It means at the beginning of the story she was only a girl with a strong voice and absolutely no vocal training whatsoever. When she joins Inohari, she starts singing lessons and starts to understand the complexity of music. Even though Nino's voice at the early episodes wasn't bad, it was just raw, her tones carried a lot of emotion and I think that's exactly what the producers wanted. A lot of people, with ears only used to autotune and overly-trained vocals, disliked this. Well, I just wanted to show that this anime perfectly captured the evolution her voice is supposed to go through in the many songs they recorded. |
