I don't have any information whatsoever about any of the Final Fantasy games.
Can I still watch this?

Yes, it's more or less made as an introduction to the game.

Yes you can.
The game isn't even out yet and the anime is mainly focused on the backstory of each character in the game.

What about the Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV which was released in July? This serves as the prequel for it, am I right?

I think you should be fine. From what I can tell, it's a prequel for the game, aka backstory for Noctis.

Okay. Thank you for your reply. How is it if I may ask?

I haven't actually watched the whole thing, only bits and pieces, but it uses the same CGI as the movie: Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children

You can watch Kingsglaive and Brotherhood without playing the game. They're prequels of the game, therefore you need no information.

I watched Kingsglaive in theatre with my other FF-fan friends and all of us liked it. It was as good as we've expected from a FF-movie, but can't say what a non FF fan would think of it. My opinion is biased.

Thanks for your input. I just completed Brotherhood and really liked it. Going to watch Kingsglaive now. I just got a glimpse of it's animation and loved it. Sometimes I confused the characters with real life persons. I think I'll enjoy it.

Ironic, considering what the person above me said, but I didn't play the game -- and I only know a LITTLE bit of lore from the overall franchise. I watched this regardless, for some reason. Let me say, I understand everything that was going on. I think the overarching premise is very discernable from these episodes alone. Having not played the game, I'd say no context was necessary for me.

Just four guys on a mission, facing adversities along the way -- but mainly learning about each of their youths. With themes of brotherhood and friendship and all that.

Overarching plot aside, the individual episodes present their own little plots as well. Prompto losing weight, Ignis being a servant, Glady and his sister, Noct being royal but living a relatively civilian lifestyle. It's all very easy to grasp. To me, the Final Fantasy franchise wouldn't even have to exist and this could still be a standalone anime, and be just as charming.
