Heh not the typical training themed episode..

Meanwhile, Houhou in normal clothes and sailor outfit? I wasn't expecting that. Also, Soran still had to face some of his personal demons .

Pretty good episode and i like it.

The bad is that we had a bad start with the anime and we're ending with an amazing end one if they keep it up.
The previous 2 episodes just showed another direction of the anime quite good

In last 2 months...i can say the only episode from such/kind anime i enjoyed.

So I guess Soran's now really pissed off he didn't even care about Houhou as his "master" anymore. And Saen is come at the perfect timing. Feels like in the game where you decide to become a good or evil character for the end.
Yeah like that will happen. LOL

More Houhou with "outfit".

Houhou finally shows some emotion, but it seemed forced. Especially when she said "Please don't leave" Maybe there's some backstory for that, or maybe it's just she doesn't wanna be alone anymore.

I enjoyed the emotion though, her cutting the house was intense.

Houhou in that dress though <33 She is sexy

This series has been world building for 7 episodes. Enough already. I don't care about terrible upbringings of the outsiders that everyone keeps drumming on about. I don't care about seven inherited super powers. Just get the stupid training montage over with so the show can start the tournament battles.

this is almost a typical example of wrong audience and poor targeting/pr

first off the PV or any pre air info put it into a horror zombie genre when it's actually a battle of super powers while that Zombi thing only a result of the super power of one sub character,

then it certainly doesnt appeal to the majority watching late night jap animes looking for soft porn here valuing animation above everything else, when this is more towards a shonen manga more about personal struggle, battle, and character development

My Hostess girl is still awesome and the reason to keep watching this anime series. My favorite line was the "Oh crap....." she kept repeating. Epic......been there.....said it many times. Next week...more meh MC.....but more Hostess girl!

That scene with Houhou felt really forced. Normally she would have absolutely no hesitation to beat the living shit out of him. She'll kick him in the face when his ki messes up but barely does anything when he wants to leave? That was Big Order levels of forced.

Emotionless characters only work as gag characters, not as main characters. People can't get emotionally invested in a character who has no emotions - they can only invest in people they see themselves in. Kiznaiver is actually a good example of unbelievable irony - Sonozaki is pretty much emotionless but she goes on about how people don't get involved, invested, or empathize with Agata because they can't see themselves in him.

Now, with that said, I actually enjoyed this episode more relative to the previous episodes. Despite how forced it was Houhou showed some kind of emotion, so I am curious to see how she will handle that. Unfortunately if the writing continues in the same way it has been they will likely mess that up too.

Well Chu Lan (Soran) already stated his position and decision clearly. He chose his self-respect (面子) over his life.

You may not understand it but to us Chinese, 面子 involves anything to has do with self-respect like pride, honor, dignity, reputation. So 面子/self-respect is important to us. This self-respect doesn't just consist of the individual alone but it also consist of the family, the belief and so on.

The moment Soran opted the self-respect, beating him up won't stop him from leaving, he'll crawl his way out even if he has to just to leave. That's just how the Chinese are.

I appreciate the lesson (really, I do), but that doesn't really change the situation. The woman is emotionless and seemingly oblivious to many aspects of life, not to mention her previous behavior suggests that she doesn't really care about other people's basic rights. It is completely out of character for her to stop and get emotional like that. When all is said and done I admit that I am looking at this as a non-Chinese person who, first, is a critical thinker, and second, doesn't feel a need for any sort of religion or superfluous concepts like faith, honor, or pride. The only similar concepts I subscribe to are humility and respect, both of which Houhou completely tossed out the window from the start.

Ultimately the biggest issue I have here is that she magically gained emotion out of nowhere. A normally calm, expressionless, rational character became excited, emotional, and irrational in that situation instead of trying to compromise or talk to Chu Lan. I have no issue with her wanting to respect his pride, but the way the situation (the writing) was handled was atrocious at best and forced at worst.

Hou Hou/Bao Bao is still a Chinese and the concept of self-respect is part of our culture as a Chinese, how we are raised, so she should still have a basic knowledge on what it is and what it means to others. Therefore regardless of whether she cares or doesn't care about Chulan's right, she should still be able to understand that no matter how she forces him, beat him up or even incapacitate him, the fact that Chu Lan will still leave that place won't change. You can say it's why her composure broke, she thought Chu Lan won't be so adamant about his self-respect from how he previously act. Remember when Chu Lan rejected her phone call few episode back, she was clearly angry so she's not devoid of emotions.

Well this part is mainly done with the focus on the Chinese mentality as a priority so i don't blame you for not understanding.

I understand your feeling dude. As a manhua reader, I do have your feeling too when I encountered this scene. However, I realized this scene was MAKING SENSE after reading further plots. Anyway, please look forward to the further episodes, this series is an "slow hype" anime and just getting hype and epic now! ~^o^~

Can't actually see Soran join up with the Tengekai, but, maybe he actually will? Already had kind of lost hope in the series but that's an interesting turn of events for sure.

Someone else imagined that, in another world or dimension, they are seeing the point of view of the company. and what is happening is another "Case more" of its history
The question isn't "What anime do you like?" That is merely a list.
The question is "Why do you like it?" That tells a story. Your story.

This anime is actually getting better right now. Less stupid moments and Soran at least has some dignity. I did not expected that.
