Okay, I'm all for gender equality and against feminism but what's up with this MC being a no fun allowed violence approved idealistic sexist, I get that it's his role in the series but even if it's for a gag, it's not funny. A reaction or two would've suffice considering his role, and just let idiots be idiots

Maybe he's a tsundere and it will show later. One of the genres is Romance after all. You caught my attention on the MAL forum index with this. I think I have to see it.

there is no way to deal with an idiot like yoshiko without using violence
she will not understand anyway
just remember what she did to sayaka ....

those idiots don't let him live in peace ...

I don't see what's to hate, I actually love his character.
Besides, it's not like you can fix her stupidity anyway without using violence...
Do you honestly think Yoshiko will fix her attitude with a simple,
"Please stop harassing me?" or a "Leave me alone"?
Of course not, you can't fix stupid, and she's past the level of help, even her own mother has given up hope of her ever succeeding...
Besides it's a nice change, there are a million animes where the guy gets the crap beaten out of him, I for one, like the change.

People are on Akkun's side because of Yoshiko and her mom.

But really, almost everybody's a bit unlikeable in this. This includes the MC, who while he is being harassed, is aloof and condescending to others that even Sayaka said he would have no friends except for Yoshiko (he may have brought this on himself).

Akutsu wouldn't mind letting idiots be idiots, but the idiot make sure that she irritates the crap out him. I mean, the guy lives in an environment where his only true friend is a dog. I'm surprised that he hasn't killed Yoshiko yet tbh.

It's an over-exaggerated comedy for... comedic effect. Some people enjoy this type/style of comedy while others don't. Obviously him punching someone (especially a girl) with no consequences is unrealistic. I wouldn't read too much into his actions. Just enjoy it.

This is supposed to be slapstick comedy and that might not be your thing. I can still understand why you think he's violent. German suplexes aren't exactly non-violent, but where are you getting the sexist vibe from? Just because he wants to focus on his studies and isn't apparently interested in any of the girls makes him sexist? Or do you think a man beating up a woman is sexist by default regardless of any context?
Something witty that makes you think I'm funny

This show is so highly rated with me because the male MC can finally smack the shit out of annoying characters and it doesn't seem so sexist. When tsundere shit like Louise does it? Is it okay? No, it's not but she does it anyway. Tsundere are shit. Would murder all of them if I had a chance.

is nobody going to question OP's logic of being for gender equality but against feminism?
feminism at it's base is seeking equal grounds for men and women. Radical feminism is a different beast altogether.
Also this is a SLAPSTICK comedy.
Anime is littered with violent tsundere's yet the second a male does it, it turns into a big deal for some people.

This argument is just stupid.

did no harm? this girl literaly dragged him everywhere and being total annoyance and literaly molested him too many times... not to mention his mother literaly want his daughter to rape him... if a man doing that to a girl and his father even suggested to drugged her, he would be in jail already...

Yoshiko is one of those special dumb people who intentionally put people in danger or cause those around her extreme misery. She has it coming especially with her sexually harassing and molesting (of both sexes).

I think Yoshiko deserves whatever comes her way as she's irritating and drives Akkun crazy. If I had a friend like Yoshiko, I'd go crazy myself. If you pay attention, Akkun hits her only when she goes overboard and gets overbearing. I'd never be on Yoshiko's side even if she is a girl. I really hope Akkun doesn't end up falling for her. Oh, God. Please no.

I bet it's okay for most people if the girl was the tsundere and she's the one hitting the boy.

People confuse use of "MC", which is supposed to mean the protagonist which is Yoshiko in Aho Girl, not the character of main cast.

Well, MC is initially Main Character besides protagonist

And you wouldn't get confused if you actually read the first comment, which is clearly talking about the male MC

How is he a sexist? Just because he is hitting a female character, he is now a sexist? Nowhere in the show it is even implied that MC is hitting Yoshiko because she is a female. The genders of the characters don't matter at all.
If the gender roles were swapped, I don't think a thread like this would have existed. Crazy how someone else is actually the sexist here...

Hey! SJWs! go off and watch another anime. This is a SLAPSTICK COMEDY, made to make you laugh.

It is not a social experiment to show the difference between men and women or to show violence against any gender. It is a show about a girl who is a idiot, using standard Japanese physical humour.

Honesty do you even think the Mangaka think this an important issue? No he just want to put in as many joke as he can.

TLDR: SJW feck off.

You're wrong.

In a ton of other animes, females beat up males for no justified reason, but in this Aho Girl show, the female lead gets beaten up for an understandable reason, and that is due to her stupidity and constant troubling and physical harassment and groping attempts of everyone around her including A-Kun.

Yoshiko is guilty for attempting Gyaku Chikan or Reverse Groping and Reverse Sexual Harassment on many characters including the A-Kun and other girls in this show, so beating her up is Justified.
I am someone that would like to watch a Harem Anime with 2 male leads that each gets their own harem company of girls from the main cast. For example, 1st male lead gets a company of 4 girls and 2nd male lead gets 2-3 girls etc.

Like I said, I'm all for gender equality, and I do hate violent tsunderes coz they beat the shit of guys but that doesn't justify A-kun's actions

Girls beating guys in a ton of other anime so it's okay to the guys to beat girls too, dumbest fucking logic ever

the male mc is a boring to watch... all his tsundere behavior is annoying.

also that dog is no funny.

Would have been better without those 2.
But at the sametime I know that the anime wouldn't be what it's without that male mc, I think.

While yeah....considering that the entire topic is about whether or not people sympathize with A-kun

I'm not sure why. The show actively calls him out on his self-righteousness numerous times, never mind that his go to method of dealing with any problem is with violence. It's a gag anime so I'm not taking it too seriously, but since watching the show I've noticed the amount of "boy I hate that yoshiko bitch, but pooooor A-kun" like I said...I think it's kind of revealing since the Aho-Girl goes out of its way to show that Akuru is just as much of a shitty character as Yoshiko.

I mean, that's the joke--everyone's awful. But I think there's a certain type of person here who doesn't get that Akuru isn't meant to be sympathetic.
