Hello Akihabara~

Well this was fun. I mean, to see them visit Akihabara is like going to a cultural world with anime themes. Not surprised how all the characters got excited by their experience there.

I'm also starting to like Kai more.
He is the man of the episode tbh. Nice to see the anime club staying!

So the first crisis was averted and they managed to form their club but it seems someone is forced to watch a lot of anime now.
It was a funny episode as well especially in the store with the cards.

Everyone had a nice time at Akihabara, especially Minoa. She was amazed by it. Kai is the MVP for this episode. He gave a powerful speech that saved their club.

This anime is so trashy, but at least it makes for a fun time. :D KaiKai is the boss.

Finally a Madoka reference.

I was curious about the cat, so I checked the website and it says his favorite anime is Kemono and his favorite character is Serval. GOD TASTE NEKO-SENPAI

As an anime fan for years, this is the first time I've felt that I can relate to all the anime characters in an anime. Hahaha. They're the epitome of every otaku in the anime community and I wonder if there'll be an epitome of a weeaboo soon in this show. Hahaha that'll be interesting! Lmfao.

Though, I can relate to that blonde girl the most.

We had a brief BL moment there. The girls are all fujoshi. Ohmygod. Hahahaha!

So happy that they finally became an official club. I just want to slap the Student Council for criticizing anime. I bet that President is lowkey an anime fan or she used to be in the Anime Club. Idk.

Neko-senpai preview, as always, was glorious. Haha.

Liked this episode.

P.S. Them showing Akiba made me want to visit Japan more and spend my entire day in Akiba. Waaaaaah.

"Maybe he's trying to take a shit, but the shit just won't come out."

Well this anime is full of clichés. A complete novice lured into the anime world. Set up an anime club with a chuunibyou and an Ojou Sama. Student council trying to crush a single club for no apparent reason. Them visiting Akiba and ikebukuro. Usually theses kinds of anime suck. But this surprsimg enjoyable. I like all the characters and their seiyuu. Hope this gets a sequel in future. Much better than many other anime this season.

Any one notice the Akiba's trip anime opening running in the background when they visit Akiba. Such a nostalgic song. It was about 2-3 seasons ago. But hearing it today made remember watching tat trash anime as if it was yesterday .

Anime-gataris Episode 3 Impressions:

Based on the first three episodes I have watched, I can tell the direction of the anime series will focus on entertainment. I am ok with this. While there are serious moments with characters, most of the time used in each episode explores the some part of otaku culture and uses many anime references in decently humorous ways to drive the entertainment. I can also tell based on how much references and moments there were in this episode, that the staff were really dedicated to this anime and put much care into it. 60% entertainment and 40% seriousness. Things will probably get even crazier when the next episodes come when the secret of the club gets revealed with the Neko.

This episode's first half covers Minos exploring the culture of anime otakus in Akihabara. Minoa as a new anime fan seems to be really enjoying pointing out the anime Arisu and the rest of the club recommend to her. I get to see Erika's enjoyable passion in the cosplay shop. Arisu and Miko seem to get along with more similar anime opinions with the 3 episode rule conversation. Erika made the right choice to have the club go to places where otaku can fully express themselves. I can see that most members are really getting to understand each other well a little bit more.

Kai Kai gets the most character development with his relationship with Minoa. He might be super crazy into acting like a shounen protagonist, but he surprisingly has a doubtful side when he confronts Minoa being overwhelmed by his passion. As clueless Minoa might be, she can clearly tell passion from a person and enjoys seeing that love the most from the anime club members. Seeing KaiKai returning the favor of Minoa's appreciation by justifying the purpose of the anime club in the most outlandishly fun way possible. The problem the anime club faces is definitely cliche, but the entertaining moments that happen more than make up for it.

The ones that could care less about the anime club like Masato and Tsubaki mention something about the club that could possibly lead to chaos. I wonder what that could be. Based on the opening, I could see anime characters coming out to the real world to cause that chaos. Great episode overall. There's a lot of interesting things that happen in this anime that is definitely worth discussing. More anime fans need to get into Animegataris stat, this is a really fun series! So far, the anime has not wasted my time, spending time delving into interesting topics and exploring situations that I can relate to.

Akiba's Trip opening music playing in the anime store.

Very nice speech there by Kai, that face by Miko afterwards.

The student council president mentioned Erika, I wonder if they were in an anime club a long time ago and something bad happened which is why she always tries to abolish them.

Not gonna lie. If I got too busy and had to start dropping anime, this would probably be the first to go. It's... entertaining haha but I think it's got me shaking my head more than getting really hooked & into it.

