| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- Hmm...I think this first episode was okay. We got Aoi who can apparently see spirits but she's also a hardworker. I kinda like that as part of her character. It didn't really take long for her to encounter a strange character with a mask. We already see a little bit of her past and pretty sure that's going to be recurring throughout the show as we learn more about Aoi. The connection she has with that ayakashi will probably be a big part of the show as he calls her his "bride". Seems like a really lighthearted show so far. |

Well, let's look into this shall we ? - Edgy black haired male MC forcing girl to marry him. - Bland female MC with nothing and anything interesting. - Second male MC (this time white hair - how unexpected) kind, gentle. - 2 more males comming. Yep ... this is otome as hard as it can be. But i will continue watching, because "shrine" anime are like always good. Also 26 episodes ? Will this cover the whole thing ? |

| Best first episode so far. It's nothing new by any means but i liked the execution of it and i'm a sucker for atmospheric stuff like this. Some shots in this episode were really beautiful, i like the MC and the OP is really good. |
| The OP and ED song is good, quite good first ep. Since the Aoi VA is the same VA that voiced Lyria (GBF), sometimes when Aoi speaks, She remind me of Lyria. |
| This was a decent first episode. OP and ED are okay and so are the visuals. The poor girl doesn't want to marry that ogre and is now going to have to work to pay off her grandpa's debt. Ginji is quite nice. Some more ayakashi are coming over. |

| It is still just the first episode, but I feel like I'm going to enjoy this. The OP is also really great. Sure, it resembles Kamisama Kiss a bit, but this has a more mature atmosphere. |
| Totally baseless speculation: Oni was probably the ayakashi who saved her as a child, and at some point he and Grandpa worked out a deal so that Oni would take care of Aoi after Grandpa died. Grandpa's "debt" was an intentional setup and is probably for her wedding dress. XD Guessing the two in the ending are a wolf and a tengu. Got less feelings of otome/harem than them being antagonistic towards the Oni with Aoi as a possible target to get to him thru. Please, no one who knows the source confirm/deny. XD It'll be more fun to watch and see for myself. |

| Really love ep 1, idk why it's kinda giving me this old anime franchise vibe, despite i haven't sold on the romance(the oni lord), but i really loving the mood and vibe so much, especially the OST and OP, can't wait for ep 2, let's see where it goes, glad its 2 cours instead of 1! |

| Started watching this because I liked Natsume and Uchouten Kazoku a lot. I still don't know what to make of this first episode, but I'm not dropping it for now. There might be another reason for his grand-father making this promess. Other than being irresponsible. |

| Decent first impression. Didn't like the OP as much as the ED. The animation was nice and I've got nothing bad to say about the characters. Still, it all feels quite bland still. Hopefully we'll see the main characters and their personalities develop through the episodes, and not stay still in order to fulfill their 'roles'. |

| First half of the episode was meh for me, to be honest the man oni was quite unlikable and uninteresting for me (have to agree with the "edgy" description), but I kinda liked Ginji and the set up with the little restaurant. I'll give this few more episodes, even though I feel like there's gonna be a love triangle between the main three, and when that happens I'm out. |

| I get a very distinct Kamisama Kiss vibe from this and I love it! Both male characters are nice to look at and have very different personalities. So far Ginji is my favorite because he does remind me a lot of Tomoe. The Ogre God is a close second because he just gives off a vibe that he seems like he is cruel, but really isn't. Aoi not only has a good head on her shoulders, but is hard working and a good cook. Definitely my favorite first episode of the season and one that I will definitely watch til the end! |

| It was an alright first episode, but that was to be expected since it was just an introduction. They definitely put enough plot hooks and suggestions to keep me interested. |
| It's between okay / I liked it. I think people always watch anime with high expectations if you do that you'll always be let down tbh. There's a lot of serious anime out this season and I just want something to watch without thinking much. I liked Hanasaku Iroha, Konohana Kitan, Kamisama Kiss, Natsume Yuujinchou, Spirited Away, and Youkai Apartment and it gives those vibes to a certain extent which is what I expected. So far I'd rate episode 1 a 7 the animation was a bit wonky but that's just Gonzo I guess..... Meh seems like most anime studios are lacking with animation lately. People complain about the story but if its entertaining I'll watch it. Don't dig too deep with small details or you'll be disappointed with most anything in animes/movies and various things in life :). It's not a masterpiece but it's not bad. |

| I like Touyama Nao but i think she doesn't suit the character very well this time. I usually get bored very easily with this kind of pseudo otome harem, so I hope we get more of the time expended in the supernatural and adventure events than the "love story". An average start. |

| Very mediocre so far. It seems like an obvious wish-fulfillment fantasy for women. I mean, a hot oni wants to marry her against her will, he's both dangerous and sexy, but also kind. I bet he's also secretly been in love with her for a while. Hopefully it will get more interesting. |
| So it's like Mahoutskai no Yome but with actual romance... it's a little offputting and the production values aren't high but it's competent enough. I might stick with it if there aren't any better reverse harem type shows this season. The white-haired guy was so good that the black haired one was bearable. Suzie said: Too bad the production value is super low xD But the boys are kind of really my type so I might make this my guilty pleasure of the season <3 I'm just happy it looks better than 18if... oh god 18if. |

| Catchy OP and ED, I like them. Decent first episode in my opinion. It was enjoyable and interesting enough. It has both that lighthearted and touching feel. Might come to enjoy this one a lot. So far, it could go both ways, especially with 26 episodes. But so far, so good, though. |

| While not wholly offensive, I found this show grating for me. Seems like Kamisama Kiss x Spirited Away without any of the quality that can be found in either. I'll give it another two episodes to wow me but this wasn't a great start. The otome angle is obvious. The character writing is, to be frank, bad. The dialogue and reactions to everything aren't even remotely believable. Also, can we please stop with the stockholm syndrome romances. I let Ancient Magus get away with it since it was about Chise breaking the bonds of her past and Elias' desire to control her but this girl seems to have a pretty alright life after her grandpa showed up. |
| I can sum up this anime and episode in Three words. "This is terrible" My god I was literally falling asleep watching this anime it was so bad. Okay maybe "bad" isn't the right word to use. Let's go with unpleasant. It felt really fast paced, and they basically forced everything on you. Aoi just accepted her grandfather wasn't garbage in the end lol. Like girl he sold your rights!!!! Ill give it 2 more episodes but this...meh borderline dropped |

| Must say that I rather enjoyed this first episode. The atmosphere and characters are working well for me. The food porn segment at the end felt a bit out of place, but I think this was a good start. They packed a lot into this episode. Let’s see if they can keep it going at a good pace... especially since this appears to be a two cour show. |
| I've seen worse first episodes. I consider this one slightly above average in terms of entertainment, interest, and actually caring about what is going on, but there were a lot of issues with it as well. Regardless, a first episode that actually makes me want to see the second episode to see how things will turn out is a good episode. |
| That was a fantastic first episode! I really love the atmosphere of the show and it's so light-hearted. The visuals are pretty good too, not to mention the OP and ED. The Kappa's were so cute, especially the shy one~ |

I'm sure that if it really was Oni then the author will hold off revealing that until the very last moment sometime during the final arc. >_>;; That IS how these things usually work after all. |

| Not so indepth first episode for mixed tone anime like this. Feels bland in first person story telling, unlike 3gatsu , etc. We still dont know how this series gonna turn for 24 episode. |
