The journey to the pro scene continues...

I have to admit, this series is getting better in terms of adapting with the characters' journey to succeed. Making good plays aren't easy to make but some characters really make them look like a piece of cake.

I just want to see Bonba be less of a loser. I don't want to watch a sports anime where the main character has no redeeming qualities; that's boring and exhausting. I hope he keeps getting better here ...

Just watched ep3 and I have to say I love this series. Its killing me inside to see so many giving it low scores. It's averaging a 5.71 on MAL right now and that is a travesty. The show is a refreshing light take on the pressure of pro league baseball and its awesome, the characters are so likable.

Maybe I'm missing something, but isn't that kind of unfair to have a guy that hits 1 inning and make him have a 3 ERA or such, when even 1 hit means you get a 9? Or are they allowed a higher ERA due to being only 1?

ERA is just a simple formula:
ERA = 9 × (Earned Runs Allowed / Innings Pitched)

It's multiplied by 9 because it calculates how many runs a pitcher would allow in a full 9-inning game.

I think the point they were making is that as a reliever if you give up a run, since you're pitching such a short time, your ERA can grow quickly. That being said the formula is the same for relievers and starting pitchers.

True, but it would only take 2 bad games where only 1 person scores and suddenly your got a ERA of 18, especially if they might only play 1-2 innings in 50 games maybe, just seems a bit harsh heh.

Maybe it's harsh. It's just a measurement though. One would have to give up 2 runs every inning to get an ERA of 18. But baseball has a long season 144 (JP) or 162 (US) games. So the stats tend to even out over time (sort of like what we saw in this episode).

True :> it just feels like less room for error with a shorter pitcher :>

As a baseball fan, I love getting a look at the game from inside the head of a middle-of-the-road player. So many other shows spend all their time on the best of the best and no one else.

It'd be interesting to hear what the real life ballplayers think of this series and if it's accurate to what they go through.

Favorite episode yet, better character dynamic and I liked the feel of comradeship here.

Seems like Bonda has redeemed himself but Yukio is the one who made their team Spiders won! cuz of so many home runs!

Yeah this was a good episode and the show is growing more on me, also definitely liking that you get to see the commentators perspective. I still wonder who the girl in the OP & ED is, think she showed in like on scene.

I llked the part about the "young ace". In this episode the anime seemed to me more like a traditional spokon and I don't know if I should be happy because it's more entertaining or unhappy because it's a less original and daring approach... Anyway, I don't think the show will go down this slope.
PS: how many of you guys think that the opening music sucks? (I do)