That said, this was... hmm. Interesting haha. The trip to Akiba was pretty fun. Really makes me want to go there honestly >.>;;; Kai's definitely shaping up to be a favorite of mine haha. He's such a weeb (at least as we'd call em here) but he's a lot of fun. He can't help it. He's passionate ;o; And I can't say I'm not even the least bit similar once someone gets me started on my favorite anime >.>;;;;

I've gotta... smh at the scene near the end where Kai tripped. Gotta parody that queerbaiting/fujobaiting in anime amiright pfft. That... also reminds me, I've gotta say uuh... whatshisface. Sparkly boy. Is not a favorite of mine. We'll have to see how his character centric ep goes but... man.... I was p excited for him too. I love me some pretty boys.... and a pretty boy who's a total anime loving dork??? Why not. Why not. I dig it. But so far he's just been kinda annoying -.-;

I'm really enjoying this so far.

I like how colorful the show is, the color palette just stands out as being so vibrant, and all of the characters look distinctly different. The OP is catchy as hell too.

I laugh at all of the shit anime puns they make to avoid saying the real names: Ru: Zero and whatnot.

Funny how they were making fun of the three episode rule in the third episode, and then also referenced Madoka and Love Live as prime 3 episode examples.

Also if you listen closely, you'll notice in the scene right where they go into that "Anime Soul" place and start looking at the novel and keychains, in the background you can hear the in-store music playing and it's actually the OP theme for Akiba's Trip: The Animation. Huge fucking pun there since they were in Akiba.

I've done the three episode rule for years now, I even mentioned it on here. What is surprising is finding out the Japanese do it as well and it being brought up in an anime. That's just something I naturally started doing after watching a fair number of shows so it was a surprise to see it brought up.

Kai Senpai really gave an extremely passionate speech about Battle Anime. I like male characters in Anime that are self-assertive, active to voice an opinion or do something for others instead of being passive and waiting for others to get stuff done.

Kai Senpai fits the bill, as he was very active in helping Minoa out with taking over the speech from her when Minoa fumbled and screwed up with her speech. The other 3rd year Senpai girl also felt relieved that Kai helped out.

Kai's activeness, self-assertiveness, and passionate feelings for something ( Battle Anime ) are good manly traits and that makes me like him a lot, as he reminded me of another male character from another Anime known as Gonna be Twin Tails, where Souji Mitsuka passionately talked about his love for twin tails many times, even making a short speech defending one of the heroines in front of her mom in this admirable scene : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qK8_wbh091k

Kai speaking in behalf of Minoa is reminiscent of that scene above when Souji spoke to defend one of her female comrades.

I like male characters who aren't afraid to speak up their mind and have a strong passion for something, as such characters have a unique trait that would make some real life girls fall in love with, and such male characters as Kai and Souji which have a deep burning passion for something, as well as the male character from Masamune-kun no Revenge, which has a deep and strong goal and motivation for one purpose, are male characters in Anime that I can relate more to, compared to bland, boring and blank-state MCs such as Ayato Amagiri, Ichika, and Mononobe Yuu, who all seem pretty plain and boring personalities with no deep passion for anything, no opinions for anything, no unique traits, and can't speak up their mind on anything.

Anyway, Kai Senpai is the best boy for this episode, and best girl award for this episode goes to the female MC, Minoa, as she acted as a "sidekick character" for Kai in this episode, as they had the most chemistry-strong interactions in this episode, and it was for Minoa that Kai got moved to do the speech.
I am someone that would like to watch a Harem Anime with 2 male leads that each gets their own harem company of girls from the main cast. For example, 1st male lead gets a company of 4 girls and 2nd male lead gets 2-3 girls etc.

I liked that it was him who delivered the speech and not Minoa. Totally averting the trope of the Newbie who saves everyone. I liked more how even if he was a loud dork he can be serious and mature sounding when needed. We need more characters as good role models like him.

About the synopsis:

While they stand against the student council's continuous efforts to disband their club, and they ignore the impending end of the world, they talk about anime, whether in Akiba, or in real-life "sacred place" anime settings, or the hot springs.

Akihabara episode shown in episode 3 although I could see it happen again in later episodes considering the shows genre.

Real-life "sacred place" anime settings? I bet one of the club member will talk about an anime that use disclaimer like those kyoto animation shows.

and also..

we might get hot spring episode based on synopsis. hehe.

Well they are clearly hinting that the cosplay girl and student council president have history and it seems anime is the source of their disagreements. Even the teacher guy says there's a rumour that they have consistently shut down anime clubs and cosplay girl and the battle shounen guy pretty much confirmed that with their little convo outside of the teacher's lounge.

This really is an anime fan's anime. The amount of references are starting to get astronomical. I even saw Kazuma's jumpsuit.

Talking about dropping an anime by episode 3 on the third episode was great.

Kai's speech should bring a tear to every anime fan's eye. But I have to wonder what the council president meant when she said it's happening again.
