| Alfred is proving to be really smart though a bit of a nuisance to the Zeon soldiers. Bernie is also a very interesting character. Loved that they mentioned the "White Base pilot" hahah. |
| Favorite part it the White Base mention. It's nice to see that they had support going on behind the scenes. Still waiting for the kid to realize it isn't all fun and games. I like Bernie, though, he's a nice guy for a Zeon soldier. |
| So basically the Alex is supposed to be Amuro's mid-season upgrade, pretty neat way of fitting it in the continuity. And the 3 main characters finally end up in the same scene. Can't wait too see what happens next. |
| Dat White Base reference. I knew it : Chris is a pilot ! Al is one brilliant kid : finding the hidden Federation base and all (he's definitely more useful than Bernie). I'm really enjoying this series so far and kinda rooting for all the main characters. Also, dat cliffhanger... Al is getting caught for sure. |

| Is some of the audio missing in episode 3 of the English dub? Any copy I find of it, there's no sound during the scene when Bernie and Alfred see space for the first time, especially when Bernie tries to throw Alfred off the balcony or something. |
| Good episode, but this is the first time i ever wanted to hit a kid so badly to the point he won't say anything anymore. WTF is this kid doing. If i were Bernie i would bright slap Al the moment the interview with the cop was over. Al is just as annoying as Katz from Zeta Gundam. Damn Chris knocked Bernie out. Seems she's also a pilot, but what about this sending to White Base? Since the war is still ongoing this is supposed to be Amuro's spare Gundam in the meanwhile? I have a feeling it will be destroyed and not make it outside this colony. Can't wait for the next episode. |

| Wow this episode had a number of intense and also heartwarming scences. Its obvious the zeon captain is just using alfred for intel since he notice he's a local familiar with the colony and seems to want to spill everything to the zeon sf group. Alfred is cute but damn is he gullible and have a nose to get himself into trouble with no realization of consequences usually. One scene I really liked was when he screamed to save the policeman's life. That was really good awareness by him especially since he seem so gullible earlier I'm suprised he realized the dude was going back there with the intention to kill the police officer. It sucks the kid is being taking atvantage of by the Zeon unit. I somehow feel like even at 10 or 11 (I would have been what 5th or 6th grade?) there's no way in hell I'd be helping out either side of the conflict and probably would have went right to the authorities after discovering the Zeon Zaku and Bernie so there'd at least be a chance to end the conflict without having to sacrifice civilians and possibly the whole colony if the battle got really violent. But then again I got the luxury of being 24 and having an outsider's view of the situation, and having watched all the UC up to this point red flags go up in my mind when I see any mobile suit in a colony. That is crazy Bernie and Chris meet in that sort of setting when they are enemy soldiers . Chris is really protective of Alfred there were clues in the first episodes that she constantly looks out for him and of course she caught Bernie before he could get into the house. It's probably enivitable their going to have a conflict in the future. Oh yeah and obligatory "I understand the white base reference" for me too.. its been a while since I watched 0079, was there a time amuro got a completely new gundam? Guessing shits going to start hitting the fan from next episode on oh boy |

Amuro gets his Gundam upgraded after his encounter with Lalah, I think. He mentioned in a battle (third movie) how the Gundam was a lot easier to pilot effectively thanks to a magnetic coating. In the manga retelling (The Origin), there are several chapters where Amuro meets a scientist who asks to operate this modification on the RX78-2 by rebuilding it because it would in theory allow it a far better manoeuvrability (at this time, Amuro tapped enough in his Newtye potential to feel a gap between his reaction time and his machine's.) I loved the reference too. Chris tests a RX78-??? named "Alex": is this an actual new model who is supposed to be for Amuro but will be destroyed before (then they simply coat the original), or Amuro's own RX78 who has been rebuild while he was out-of-duty? The fact she meets Bernard in person invites me to think one will kill the other in the final OAV MS fight. Because of that, Bernard must be the Zeon pilot. I love to see how he and the kid (who seems to have no real family bond) started a "brotherly relationship", About Albert: I still understand the happy naive attitude he has but at least he had the idea to save the policeman (= not totally impermeable to the fact that war "kills"), and I can't wait for the moment he will realize the full extent of his actions. 4/5 edit: the visage features were sometimes pretty bad, especially during the McKenzie dinner. |

Damn brats... I also wonder why they would have a gravity pull downwards into space, even though the gravity pull of the whole colony would in that case actually go inwards... "physics" Well it sure was a decent episode, especially to know that Christina is a fighter pilot! Well let's see how that brat can get out of that situation at the end. |

| this is OK and is a breath of fresh air compared to the other OVA I'm currently on. Doesn't seem to be the masterpiece many people make it out to be so far though. |

| I also had to smile when they name dropped the White Base. So far I reallly enjoy the slow pace and that we get to know the characters. Will make the events in later episodes all the more impactful. Especially an encounter between Chris and Bernie could end up being interesting. Al also has to experience the tragedy of war yet. At least he realized that his actions would've costed the police officer his life if he hadn't done anything. |

| Friendly exchanges between Bernie and Chris make me think that either of them is definitely going to die, traumathazing Alfred. That secret facility security tho. Having an unlocked door is really something. Obligatory convenience for the protagonist present in virtually every show, I guess. |
