of that show.

I don't mind it being slow paced either, but I'm not sure how it's supposed to be like that considering its only 13 episodes (unless it gets another season).

Still gonna watch it, since its like the best thing that came out this year, but with some reservations

I find it pretty good so far in terms of animation. I don't usually watch this kind of show and went in with really low expectations.
